I picked up my pre-order copy of Battlefield 3 today and it also came with the Back to Karkland expansion pack. It just finished installing a few seconds ago so I'm going to play it right now. My Origin name is Jess1541

I saw Dream Theater and Trivium in concert a few days ago and it was a great show. I haven't seen Dream Theater live for 3 years and I missed them when they toured with Iron Maiden. Only thing is, they didn't play As I am, which has one of my favourite solos on it. For the encore, they played Pull me Under.

A little update. I was just at The Fair at the PNE today and I got to ride Atmosfear for the first time. It was a lot better than I expected. It wasn't thrilling, but I didn't really expect it to be, but it was definately quite forceful especially spinning when at full speed. This year, Atmosfear AND Hellavator are included in the ride pass. The only thing is, Hellavator only runs on turbo drop mode now. I am guessing from Atmosfear being included in the ride pass this year that it is going to become a pay-per-ride next year. I can't quite see that working out, because the ride holds 24 passengers each load and I'm not sure how many people are willing to pay to ride it. That would mean quarter or half full loads on most Playland days.

Drop Tower at Canada's Wonderland. It was the first Intamin drop tower I've ever ridden and the drop caught me off guard (I didn't know they do the false countdown back then). I actually prefer them over the S&S's.

Rock-O-Plane! Mainly because I'm kinda claustrophobic and not to mention how rusty some of the parts are. Not to mention the noise that things makes. Eeek! In terms of coasters, it would be either the former Wild Mouse at Playland or Rainbow Chaser at Fun Forest. Both of those are rusty metal deathtraps!

I've also pre-ordered BF3 and am very excited for it. As a bonus, it's release date happens to be on my birthday as well. I've got my new system up and running now and I have been mostly playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (if you want to add me, my new username is Siferra 89) and Crysis 2. I noticed I've been doing a lot better at BC2 because the higher performance on the new system seems to make it easier to react faster (not to mention the MAJOR reduction of lag). I'm still playing single player on Crysis 2 at the moment and just finished the level "Seat of Power" last night. The plaza part really creeped me out as I was playing it late at night. Bad idea. It was all those creepy voices combined with the dimly lit environment and the corpses scattered all over the ground. The music definately added to it.

I'm actually not surprized they're doing that to the pirate ship. EVERY ride at Playland has been watered down to some extent for a while now. You probably know that with Breakdance, Gladiator, Crazy Beach Party, and Music Express (it used to go forewards and backwards). I asked the rides manager why those rides aren't running at full speed, and the "excuse" he gave me was that "if we run them any faster, we'll have to raise all the height limits". They've even taken out the music for the Merry-Go-Round for a couple of years now. Even though I don't go on that ride, what is a Merry-Go-Round without music?! Is AtmosFEAR running at full speed? If so, will they be toning it down anytime soon? I'd hope not.

Apparently the opening for AtmosFEAR has been pushed to later in July rather than tommorow (Canada Day). The site originally said "opening July 1st" but now it just says "opening sometime in July". http://pne.ca/playland/rides-games-food/new-ride.html Guess they needed to do more testing...

After watching some multiplayer game footage of Crysis 2, I can't wait to start building my new gaming PC. Crysis 2 is definately on my "to get" list of games, but since I've never played Crysis or Crysis Warhead before, would I be ok going straight into Crysis 2? Or should I get those two as well?

Whoever did this to my aunt's car, shame on you! Those kids (when I say kids I mean people under 18) who thought it would be funny to go up to a random person's car, throw rocks at it, smash the windows, and just plain DESTROY SOMEONE'S PROPERTY definately need to find better things to do! If they've serving their time at youth detention, hope the others there treat you the way you treat others! (no offence intended towards anyone who's had conflict with legal system) Not only is this so called "prank" damaging to other's property, it's also damaging towards the reputation of people of my age group! Our reputation is already flawed, so nice work pushing us deeper into the mud. Just like the way my cousin (15 at the time) and his friends of a similar age were told that they cannot all be inside a store at the same time. I won't get into that, but it's age profiling. I can only dream of the day where there will be much less prejudice like this. Oh, when pigs can fly...

The classic "Heffalumps and Woozles" song from Winnie The Pooh. Used to watch that movie a lot when I was younger, causing that song to be stuck in my head for days. Came across this clip on Youtube and it definately brought back memories.

With the plan for continued expansion for the next 20 years, I wouldn't be surprized if things get moved around and maybe taken out while they're at it. Although I must admit, the new placement of the bumper cars is quite intersting indeed. Especially since it's one of the older rides and now it's been moved upfront with the "newer" rides (Hellavator, Gladiator, Kettle Creek, Crazy Beach Party). As for Playland becomming a more "themepark-like destination", I think that's their intention with the expansion plans. I know this is only wishful thinking, but could a new coaster be on it's way in the years to come? (crosses fingers)

From what I remember, I think the bumper cars require you to be 48" to ride or drive.

Is that Mars Attak ride one of those that spin around and tilt and everyone sticks to the side because of centripetal (it's not centrifugal) force? That "Ranger" ride looks like the Vekoma version (the HUSS one doesn't have OTSR).' Is it just me, or do a lot of the smaller foreign parks all tend to look similar?

Haha, radiation monitors. Looks like a nice little park, very well maintained too. Noticing a resemblence to Ocean Park in Hong Kong. If you look carefully at the girl with the hard hat, I can sorta make out the words "coaster club" on her lanyard. Any idea what coaster club she's from?

Construction photos have been added to Playland's Faceboook page. It looks like it's going to be built infront of where Breakdance is.

All upcharge attractions are relatively cheaper than most "major" parks prices. - Quality food stands that aren't overpriced and serve more than just popcorn, chips, hotdogs, cotton candy etc. - Kids' area with a mix of family and kiddie rides - Archery range (upcharge attraction) - Drop tower ride - Kiddie drop tower - Go Karts (upcharge) - Bungee jump tower (upcharge) - Walk through and ride through haunted houses - Dedicated transit bus route from nearby cities and admission discounts for transit users - Pet care (maybe?) - "Swim with the fish" tank attraction (upcharge) - Museum of park's history - Train ride for transportation with stations in each area of the park

I don't own any consoles other than my PC and I've just updated my video card 2 months ago to be able to play Bad Company 2 and perhaps some others. According to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ my system needs a RAM upgrade to run Crysis 2.

Been playing a lot of BC2 (and becomming hooked on it) lately now that I'm starting to get better at it (unlocked all Recon weapons so far). I'm kinda thinking of looking for another PC FPS to play that isn't Call of Duty or Battlefield 3 (because I'm planning on getting that anyways). Any suggestions?

So they went with the Morey's Piers "borrowed" name. Just like how they used "Hellavator" from Six Flags 11 years ago. I voted for Eclipse on the Facebook poll and I kinda like the sound of Storm Rider as well. Those two names sound cool, but I think they'd be more suited for other types of rides.

A little update here. Playland is running a poll on their Facebook page asking what they should name their new ride. Atmostfear? Ripping off Morey's Piers? Then again, keep in mind this is a park that fails to come up with names that aren't overused or really cheesy sounding (Crazy Beach Party for the Frisbee and Hells Gate for the Top Spin). 1: Eclipse 2: Storm Rider 3: Cyclone 4: Atmosfear
