  1. ^Really? Water slides are so easy to fit into tight spots. Like already mentioned they can build off of the main slide complex. Just like it's been stated everywhere else on this site, if a park wants something, they'll find a way to get it.
  2. You mean Woodstock Express? Psycho Mouse is not too close to the water park.
  3. http://seekingalpha.com/article/320634-cedar-fair-s-ceo-hosts-investor-presentation-transcript So looks like all CF parks will be getting the Fast Lane treatment this year. I'm really curious how this will work out for the park. The rides I can see using this are the major coasters including Psycho Mouse, Drop Tower, Tiki Twirl, Logger's Run, and Rip Roaring Rapids. Possibly FireFall, but that already has such a slow loading process, so who knows.
  4. So after this season, the only coasters in need of a pain job is Vortex and Psycho Mouse. I would also love to see some of the flats with a new paint job. I wish Drop Tower would go to the old multicolored scheme. Orbit and Centrifuge are looking a little dated, but keep the same paint scheme. A lot of the KidZville rides can use some new paint as well.
  5. I honestly think Vortex should have kept it's green and black color scheme. It looked so much better. I think Vortex would look pretty cool with some red track.
  6. Finally! They probably decided to do Demon and Flight Deck just to use all that black paint at once. Haha. Hopefully Vortex gets some new paint next year. Hell, hopefully it gets a new color scheme because that purple and yellow just isn't cutting it. What I find funny is that there are no blue or red coasters in the park, yet there are two purple coasters (Vortex and Taxi Jam).
  7. ^If I'm not mistaken, between all the CF parks, there are 3 different models of enterprises. There's the Schwarzkopf version that CGA and I believe the other former Paramount Parks have, the Huss version, and whatever the Carowinds version is.
  8. What exactly do you mean by this? Are you referring to Jaguar at Knott's? For example, Demon at CGA has a 48" requirement while the identical Demon at SFGam has a 42" requirement. All CF enterprise rides (Orbit, Witches Wheel, etc.) have an unnecessarily high requirement of 54" while all Six Flags enterprise rides have a 42" requirement. CF rapids (not sure if all) carry a 46" requirement, while other parks have much lower requirement. The list goes on.
  9. Could this mean lowering some of those ridiculously high height requirements? I sure hope so. And I don't know about the rest of the CF parks, but CGA has a lot of rides that don't open or close with the park, so hopefully we see less of "This ride opens at _____."
  10. I think now that the City of Santa Clara, the 49er's, and Great America all see to be on the same page regarding parking, etc., I think now it will be much easier for the park to build new rides with the city on their side. And especially with CGA being one of the top 4 best performing parks in 2011, along with CW, KI, and KBF, I don't see why Cedar Fair wouldn't want to invest in the park. Now, I was actually really looking forward to JMA buying out the park and see what they have to offer, but the press release and the mercury news both sound very promising for that entire area of Santa Clara. And for those of you that bring up Six Flags Astroworld and their similar situation with their stasium, I honestly don't feel like this would be an issue for this park. I think the stadium can only help the park; but I guess we'll know for sure in 2015.
  11. I loved Skyhawk. Granted it was down for most of my visits back in its day, and when it was open 1/4 of the pods were closed off to riders, but still a fun ride! And yes, it's now a 3-point challenge.
  12. ^The Paramount parks, especially CW and KI, are huge money makers. I mean, when CF purchased the chain they were forced to take CGA because it was a package deal. The top 4 performing parks as of the 3rd quarter were CW, CGA, KBF, and KI as stated on the CF website.
  13. ^It was, but then they moves their swinging pirate ship to the lawn for this season.
  14. www.cedarfair.com/ir/press_releases/index.cfm?current_root=15&mode=story&story_id=327 California's Great America was in the top four of top increased revenue parks along with Canada's Wonderland, Kings Island, and Knott's Berry Farm. Really good to see the park doing so well.
  15. ^Its was known as the Chippery for 2 seasons I believe in the late Paramount Days.
  16. I honestly think this is one of the best things that can happen to the park as of today. Essentially, now there's going to be a good relationship between the city of Santa Clara, CGA, and the 49'ers stadium project. What it seems like now, is that there will be more people/groups in favor of improving the park, and quieting the damn business neighbors. And I think by taking away the corporate operating company (Cedar Fair), CGA can become a lot more unique. There is HUGE potential for the park and the surrounding area. Why it can be a great area? -Public transportation is plentiful in the area (Bus service, Light Rail, Caltrain) -Convention Center right across the street -Golf Course right across the street -CGA -49'ers stadium -A lot of large shopping centers within less than 4 miles from the park (Mercado, Rivermark, McCarthy Ranch) I truly believe that all of these things can be good for the park and only help the area grow.
  17. You can request to go to a certain ride, but its not guaranteed. As for the light rail, it's about a 10-15 minute walk from the light rail station to the employee entrance.
  18. www.cagreatamerica.com/events/event_detail.cfm?event_id=452&ec_id=13 Looks like it's official, only three scare zones this year. It seems like with them cutting Witch Doctor's Trail, which was the worst haunt attraction IMO, they can focus on improving and expanding the other scare zones. I wonder why they chose not to bring back the Fangs show. I really enjoyed it last year.
  19. CGA's haunt site went live: haunt.cagreatamerica.com/ Looks like no more Witch Doctor's Trail scare zone. And the show Fangs! is already out the door after one season. Hopefully some new mazes/scare zones will be announced soon!
  20. That area is already congested during Haunt because the Werewolf Canyon maze entrance is right next to the ride. Also, Flying Eagles is easily one of the park's most popular family rides, so closing it would cause a lot of angry parents. I think the Triple Play grave could be a decent maze.
  21. For anyone that cares, Firefall re-opened today.
  22. I went to the park yesterday: Logger's Run, Whitewater Falls, Rip Roaring Rapids, and Action Theater open at 11:00. Grizzly opens at 12:00.
  23. Really starting to feel that its both Intamins and Cedar Points fault now that Windseeker has had such massive issues. CP just hasnt seemed to have any sense of urgency with their openings. BTW that light package is UH MAZING. I cannot wait to get this new lens I am buying tomorrow, new tripod and go up and take some wicked night time lapse shots. Um, isn't WindSeeker manufactured by Mondial, not Intamin?
  24. ^You need to calm down. That is simply a new game for this season. When the park is ready to announce a new addition for next season (provided there is one), they will do so.
