  1. This is the layout... red = lift orange = brake Photos of every section: lift 1 to brake 1: brake 1 to lift 2: lift 2 to brake 2: brake 2 to brake 3:
  2. Here's a walkthrough of the entire ride complete with concept art: http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2012/07/whats-next-for-hong-kong-disneyland-all.html Lots of spoilers obviously. And starting at 4:10 in this video, a sneak peek of the actual interior of the ride:
  3. Big Grizzly Mountain commercial. So many spoilers.
  4. It's about time Poland got a decent park, let's hope construction gets underway soon.
  5. That would work really well in an Arkham Asylum themed Mystery Castle...
  6. I sort of like it. It's alright. And much more future-proof than for example a Harry Potter themed hotel.
  7. Yes, the point of not building a ride twice. To the average visitor, both rides are out-of-control mine trains, in a very similar old west, desert environment. Why would Disney build Grizzly Mountain in a park that already has Big Thunder Mountain?
  8. The re-themed park trains. One is themed to rock, the other to pop. Each train has its own soundtrack and station... and only stops in that station. So unfortunately you can't use the train to get to the other side of the park anymore. SkunX (rock) WAB (pop) And a little update on Turbine... lots of painting going on:
  9. Here's an example. In Paris, you could simply modify the existing lifthill #2 (yellow) to include the "breaking cable" effect and drop you backwards into a bit of new track (red). Then at the end of the backwards section, there's more than enough space to build a launch building (where a goat steps onto a detonator, while trying to reach a basket of apples... after all, no grizzly bears in Bryce Canyon). From there, you're launched (green) into the existing remainder of the ride. As you can see, I wouldn't touch the existing ride layout or mountain at all... In fact, you would even be able to continue to use the old layout. Perhaps to add an element of surprise, and let some trains skip the backwards segment. BTM Paris
  10. Uh, no. You wouldn't have to touch the existing ride at all, with the exception of a few track pieces to connect the existing ride to the new section... which you would construct next to the existing mountain/ride. You guys are making this a lot more complex than it has to be.
  11. You make it sound as if I said it could be done overnight. Surely you agree it would be far, far cheaper than a $100 million clone of the entire Big Grizzly ride? Remember, I replied to someone who said "bring this to DCA". Which wouldn't make sense imo, if you already have Big Thunder.
  12. Cordes only made the parts, which RMC then assembled. edit: From RMC's website:
  13. It would be much wiser (and much, much cheaper) to modify the existing Big Thunder Mountains to include the breaking lift, backwards section and launch. Quite easy too, as there's more than enough space around all of them for a bit of extra track.
  14. I'm sure by 2030 or something one of these parks will have opened.
  15. ^ The zero-g photos are on page 2 of the report: http://midwestinfoguide.com/silver/project2013/06.27.12/index2.html
  16. Son of Beast's loop had laminated, wooden rails. Only the cross-ties, backbone and support columns were steel.
  17. It's a coaster. That's all that matters. Having said that, the ride will look much better - and more authentic - with walkways and handrails.
  18. This thread is worthless without pics. MontaƱa Suiza, Monte Igueldo - San SebastiƔn, Spain Montana Rusa, Tibidabo - Barcelona, Spain Wild West Mine Train, Ocean Park - Hong Kong
  19. An update of the new hotel "Bell Rock", which opens today: (photos by epfans.info) There are even rooms in the lighthouse tower: The first step towards an AmerikaPark ?
  20. Parks and Resorts has well over a billion net income annually, they can afford expansions like this. Not every year, not at every park, but it's definitely not as expensive as you think.
  21. Again very different parks. Why the question(s) anyway?
  22. They're very different, but both are very good, "complete" parks.
