  1. Dolly Parton and Bloodstock festival, both in August! My music taste is varied to say the least
  2. My main/full-time job is in childcare... I look after 1 year olds in a nursery (daycare) I also do the account customer invoices for my dad's business on Saturday mornings
  3. The chances of being injured or killed on a theme park ride are so slim that I don't even take it into consideration, same with going on a plane. Seeing some of the idiots on the road though, now THAT scares me! Won't stop me driving but the risk of something happening is in the back of my mind.
  4. 2010 eh, I shall make a mental note of it!
  5. Have a great time! I'm visiting California this year after 3 Orlando trips and i'm really looking forward to visiting the original Disney park. Orlando is very much full-on theme parks so if you're going with someone who would prefer to do other stuff then CA does seem like the better choice
  6. Sounds like an awesome plan! With such a heavy itinerary i'd recommend taking a break at lunch time if you can, so you don't end up feeling burnt out from all the driving, walking and long days by the end of the second week.
  7. Whichever is the most popular ride that we want to do, we'll head to first. I think the key for any theme park is to get there for opening (as in be parked up, tickets purchased and at the turnstiles/rope drop before the park is due to open) From there we'll usually do any other popular ones in that area, then head to the next area with popular rides. However, if there are Fastpasses (like at Disney parks) we might get one before doing our first ride of the day if they are available. As an example: At Alton Towers a couple of weeks ago we headed to Rita Queen of Speed first.. (since it's the newest and seems to be the number one ride right now) The opening time was actually 10am but they let people in to park from something like 9 and the queue was already at around 15 minutes by 10am when the ride opened. From there we went straight to Nemesis and Air and had done the three most popular rides way before 11 when the crowds were pouring in!
  8. Haha, no way! If the poll is any indication, though, there would be no shortage of volunteers!!
  9. It's working out about £5 a gallon ($10) £1.20 a litre..! I'm glad I don't have to drive a lot and that my car is economical (VW Polo)
  10. My bf is vegetarian (no meat or fish) and at home I eat a pescetarian diet, it's just easier/cheaper to cook the same things for dinner and I honestly don't miss having meat as a regular part of my diet. If we're elsewhere I sometimes eat meat but i've found red meat in particular makes me feel queasy so I can only have a small portion of it.
  11. When I was a kid (I think maybe 10 or 11) me and my family visited a MANUAL theme park in France! Seriously, there were no attendants or anything, you operated the rides yourself, and it was really dangerous (but in a good way ) I remember one ride was a sort of roundabout with cars that went up down as well as around and there were kids just hanging off the cars! My parents didn't get any pictures of course, and don't even remember the exact location apart from that it was in or near Luberon.
  12. Kraken at SWO The Hulk at IOA Sheikra at BGT Nemesis at AT Rock n' Roller Coaster at WDW Dueling Dragons at IOA Kumba at AT Montu at AT Air at AT Rita Queen of Speed at AT
  13. I want either a WDW or Vegas wedding, partly because I want an excuse to only have a small wedding and also because it'd be like a built-in honeymoon! (which is really the only reason I wouldn't just go down the registry office route, i'm so romantic right?!! )
  14. The reasons you listed are pretty much why me and my bf can afford to visit the US every year. We get the 'you must be rich!' comments, but then these people go out drinking several times a week or spend insane amounts on groceries/takeaways/meals out! I'd rather be able to afford to go on awesome holidays that'll give us fantastic memories, but each to their own I guess. I think even when we do earn more in the future we'll still stick to this philosophy
  15. I'm Lizzy, 23 and live in Liverpool (UK) with my boyfriend. I've been to Alton Towers multiple times since I was 10 (most recently last week!) I know some UK people knock it but I think it has some great coasters and there are pretty much always discounts available on the tickets. I'm a huge Disney fan and aim to visit all of the parks (done Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World so far with DL coming up later this year) My favourite coaster is Kraken at Seaworld Orlando and favourite park is Hollywood Studios at WDW
