  1. ^I went in Dec of 14 and every employee I spoke with understood very little English. All conversations eventually took place in Spanish (albeit very broken Spanish on our part).
  2. This is the most exciting Six Flags announcement for 2017 in my opinion! Glad to see it going into one of the better parks in the chain too.
  3. I was at the park last night. It was not windy. I assumed they were only running 1 train because of the threat of rain and their stupid rain policy. Mean Streak was running 2 trains and then went down to one after a couple sprinkles (literally a couple) of rain fell down. By the time we made it over to Magnum (7Pish) it was already running 1 train.
  4. Wildfire was built in some pretty bad weather. I can't remember exactly but I think Goliath was built during a pretty bad winter.
  5. The park was just set up for failure. It took about a half an hour to park because of no traffic control with people crossing the street from the parking lot to the park. 1 train operation on Thundercoaster the majority of the morning. I think we ended up waiting almost an hour and a half through the 1 train operation. Finally as we were about to get into the station they put the second train on (the park had been open for 4-5 hours by this point). We ate at the Rockburgeren diner outside of Speed Monster and spend over a half an hour waiting for our food. After giving up waiting we walked up to the counter and were given our food almost immediately (and we didn't complain we just stood there and continued talking to each other) which seems to me they weren't paying any attention (there wasn't any line for food at this point in the day). They had a sign posted that the Supersplash would be closing at 5:30P. We assumed this was so they could get people through the line and have the ride closed by 6P when the park closed. We showed up at the line at 5:13P and it was already closed off. We ended up leaving the park before the 6P closing because nothing was open anymore besides the games. The positives were that the Loopen crew and the Speed Monster crew (all 2 operators at each ride) seemed to move at a decent pace to get people through the lines. The park was packed and it staffed to operate as if they were planning on it being one of the emptiest days of the year. We all agreed we wished we had spent a 3rd day at Liseberg instead of including Tusenfryd in our trip which is surprising because we all love visiting new parks! ---Not to completely hyjack Yngve's thread though, I agree the Safari ride was very cool! It gave a unique perspective on the animals as if the almost didn't realize people were floating above their heads. When you go to your typical zoo the animals usually just sit there and stare at you but we didn't get that from this ride. I just ended up having to ride it being pouty that I couldn't ride Wildfire that day.
  6. They've essentially been doing this ever since Magnum crashed in 2007. They blame the crash on the rain. From everything I've heard with all the time I've spent around Magnum over the years it was definitely brake pressure / maintenance related.
  7. Nice pictures! Glad we were both able to ride it after the lap bar fiasco the Friday before. Now where's the TR from our awesome trip to Tusenfryd?!
  8. I need to mention though that there are bees EVERYWHERE at this park. It was so incredibly annoying to attempt to eat lunch. I would suggest eating at the Safari Restaurant because it is inside. We tried eating there our second day after learning our lesson on the first but it closed at 3pm. We ended up getting the Asian food and taking it to the inside tiger exhibit to get away from the bees. I even got stung while riding Wildfire. I was sad to leave Wildfire behind for years, but not sad at all to leave the bee sanctuary!
  9. Yeah the wall crawl, or whatever you want to call it after the stall was my favorite!
  10. We were able to get on it on Monday! We rode 13 times between 12p-6p. There was about a 10min wait all day, The ride is definitely awesome! Not my favorite coaster ever but it is definitely my favorite RMC (been on all but Lightning Rod and Joker for reference). They were still having issues throughout the day with train parking / lapbars as we had to be power packed out of the train in the station. Tons of airtime though! Definitely worth it to come out here and ride!
  11. So Wildfire broke today around 3:30pm and never reopened. We didn't get to ride. Major fail!!!!! It appears they are still having problems with the restraint cylinders because we watched them take several lap bars apart to get people out of both trains. We're hoping to give it another try on Monday.
  12. Did you utilize the Fast Lane system at Walibi Holland? If so can you please explain briefly how it works. According to their website you do everything through your smartphone!
  13. Preparing for my trip in August - Can someone tell me whether or not you pay for parking before you park your car (similar to almost every US park I've been to) or do you pay as you're leaving the park for the night? (similar to Europa / Holiday Park).
  14. ^My group of 4 will be at Kolmarden on the 5th and Grona Lund on the 7th!
  15. It's probably listed that way because the park isn't open yet. I rode Skyrush last night.
  16. I am so ridiculously excited to ride this on August 5th! It potentially can be my 600th individual coaster!
  17. I laughed so hard at this after just experiencing something similar at Holiwood Nights last weekend. Walking up to the Saturday night dinner there was some kid standing there and I walk by wearing a Magnum XL-200 shirt hear him say in one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard "I know Magnum XL-200; the world's first hyper coaster." I just gave him a thumbs up and continued walking thinking "what enthusiast doesn't know what Magnum is?". Then he blurts out "Also worst restraints on a roller coaster ever." That's the point I got really annoyed. No one cares dude. But I just gave him another thumbs up, kept my mouth shut and kept walking.
  18. That awkward moment when Wildfire is testing and Lightning Rod is still in "technical ride rehearsal..."
  19. Nice PTR! It has me excited for my visit to Walibi Holland in August! I noticed in your signature you ranked Goliath second to Expedition GeForce. Is it really that close to EGF or is it a far cry, but still really good? I feel like I've read a lot of mixed reviews on Goliath. Knowing how it compares to EGF though should paint a better picture.
  20. Looks like it'll be Stockholm then! Not really into the ABBA museum though but Grona Lund is of course in the plans! Anything else anyone recommends a couple US tourists dedicate part of their day to? Any obscure Swedish things that anyone would find pretty cool?
  21. Last night myself and a couple friends booked our plane tickets to the Scandanvian area! We have a "free day" so to speak budgeted into our trip. In our past adventures we've spent that free day exploring a random city. Due to the locations of the parks that we're going to visit we have the option to use our free day in any of the cities listed, Oslo, Stockholm or Gothenburg. I do plan on trying to see a bit of the other two but my question is which city is worth spending an entire day in? Not looking for anything in particular as I really don't know much about any of the cities listed other than the wonderful music they produce. Just random touristy things to see. Thanks!
  22. I'm guessing Friday and Sunday will be a little busier than normal with Holiwood Nights going on June 3rd and 4th at Holiday World.
  23. Since everyone seems to have forgotten this. I haven't read anything anywhere stating that the media day has been cancelled.
  24. For everyone's viewing pleasure.
