  1. Awesome! Sadly, though, this means I'm officially out of ideas for something to do with Lucario and the Club TPR packet when it arrives.
  2. Finally, some news on this Deja vu. Even though they're rough, the GIBs are still fun and definitely apart of coaster history, and I'm glad they aren't being scrapped.
  3. All of these British Isle parks I'm seeing make me want to go! I'm glad I'll be in Italy later on this year, I'll be a LOT closer than I am right now in Washington.
  4. An awesome little (literally) park. A Eurofighter, great doughnuts, some random awesome carnival rides, I'm surprised this isn't a TPR favorite! (although there isn't any way it could beat the Spainsh Fair or Oktoberfest)
  5. ^^^Thank you! Amen! ^I agree. The paint on WT is pretty worn and faded. You can tell the paint job is 13 years old. Although personally I'd say Corkscrew at Silverwood (and I guess at Playland PNE as well) is more in need of renovation, I can't say I'm not glad so see a fresh coat of paint on WT. The part of the renovation that was most needed, though, is the fence painting. A lot of the fencing was heavily chipped, especially along the lake as you looped down the back of the park. I've included some pics of fading, wearing, chipping, etc. of things at WW to show you how much this renovation is needed! Here's that bad WT fading/chipping/wearing I'm talking about. The new repaint should cover up all of that (except for the little white brake fin, I hope it stays!) This green fence has been worn so much it looks black ontop! I hope they fix 'malaria lake' as apart of the renovation as well, because it's just nasty. This photo shows you how much the details of toward the back of the WT station are neglected. I hope they address the issues (that I can see) with the WT train. It's not very clean, as you can see from the scuffing, the trim imperfections along the classic Arrow sidestripe, the paint fading on the floor, and the not-the-exact-same-red-as-the-rest-of-the-train restraint-mechanism coverings that are behind the headrests.
  6. Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way, Washington (my local park) posted some pictures on their Facebook page. The park is undergoing renovation for the 2010 season. Here is a link to the website. Wild Waves Facebook Page The exit gate is getting revamped. New, better cabanas are being built near the entrance. FINALLY! The kiddie complex that always had freezing a$$ water is getting a heater! All of the parks fences are being repainted (and I can tell you , they REALLY need it!). Probably the biggest change to a ride at the park, Wild Thing is getting a fresh coat of paint. You can see the new yellow paint on the left. Now they can't be sued by Valleyfair. The Kangaroos at Kangabounce are cold? Nope, just getting covered to protect them from the new paint. More fencework. You can see all of the area that was repainted on WT, so far. The games on the WT side of the midway have been repainted/resigned. But something's missing... Wanna know what it is? If you want to make it fun for yourself, go to one of my *wonderful* TRs and look for yourself! Or if you're boring, you can scroll down. If you looked through one of my TRs, you'd know that there used to be midway games, an arcade, and some entertaining 'feed the carp and watch them Roman Gladiator style fight-to-the-death for it' machines here. Well... they're gone. And I hope that they replace it with some sexy Intamin Mega-lite curvature in 2011! "Introducing our new Food Manager!!!" (No this is not a hazing ritual, all of the fulltime staff helps out with our offseason projects) This guy like fence. Do you like fence? If so, ask Robb if you can e-mail Dan! Some workers digging the land for the new cabanas. If you want to keep updated on Wild Waves's renovation, fan them on Facebook and keep an eye on their photos.
  7. Our family is heading to Las Vegas for Spring Break! I can't wait!
  8. This is pretty sad to hear, although I'm not really surprised.
  9. Utilizing the '100% Manly' thing.......
  10. Awesome TR! Is it just me, or did Colossus get a new paint job? (Probablly a dumb question, I've been a naughty boy by not keeping my SFMM knowledge up-to-date ) It looks a lot less faded than I remember, especially in the last photo.
  11. Really, I'm beginning to almost be disappointed by how many awesome TPR events I have to miss.
  12. Awesome report! It certainly did entertain.
  13. ^I talked with a staff member, and he says that the crowds are pretty rare, even during July. I suppose even the Intimidator crowds will have died down a little by then, if you're planning on visiting.
  14. Awesome video! Looks just as good as I expected it to be, maybe better.
  15. ^^One of the most awesome pictures since the Elissa SC/NC boob-on-border photo!
  16. It actually looks even better than I thought it would, and I thought it looked great to start with. I'm glad I'll be able to visit during early summer.
  17. My Coaster Expedition DVDs just came in, along with a park map for Sarkanniemi and some TPR Lip-Balm.
  18. Wow, this place has a drop tower? Interesting... Looks prett fun overall, especially the wiggle chips. Those look tasty.
  19. I finally have time (and a fixed display, I figured out that I don't need a new graphics card) for an update. Behind the lift shot of Sierra Sidewinder. Lots of coasters in this shot. Not as good as the one ontop of the Stratosphere, because it's not ontop of a 900ft tall building like the one ontop of the Stratosphere. "Touch my bee's nest, and I'll shred your face to bits!" Walking accross the pointless rope bridge into some pointless caves. Hello, diarreah as a result of eating food in Mexico when Montezuma isn't cool with you: the Ride! I'm ready and willing to ride you! Diarreah: the Ride's sign is looking good today. D:tR's train 'through the fence and parallel to the floor'. Ever seen a shot like this before? Very old, dirty looking brakes. Themeing from the 80's. FAIL! This has NOTHING to do with severe diarreah as a result of getting food poisoning in Mexico due to Montezuma being upset at you! Hello, American Bob! He's related to the Bob that currently lives at Walibi Belguim. He, like Belgian Bob, will accelerate you from 0-60 in about 3 seconds. Slower than Rick, but pretty fast considering that he was built in the 80's! Diarreah: through the hole. Patrick-Approved German ride. German pretzel-makers are awesome. Especially the one that managed the company that built this ride! My first credit on a Huss whateverit'scalled. In 2 minute's time, I shall be in a similar, sideways, spinning position. Overall, not bad. Not as dizzying as I expected, but more thrilling! My S&S Sense is tingling.... The lime green corner of the park. Mmm.... Pepsi or Intamin? I'll take Intamin, due to it's high adrenaline and airtime content... ...which I just realized was even higher in back! Me is exited by Swiss contraption. So am these peoples. Xcelerator, presented by: the Sun, blinding you and your loved ones for billions of years! Ready for unacceptably-wet Intamin goodness! Goin' up the lift. Goin' down the drop. 3 people on this ride just messed their pants with all the airtime. The rest won't notice because they'll be soaked! NOTED! We noticed that Xcelerator began slowing down. The it just quit working. Then our ride quit working! about 2 or 3 hours later, they began cycling boats. We just decided we'd rather do something better. Yes, this does in fact mean that BOTH of the park's major Intamin credits are closed. While I do approve of near-rollbacks, I do not approve of the ride shutting down, thus forcing me to miss the rollback. (We soon found out that this was the typical day at Knott's Berry Farm for most people. ) Still, at least we had a backup plan. 254ft of Morman dropping isn't as good as 2.3 seconds of Swiss acceleration, but it'll do. You can never have too many S&S-approve-thumb-ups, especially in California. Mom: I'm getting too old for this... Dad: Nobody stole some money out of the fanny pack, right? Random Old Lady: Shut up, lady back there, you think YOU'RE too old for this? As I said two photos ago.... For Cedar Fair Trash Can whores. Random Jaguar! track and supports. The Sierra Sidewinder sign, as we make our way out of the park. See 'ya later, not-so-Silver Bullet! More Asians? Seriously, the last time I was at this park there was an Asian tour group just like this one! (that's what was up with the PE train on my last KBF update) Some sexy n-s-SB rollage. And one last train. Goodbye, painful-ass CCI creation. See 'ya after your necessary re-tracking. My signature pointless 'out the gate' shot. For some reason, I love buying post cards of coasters/thrill rides and then doing absolutely nothing with them. A horrible coaster in every way but its looks. It seems that Californians have caught onto the Canadian-started trend of driving little buggies through parks. Yup, time to get back to the hotel and get some pizza or something! Later, KBF! Thank's for reading!
  20. Great photos! This makes me want to get the first ticket for WCB 2011 right now, even though I'll probably be in Italy then. I'll just have to sign up for BAB, hope it's as good as WCB. They seriously raced Colossus? I'd love to see pics from it, and the other ERT! That's cool that you got all the great backstage tours, especially the Metro one. Hope they fix it up and open it again so I won't need a backstage tour to see it.
  21. I personally don't care on the whole deal. I agree with Robb: I'll ride it first before I make an opinion on the restraints.
  22. Interesting. Literally, a 'vertical drop' down, although the way they said it made it sound like the first coaster to drop 90 degrees. Still, an interesting element that looked like it generated a lot of airtime! A pretty cool coaster overall.
  23. I just finished assembling our new office chair for our computer room. It's awesome! Comfortable, ergonomic, stylish, and technologically advanced. It's just like the one pictured below, but with black wheel struts and armrests instead of silver.
  24. ^^Yes, it is a good park when you can do everything. If you've never been, it can take at least 3 hours to check it all out. Also, Klondike Goldrusher is closed a lot. Being pretty unreliable, coupled to the fact that it can take months for Zamperla to make parts and send them to a park halfway around the world, causes a lot of downtime for it, as well as a lot of other WW rides. ^I can agree that it's a pretty well rounded park for not having many large coasters, but I personally think they could do a little better. A few simple thrill rides (like a Screamin' Swing and/or a Double Shot) could really improve the thrill value of the park. I've asked a lot of people I know that have been to the park, and many of them agree that it has a few too many kiddie rides and not enough of a good transition between family rides and highish-thrill coasters and a Skycoaster. Either way, I think its an enjoyable park when enough is open, but could just use a little more to make it great.
  25. I thought for a second this was the Strawberry Festival on Vashon Island that my friend talks about. But this look way better! Cobra scrotum, trophy racks, full moons, strawberry shortcakes with unlimited strawberry... that sounds EPIC!
