Its crazy that they cleared that much land just for the water park. That is a massive plot of land. -
We missed you by a day. We just tried it yesterday. Both Bill and I enjoyed it. Only bummer was that I wanted to buy a sixer to take home and it can't be bought anywhere in the park as a souvenir.

Made our annual trip out to the Lake Compounce today and it was a perfect day to take in the park. Crowds were light and the weather was perfect. I'm a huge fan of Lake Compounce so combined with the weather and light crowds the trip was a huge success. Boulder Dash is still batsh*t crazy and Phobia was delivering forceful rides as usual. On top of getting multiple rides on those two we took a spin on the flume, rapids, Downtime, Ghost Hunt, Zoomerang (unfortunately) and the chairlift. After years of going to the park I finally took a spin on Downtime and I have to say it is an awesome S&S Tower with a great drop and theming that actually works. Also, the revamped Ghost Hunt was very fun! Better than when I previously rode in which it was very pathetic. We kept the tradition of eating at Pinks. I had my usual go too of a Chili Cheese Dog with Onion Rings. I tried the new Lake Compounce beer by Thomas Hooker Brewing Co. and it was a pretty tasty blonde ale. The Chairlift is a must ride, its a great way to relax and take in the natural beauty of the area. The question I have though is that a huge area of land has been cleared behind the water park. I'm guessing there will be a water park expansion but it is a massive amount of land for just that. Does anyone know anything else? Wildcat was closed but crews were out there with a cherry picker on the lift hill. I'm not sure if it will be open in time for the 4th of July at this rate. Anyway..On to the photos! One Hundred and Seventy years of operation, very impressive. Hot new signage. The standard money shot with a newly tracked Wildcat in the background. Why we keep coming back. The front row was closed, anyone have any idea why? Off they go into the wild. (They grow up so fast) Orange Scribble: The Ride Artsy Shot. Downtime, the ringing clock at the top before you drop is quite un-nerving. It's cool how the hands on the giant clock actually move. The only option. There is literally a light shining down on it. It's that good. Brillant. Color me impressed with the renovated Ghost Hunt. Except for this part. No idea why Mark Twain and Huckle Berry Finn are trying to shoot ghosts. Purty. Arrow = Thumbs Up It looks way way way way way way better than it rides. Fresh Track. It is a very good looking rapids ride with the perfect amount of wetness. If you visit Lake Compounce I recommend you take the time out to ride the Chairlift, awesome views. Crews working on Wildcat. It looks like it should be good once it opens. I bid thee farewell with this photo. -

Damn, Im going to do my best to get down there this summer and ride Nor'Easter. Every ride I've had on it the past decade was a car crash. Atmosphere is terrifying, all Larson ARMS are. Also, those donuts look fantastic. -

... is ridiculous when you haven't even experienced it. I'm sure this ride is still awesome. Honestly I was never overly impressed with the first drop anyway. It's fun, but not in the same league as a ride like El Toro. I'm sure the second half of the ride is still balls out insane, and that's the best part anyway. This reminds me of when they slowed down El Toro's lift and everone lost their collective sh*t. In my experience it didn't change the ride experience at all. This might be a slightly more noticeable change (emphasis on might) but I'm sure this is easily still the best coaster at Dollywood (and I love every single coaster at Dollywood). PS: Oh, and stop acting like this is coming from "multiple sources", chickenbowl is totally right... you posted it here because Coaster Studios posted it. I won't hate on Coaster Studios but it's run by one (I think) college kid who hasn't even personally ridden the new version and is operating on hearsay. So basically you're going to accept mediocrity? Sorry but I don't. I think it's a terrible idea to slow the ride down. "Accepting mediocrity", dude relax its a roller coaster. I highy doubt its a medicore ride now cause they made one slight change to the ride. Parks have made changes to El Toro, Maverick, I305 and Skyrush, they're all still great. Even if he was "accepting mediocrity" (Whatever that means) its not like you have the option to change the ride back. It is what it is. If it gets their huge investment running consistantly who cares? Intamin didn't mess with the very concept of the rides. Neither did RMC. It is still a launched wooden coaster so whats your point? -

The price of an RMC now sure as sh*t not what it used to be. If the cheaper option at this point would be another S&S 4-D. -

That's a fun little tattoo! Thanks, decided to get in on a whim in New Orleans. -
Nick and I took a trip down to Great Adventure this evening after work for the Justice League pass holder preview. I'll keep the main focus on this due to the fact the rest of the day was pretty standard in that El Toro/Batman kicked ass, Nitro was solid and Joker/Zumanjaro pulled genuine screams out of us. As for Justice League, I must admit going into today I did not know what to expect. I never thought I'd be riding a dark ride at Great Adventure, but I went in with an open mind. First off, it was awesome seeing finished paths and a ride where Old Country once was. It was trippy boarding a ride back there for the first time in more than a decade. Before entering the Justice League themed area you cross a bridge which is pretty nice looking. Once on the other side there are two snack stands and a bathroom. Next to these there was a little station and a DJ booth where Dip & Dots and fudge was being given away which was awesome. The queue line and theming around it was nicely done and the show building looked great, I just hope they can maintain it before it turns into a sh*tshow. Once inside the building there is a tv explaining the backstory, banners and a marble looking statue of a few superhero's. After you pass the switchbacks groups of 1-2 riders and 3 or more are split up into two lines. The station was really cool with a Cyborg animatronic that was pretty lifelike. As for the ride experience itself, I was very very impressed. It was so much fun with a long ride cycle and more practical effects than I anticipated. Overall I think it is an A+ addition and a must ride if you're at the park. It is good to have that side of the park back! The only notable thing upon entering. Metro-Narrows Bridge Metro Grill, the first of two snack stands. Restrooms Second new snack stand Nice looking area Free Fudge...... And Free Dip & Dots, FREE things from Six Flags?! Exit through the gift shop of course. Remnants of Old Country New views of the Ferris Wheel Tribute to Chiller's Observatory. Inside portion of the queue "Marble" Justice Leaguers Pre-Show, no I did not pay attention (Sorry Nerds, I don't care) The station was awesome with a great Cyborg animatronic. The million dollar cars. Ride entrance After we paid tribute to Adam West Never enough DC theming I guess The one and only Ended the day with two laps on Toro

How will kids ever learn the magical qualities of the almighty hog? As someone who loves any food pork related this is a tragedy. I love pork so much I go a hog tattooed on my ankle. Power of the pig! -
