^Wait are you talking about the EPIC ? I had no idea it was possible to hate it.

^And sad as it is, Beast is quickly disappearing from campus. Being replaced by Natty. Yuck. But I'm still repping the old-school UD and keeping the Beast alive.

Wow, that was awesome. The only thing I could potentially knock is that the transition into the first 90* turn was a little awkward. Besides that, wow. This was fantastic. Great work. -

Like I said, the ride will be a GCI-Intamin stand-up woodie Aquatrax with TOGO trains. The ride will have splash-downs in the canal separating Frontiertown and Millennium Island. Mark my words. -
^Sad as it is, I'm alone on a Saturday night as well. Then moving on the the beer of all beers. Starting off with the perennial UD favorite.

This. PTR. OWNS. Just a tip - drink heavily before reading. It makes it all the more better. And you're right - typing correctly while drunk does take quite a bit of time. -

^Just to straighten it out - he didn't die on Firehawk. He had trouble breathing after the cycle, was taken to the hospital, and died there later. There's no evidence that the ride caused (or even contributed to) his death. Don Helbig said that the ODA will inspect the ride tomorrow, and that the ride was operating normally. I would expect it to be back up by Monday - if not sometime Sunday afternoon. -
^That's what I was wondering. Do other X-Cars have the floor-cracking problem? I suppose the fact that HRRR's layout does a lot more than other X-Car layouts could contribute to that problem (from the various stresses that HRRR's trains encounter), but aside from that, I don't see how the fractures could've happened...

^I agree. I really like the flume shots. But the upskirt coaster porn is unbelievable. Some of the best I've seen in a while.

I GOT IT!! CP's building a GCI-Intamin joint-designed stand-up wooden Aquatrax utilizing the left-over King Cobra TOGO trains from Kings Island! The trains will be repainted with lightning bolts. The name will be Electrical Storm, sponsored by Blackberry and U2. Mark my words. -

^I agree. I think the park has finally realized what they need to do with it - 1-800-GOT-JUNK. And I don't think I've ever seen park item that deeply discounted. That just really screams to me that SoB may have seen its last days. -
Looks like you had a good time. And the weather looks like it cooperated, too. DONKEYS?!? OMG, where?!?

Kings Island super crowded PTR August 1/2
DiSab replied to angryemobeaver's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There were testing SoB last week or the week before, and now the trains are all wrapped up. I have a feeling that we won't be seeing this thing running for the rest of the season - and hopefully not ever again. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think the trains were even tarped when they modified it after the accident. -

But it makes a hell of a lot more sense to have the trains or track (but preferably trains) to be silver on a ride named Silver Bullet - not the supports. Hence the naming FAIL. Park promotion, yes. But who's to say it wasn't the beginning of the marketing for the coaster? With it being in the general area of FoF, a space/alien theme is entire plausible - don't count it out until we know otherwise. -

And hopefully a new coat of paint. -
^^^The seats do look a little different - the seat padding looks a little thicker, so it could be a larger seat for larger riders. I'm actually surprised other companies besides B&M haven't built seats for larger riders (Intamin, I'm looking at you), especially given that more people are getting larger than they were even 5 years ago (me included).

YES!!! Another CF-McDonald's joint coaster installation! F1 is an Intamin coaster. When it was first announced as the fastest coaster on the planet, I believe it was initially misreported that it was a Premier ride. The news spread rapidly, but when it was re-reported that it was actually an Intamin, that didn't get as much attention. So it was still believed that it was a Premier ride. But its not. -
Darwin sure knew what he was talking about. Good to hear the problems have been tweaked and fixed (it seems). That non-inverting loop looks sexier and sexier each time I see it. One thing I'm looking forward to seeing is a night-time video of the ride from the Blue Man Group area. That part of the ride has really intrigued me, and I can't wait to see how it looks with the train lights burning through the darkness. Hopefully Universal will get everything worked out and have this thing open soon.

^I'm still having trouble deciphering that... Can you drop any more hints? -
I couldn't tell you about SoB, but I doubt that it'll be opened again within the week. I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem that way. And honestly, if you don't ride it, you're really not missing much of anything. Hell, its probably better for your life if you don't ride it at all. With the majority of the park visitors going to DB first off, try to get a ride on Firehawk early and hopefully the line won't be too long. DB's line is usually the shortest in the early to mid afternoon (around 2 or 3 PM), but whenever you ride it you likely won't wait much more than an hour. On a Thursday, if the crowds are fairly light, you can probably get upwards of 5 or 6 rides on it throughout the day. For food, I would suggest maybe taking an hour or 2 break and going somewhere outside the park to eat lunch or an early dinner. I don't know how many people you will be going with or what your transportation situation will be, but the food in the park just really isn't worth the arm-and-leg that they charge. But if you do end up eating in the park, the Festhaus usually has a good selection of food. Rivertown Junction (right near the DB entrance and queue) is an all-you-can-eat buffet restraunt, so that could be worth the money if you're hungry or have a larger group with you. But definitely try for a day and night ride on DB, as well as on Beast. If nothing else, at least go for the night ride on Beast - you won't be disappointed. And don't miss out on Vortex - it's gotten a little rough, but its still a fantastic Arrow multi-looper coaster and well worth the ride.
