I agree - there also isn't a big "New 2010 - Th13teen" sign in the sky above the park. Poor show indeed. -

May I join the Ferris Wheel hate campaign? -
This is a real tragedy and my thoughts are with her family. The normal reaction is a knee-jerk one - close the park, terminate the whale etc etc. In reality there is always the risk of this and I'm sure the trainer herself knew this. It's a risky job like so many other jobs but I'm sure she loved it or she wouldn't have done it. If you have a park like this something will happen eventually. It's a fact of life. Is it a risk worth taking - I think it probably is. Hey you could die driving to your work - should you just stay in the house all day?

Surely if they are putting the Corkscrew up as a mark of history it should be back to it's original yellow? And the incessant hype from AT is giving Th13teen a lot to live up to. -

Barclaycard Rollercoaster Advert

Maybe advertising has to be more direct in the US but these adverts would do wonders for Barclaycard. Ask anyone in Britain about the waterslide/coaster advert and they could tell you which company it was. -

Great footage! Were the credits at the end ALL for that 10 minute programme? The credits nearly lasted longer than the programme itself. -
Official RCT/RCT2 Help Thread
snoflake15 replied to Stoksy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hi, I posted this on a separate thread a while back but I thought I would try again on the official help thread. Its for the expert park - Oasis - Africa. No matter what I try guests do not come into the park. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it. -
I was travelling back up to Scotland from England myself and decided to stop off at Blackpool PB on way up (its about an hour's detour) It was a cold damp midweek day in March or April and I was about the only one in the park. I headed for the Revolution and got on and it set off with only me on it much to my embarrassment but also a strange sort of pride.

Found this report on the case - a wee bit of legal stuff but may be of interest to someone. Operators of Loudon Castle Theme Park acquitted in Health and Safety Prosecution by Compass Chambers On 10 October 2009 after a 10 day Sheriff and Jury trial at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Parkware Limited, operators of Loudoun Castle Theme park were found not guilty of a contravention of section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The prosecution followed the death in July 2007 of an employee of the company who had tried to activate a rollercoaster car by pushing it when it stalled at the start of the ride. When the ride commenced he failed to let go of the back of the car and was eventually thrown off sustaining fatal injuries. The case provided a classic example of the reverse burden of proof in such prosecutions as highlighted in the House of Lords case R v Chargot resulting in the company requiring to establish on a balance of probabilities that it had taken sufficient steps to ensure the health safety and welfare of its employees. The other notable feature of the case was that at the end of the trial and in the presence of the jury, the HSE Inspector who was in charge of the case was found guilty of contempt of court as a result of her behaviour in court and her behaviour towards a defence witness

This is my first TR so go gentle folks. May even try to get some photos on here once they are downloaded. Just back home in Scotland after my trip to sunny So.Cal. Decided to try KBF after my trip to SFMM last year. I'm glad I did as I really liked the park - compact. neat and tidy, good atmosphere and good rides. My fiancee hates theme parks and rides which puts me at a bit of a disadvantage. Instead of me going on my own last year she came with me this time. She couldn't be tempted on anything so I ran round trying not to leave her waiting too much. We spent the day at Soak City. I liked this water park although even though it didn't appear too busy the queues for the mainstream rides were fairly long. I restricted myself to Old Man Falls (the yellow and the steep red). I fancied Pacific Spin but it needs two people to ride it. Think I am getting old as I was really nervous on the water rides. The yellow one which twisted in and out really scared me and I was happy to hit the bottom. Hurt the soles of my feet too. Spent most of the day catching the rays and being in and out the wave pool (fairly lame compared to most other wave pools I have seen). Headed across the road to KBF about 5. Quickly got on Montezooma with no line. Loved it (8/10). Next stop Jaguar which had no line either (6.5) Thinking it was looking like it was going to be easy to ride everything I headed for Xcelerator but surprise surprise it was down. The staff were no help and I was worried my main purpose for going was going to be wasted. I went over to Boomerang but it was going slow so ducked out and went to Riptide. I expected it to be like the Alton Towers one but it was more intense but with less (in fact no) water. The soaking is one of the best aspects of the ride and I was disappointed it didn't happen. Then I went for Perilous Plunge hoping to dry off before dark. The ride op set up here was hopeless. Why have one person setting up the next lines but also checking one half of the restraints? Anyway it took 30 mins much to my (and my fiancees) annoyance. I really enjoyed the ride itself but with one car running it needs faster ops. They could give more attention to single riders too. I give it 8 nonetheless. My fiancee was now hungry so we went out to TGIF. I saw Xcelerator was back on so hoped it could keep working on my return. Got back in and headed for Xcelerator. Wow. What a rush at the start and over the top hat. Got the back seat too. Only my third 10/10 (with X2 and Tatsu). Think my fiancees highlight was seeing my ride video. Next stop Boomerang and got on second time. Brought back memories of my first ever coaster (The Coca-Cola Roller at the Glasgow Garden Festival 1988) Still good fun and it gets an 8. Silver Bullet next and I walked straight on at the front. Loved my first experience of coasters in the dark. Not my favourite Invert but I love them so it still gets a 9. Credit too to the ride ops who were efficient and amusing. I know the old 'Thank you for visiting the Magic Kingdom/Riding Batman' is a bit lame but it still makes me smile. Another diappointing wait at sidewinder. Only one car and slow ops. Another long wait (30 mins) which stopped me getting other rides on SB and Xcelerator. Finally it was Ghostrider. Only a 5 min wait. I know this gets mixed reviews (with more bad than good) but I have to say I liked it a lot. It was bump bump bumpity bump-tastic. It gets a 9 from me possibly helped by the night factor. Overall a great day and I'm glad I chose KBF. As deprived as I am of quality coasters there were a good few credits here. Would happily go back on my next trip to So.Cal altho I think the rides at SFMM just tip it in its favour.

Staying quite close to there when I come over on vacation. Could be tempted to give it a try.

^^^thanks mate - that's a very detailed and helpful analysis. Don't get me wrong MM is my favourite park ever with my 2 favourite rides ever (X2 and Tatsu) and would love to go back but I just fancy a change of scenery. There appears to be enough good coasters and rides to justify a trip to KBF particularly as it will be much easier for me to get to from OC. There's also a bit more chance on getting my fiancee on a couple of the tamer rides whereas she would never go on anything at MM. Can't wait to go!
