  1. I meant a floorless coaster.
  2. I hope Cedar Point gets a stand-up.
  3. I would have loved to have a honeymoon at Cedar Point! Heck, I wish I would have had my wedding at Cedar Point! I would have said " I Do" going down Millie's first hill! This summer a guy proposed to his girlfriend there. He had the caricature person draw him on one knee. That was cool.
  4. I miss the Dominator! It use to be 30 minutes away from me now it's 8 hours away! I have to go to Cedar Point to process my platinum pass and they don't open until May 16th. I could get my pass in April but I don't want to drive 2 hours away and not get to ride any coasters!
  5. Single Rider Bob rode Millenium Force over 1000 times this season. He will probably end up in the record books.
  6. I have never been sore or bruised from Mantis. Apparently I know how to ride it properly! LOL! Maverick however has left plenty of bruises on my arms this summer. But that's only because I had my hands up the whole time. I do that on Mantis too. Phantom's Revenge was scary because the bar does not touch my legs and there is no bars to hold on to. I would not let go of the lap restraint! It was fun but I like CP's variety of coasters better.
  7. I don't consider Mantis rough, but then again I'm a girl! Mean Streak is rough. I agree about PR. It's not rough, just intense.
  8. I've been at Cedar Point 2 Sundays every month this fall. The crowds are usually light. Most rides have 1/2 hour wait or less except the big ones (Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Maverick). I have never been there on a closing day. Hopefully they won't be busy as I will also be there tomorrow.
  9. Millennium Force last night @ 10pm. AWESOME!
  10. I sat with the single rider on Sunday. My son was not ready for Millennium Force yet so I rode alone and at the last minute he sat with me. He is really nice. You can see him in the photo on the last page with his flourecent shirt on. Awesome day!
  11. You CAN black out on a coaster, probably not a launched coaster. The guy at the Mantis photo hut at Cedar Point said people blackout on it all the time. He said you can see their heads hanging in the photos sometimes. Also, people who are prone to seizures can ride most coasters with no incident, but if they ride one with heavy strobe lighting, they could pass out and/or have a seizure.
  12. I don't think Geauga Lake's WildWater Kingdom will be around too much longer. I, as many people, was shocked when they went to a waterpark only. It was the closest park for Akron, Canton and Youngstown. Now we have to drive to Kennywood or Cedar Point for coasters. If Cedar Fair was not making enough money to keep the ride side open, what makes them think the water park can survive? I know without the coasters being there I won't go back. I went once this summer and looked across the lake where the rides used to be and was depressed to see my childhood park die. The only reason I went is because I have Cedar Points platnium pass and did not have to pay to get in and my sister invited us to go with her kids. I, for one, enjoy roller coasters way better than water slides.
  13. I was also there on Sunday. It was amazing. It started to rain around 5. When it started sprinkling I said we should ride Raptor because we were real close to it and I knew once it started raining it would not stop. While we were in line they said it was shut down due to the rain and a bunch of people got out of line. We waited. They only had one train going because it was so slow and when the train unloaded, they waited like 1 minute and let us board! After that my 11 year old son wanted to win a guitar at the ring toss. I told him that it's a waste of money becase it's impossible. After spending only $12 HE WON!! Proved me wrong! Then I bought a Raptor shirt and left at 5pm. I arrived home at 7 and beat the storm. But at 8pm my power went out and it did not come back on until 3am last night. 31 hours with no power or water sucked but I'm lucky it's on now because some people were told they may have to wait until Saturday to get power back! The weather station said we experinced a Tropical Storm! I'm glad I went to The Point. I almost thought we would get rain earlier and it would not be worth the drive, but I realized the rain was not moving in that fast and it scares other people away. I also think alot of people don't want to go on Sundays during Halloweekends because none of the Haunted Trails are open.(except Sun. Oct. 12)
  14. Geauge Lake- Raging Wolf Bobs, Big Dipper, Double Loop
  15. Some people I know actually thought when Mind Eraser came to Geauga Lake in 1996 that it was the same track they used for Corkscrew. I had to explain it was all new because Corkscrew was moved to a park in India in 1995.
  16. Carowinds and Geauga Lake are owned by Cedar Fair Parks. All they did was move a coaster from one park to another. Geauga lake was not owned by Cedar Fair when this coaster was put in as The Mind Eraser. So it was not built especially for this park. I for one think they should have moved some things to Cedar Point. I know they don't have much room but they could have made some for the Texas Twister. Being in California now I probably will never ride it again. I went to Kennywood recently and thought King Kahuna sucked compared to Texas Twister But then agian I knew the person operating Texas Twister years ago and they always made sure you got your thrills worth! I will have to make a trip next year to North Carolina for Head Spin and another trip to Virginia for Dominator. I miss them both. Ionly live 30 minutes from Geauga Lake. Forgot to mention that this coaster is not new. It was built in 1996 I believe. ADMIN EDIT: Please do not double post. 17. Sorry. I meant chain lifts. These are some excellent photos. You could do this as a pro to help Cedar Point advertise!
  18. About 10 years for me. After I had my son I waited until he was 9 to take him to the park. Now we are both addicts!
  19. I've been to Cedar Point 8 total times, 6 this year. I don't know what made that sound but it sounded like a large guitar string being plucked! I did not realize that is why they stop for 5 minutes like that. I probably am just paranoid because my husband is a machinist and I understnd the concept of machines breaking down or loose bolts, but I'll still ride. I just don't want to be on anything if something major happens. Also I have a slight fear of heights so going up the hill is the worst part. After that I'm fine. I actually rode Millenium Force last month and loved it. I heard the elevator lifts are much safer than the cable lifts. My son is 11 and just started riding coasters 2 years ago and most of the time it is just the two of us so I don't want to force him on anything if he's too scared. He has rode 13 of the 17 coasters there and just realized these things happen. Maybe I should have had a beer! That would have settled my nerves!
  20. I was also there Sunday. We rode Raptor and were in line to ride again (since it was the only coaster open between 10 and 11) when it got stuck going up the hill. Me and my son were next in line when this happened and we were to nervous to ride it so we hopped out of line and went straight to Maverick. There was a line outside of the cue line since it was not opened yet, but when it did open we had at most a 5 minute wait. As the day went on I started to think the roller coasters were making weird noises. I don't know if I was just paranoid because of Raptor (it was only stuck for 5 minutes then worked fine!) or if was because there was not many people on the trains. Mean Streak really tore me up. I've rode it before but it was really rough this time. I heard a cable making a plucking sound as we went up the hill. That was scary! Last time I rode it it stopped half way up the first hill. I don't think I will ride this one again. After Raging Wolf Bons broke at Geauga Lake last year, I'm worried the same could happen here and that is a big hill to roll backwards on! I will be back there next week and I hope it's just like this time, no lines! I'm surprised everyone with a pass was not there.
