  1. I always thought that nearly all the germans do understand enough english to have a "little" conversation and understand you food orders... If not, I´m a little dissapointed, to be honest... GeorgeT (P.S. I`m sorry if that was a little off topic...)
  2. Aaaah...it`s a problem of the europeans...THANK YOU VERY MUCH
  3. Can they really put the trims off...? I don`t know... I was riding GeForce on several days...never on on a ERT session or something "special". My ride experiences were different... It was always good...but when I rode it in the late afternoon or early evening on a warm and sunny day, it always left me and my friends breathless. I guess thats the point... GeorgeT
  4. Dear Philrad... I wish you luck with the weather and loads of fun at the munich Oktoberfest and, of course, Europa Park. Looking forward to your (hopefully) upcomimg trip report... GeorgeT
  5. We have that kind of "bouncy" roundabout on many of our fairs here in Germany. And it`s hard to understand why they are allowed...cause they ARE dangerous IMHO...but fun, of course... GeorgeT
  6. Looking forward to the updates...and thanks for sharing... GeorgeT
  7. "It almost looks like a themeparkreview ERT session." Now, that`s EXACTLY what I thought...It`s so great to see, that the germans finally learned how to ride a rollercoaster. Everyone of those was watching Robb on TV at least once I guess... GeorgeT
  8. Thank you for sharing... The park looks VERY good...but I think maybe you were skipping between the attractions a little too often...that was a little exhausting...but I think it was well filmed though... GeorgeT
  9. Thank you, Robb, for sharing... Funny that the three named "favourites" are not "really" Vekoma-ones...hmmm ? GeorgeT (But hey, they build Colorado Adventure...I just forgot how much I love "the-one-and-only" Vekoma... )
  10. I think we don`t have to talk about Blue Fire...look at Black Mamba, Nemesis, Winjas, Colorado Adventure, EuroMir...people LOVE well themed coasters... Some people may think, that you have to build record breakers to make money...but hey...Europa Park is growing faster than any other European park as far as I know...they`re making loads of money...and why ??? Because FAMILIES love to go and stay there (often for several days)...THOSE (!) are the people, who bring the MOST of the money. Why do they choose Europa Park ? Because it`s beautiful/well themed and the whole family can do nearly everything together, because it has fun-rides/fun-costers instead of (just) thrill-ones... (For me, it`s hard to explain all that in english...sorry...) I`d like to add, that I was dreaming all my childhood of visiting the USA to ride all their huge coasters...but now, to be honst, I´m not interested anymore. Cause by now I think, that we have probably the better parks and the better coasters...of course thats just my personal taste...(and I remember many TPR`s raving about them, too) I love great landscaping, I love great theming...and that`s what I find in MANY European parks. The happy valley concept is what makes me want to go oversea...not huge record breakers standing "naked" somewhere in the pampa... GeorgeT
  11. I know, that it`s the decision of many people...but what I think is, that if you want the people to come back to your park, more than just for riding a new coster once, the theming is a very important factor ! If you create a great atmosphere (and that has a lot to do with theming IMHO) people will stay longer, buy more food, will return more often and hopefully LOVE the place. In the long run, quality is more important than quantity, I think (but maybe I´m wrong with that and it`s just my personal taste)... GeorgeT
  12. I`d like to add a few positive things... In my opinion Werner Stengel is doing an incredible job (What would the coster-scene be without him ?) and I think that especially some of the European parks have a very good mixture of thrillrides and theming (Alton, Europa, Phantasialand, for example...) AND I think that many woodies have a very interesting layout compared to the steels ones (well, of course there are exceptions)... GeorgeT
  13. Hi... I would like to know your opinion ? Are they doing a good job ? Sometimes, I am missing some kind of creativity. I think there should be more money invested in the theming. It would make the coasters more unique and it would create so much more "atmosphere"...even the subjective "feeling" of speed could be raised a lot... I would love to see more tunnels, pre-shows, darkride parts, "special-effects", fog and so on... And, in my opinion, there are too many short ones. If a coaster is high and fast, why let it hit the brakes with soo much speed left ? A few more curves close to the ground would add a lot to the ride and would`t be that expensive, I guess. Especially if the people have to wait for a long time to ride the coaster, the ride shouldn`t be over too quickly. And I know that many people LOVE long tracks. Now, what do you think ? How "satisfied" are you ? GeorgeT
  14. The wild train thingy looks like the most promising roller-coaster-concept EVER. I think Cedar Point needs one very urgent...otherwise it won`t be able to keep up with all those little russian parks with those awesome airtime-machines... Now seriously...I think those little and "cheap" wild trains would be a GREAT addition to so many Intamin, B&M and Vekoma-filled parks. (Sorry, a little off-topic..) Greeds...GeorgeT
  15. I had some VERY forceful rides on SilverStar too. I didn`t expect too much from it...just a little warm up for Blue Fire, but then, I was very surprised, how much Airtime it delivered. I heard many people saying, that Silver Star is getting better with every year. I don`t know...but sometimes it really offers some great rides. Greeds...GeorgeT
  16. It`s absolutely great that we get those pictures and even an onride of fireball so soon...Robb, I love this forum...I really do. It makes me happy...and fireballs layout is maybe the best woodie-layout I`ve ever seen. I think this could be my number one... GeorgeT
  17. Sorry James...but in the end of september or the beginning of october (that`s when he`s gonna travel, that`s when Oktoberfest will take place) there will be no Helloween decoration...and the park closes before it get`s dark...but of course things change in the END of Oktober... Greeds...GeorgeT
  18. If you have to choose one park, it has to be Europa. And yes, all the water rides will be open... GeorgeT
  19. So, I just checked out the real travelling time. The fastest connection you can choose takes 4 hours and 22 minutes. You start from Munich main station at 6:41 in the morning and you arrive at Europa Park at 11:03. Here`s the link : (it`s the 10. in that list) http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/dn?ld=212.203&seqnr=3&ident=oq.021034203.1250024362&rt=1&rememberSortType=minArrival&REQ0HafasScrollDir=1 The second best connection is when you start from munich at 5:23 and you arrive at Europa Park at 10:41, which means that you travel for 5 hours and 18 minutes. The distance is about 450 kilometers, that means about four to five hours by car... Hope I helped a littlebit... Greeds...GeorgeT
  20. If I´m not wrong the train connection is VERY bad. James, are you shure about it ??? GeorgeT
  21. Why not ? I Mean it`s worth it, I think. Just ask Team Thriller...I think he`s singing the same song Blue Fire is the only coaster here in Germany that`s really worth to rave about. And yes, I´m (a little) in love with that coaster. But maybe you would understand me a littlebit better if you rode it youself. I´m sorry, if I`m going on anybodys nerves, but I just bring my enthousiasm about B.F. in this forum. I think that`s just me... Greeds (and a little "sorry") ...GeorgeT P.S. Did I mention how AWESOME blue fire is
  22. First of all, I whish you LOADS of fun in Germany (and when you hit Europa, don`t miss to ride Blue Fire as late as possible (Choose the front row and KEEP YOU ARMS UP !!!). But to answer your question : Go rent a car ! That will definitively save a lot of time. Going there by train is a little complicated and therefore takes too much time in my opinion ! (And going there by bus...no.) If there`s some time left...try to have dinner at the colosseo (outside the park !). It´s definitively worth it! Need more advice ??? Greeds...GeorgeT
  23. I´m VERY impressed by that...so please start building it immediately ! GeorgeT
  24. So...how was GeForce running ??? How were the trims ? (And besides...did you enjoy Blue Fire ???) GeorgeT
  25. Oh, what a night... First of all, let me say "Thank you, James" for posting this... I love your comments...I really do...I`ll suggest you as the "Next Robb Alvey"...you have a similar style of commenting pics...ABSOLUTELY GREAT !!! And OH Yessssss....the park was soooo beautiful that day ! My feeling that night was, that there was no better place to be in whole germany (maybe in the whole world ?) than there...EUROPA PARK WAS DEFINITIVELY THE PLACE TO BE THAT DAY !!! But there will be Halloween...and we will have NINE days to join the park and ride Blue Fire in the dark...WHAT ABOUT THAT ??? So if anyone of you guys has the chance to come over here on Halloween...it`s sooo much worth it...AND JAMES; NEXT TIME; WE`RE GONNA DO IT TOGETHER; BABY ! GeorgeT
