  1. I would definitely prefer a snakeless snake round up! *shiver* Glad I've encouraged you to go to your local events! Looking forward to seeing your adventures! Onions...yum!
  2. I have not eaten at a Waffle House in ages. It will be interesting to see a TPR Waffle House experience.
  3. Thanks! I would like to have ridden some things myself, but the lines were so long and we didn't have anyone to watch the kids, so we had to pass.
  4. Great wrap up! That motel owner was awesome to do that for you guys! Glad everyone had a great time!
  5. Last year when we went to SFOG I told my husband the only way I was getting on Ninja was in that specific seat, and I didn't have to take an Advil after it. Even rode it again later in the day.
  6. It made me sad, too. Unfortunately this one is pretty popular. The sad, sad people of Alabama just don't get it. Thanks! Yes the crowds were not fun. But on a Saturday in hick-town Alabama there's nothing better to do. I believe there were chocolate Dippin' Dots, but considering where we were, there very well may not have been. I was really hoping they would have it again so that I could get some pictures and video of it in action. But it was replaced with the Rock-O-Plane.
  7. So we went and checked out the Alabama Chocolate Festival on Saturday afternoon. A friend of mine aptly described it as the gateway to hell (because of the huge crowds). We've never been before, but we had heard that there was very little chocolate to be found anywhere. It was true. There supposedly was a chocolate milk drinking contest and a chocolate bake-off earlier in the day, but we missed those. We saw one table with a sign that said "Free Chocolate," and one vendor selling fried chocolate pies. Other than that we saw no chocolate. But really we only went to let the kids ride the ghetto fair rides again, so on to the pictures. Vendors. This is pretty much all the festival was aside from the concerts and rides. A freaky flat Easter bunny. The most realistic temporary tattoos, like, ever. This is the classy assortment of vendors present. More vendors. More vendors. Pretty exciting stuff here. Crossing through parking lot traffic to the ride area. Somebody is a little TOO into Easter. It looks like the Easter Bunny threw up on this car. Thunder Bolt. Same as last week. And the line, it was all the way across the parking lot. Carousel #1. Hmmm, I wonder what they sell here. Snacks. Sadly, no deep-fried cookie dough at any snack stand. Don't know the name of it. The crowds were so bad you could barely walk around, so I wasn't going to hunt the ride signs. Again, don't know the name. I just snapped pictures as quickly as I could so we could get our rides in and leave. Whatever this is, going up. Super Shot, same as last week. They didn't have an Astro Wheel this week. But they did have a Rock-O-Plane. Teacups. This was the one thing the girls were most excited to ride. Fun House. Ally on Carousel #2. Cammy on Carousel #2. Kiddie Coaster. Whole train. Coming around the curve. Blurry shot of my Dippin Dots. Danny. The girls eating their Dippin Dots. Next weekend is the Noccalula Barbecue Festival, so expect a report from that, too. Hopefully there will actually be some barbecue!
  8. More great updates. Love the cuteness overload. That's really awesome that you get to just walk freely in the habitat.
  9. Another awesome update! That mouse looks like a lot of fun!
  10. Awesome update! Just looking at Giant Drop makes me dizzy. That koala looks so relaxed with Amy! Another great installment.
  11. I've never been on a flowrider. I have a feeling I would fail miserably. That's awesome that they let you be in the dinner show!
  12. Jet Rescue really looks like a lot of fun! Loving the updates!
  13. I was on a band trip in Orlando right around this same time. (I've done a retro TR with my photos). But we only went to Magic Kingdom. I remember seeing Hulk in passing and wishing we could go there instead! Nice pictures!
  14. Watched How Do You Know last weekend. Danny actually stayed awake for a whole chick flick, and even laughed at several parts. I love Paul Rudd. Weekend before last we rented Winter's Bone, and After.Life (yes, there's supposed to be a period between the words, I don't know why). Danny was exhausted and didn't make it through either movie, so I ended up watching both by myself. Winter's Bone was good, but very slow. After.Life was better, with a slightly disturbing ending. Liam Neeson was awesome, as usual. And you see A LOT of Christina Ricci's boobs, though it's not in a provocative way, but more of a corpsey way.
  15. At first glance I thought the Astro Wheel cars flipped upside down, sort of a Zipper combo, too. But passing by it everyday and seeing people on it I saw that they didn't actually go upside down, but they did rock A LOT. And they are facing each other, so that in one seat you'd be going backwards. Looked interesting. Certainly not your average ferris wheel. I wish people had been on it when we were there. I couldn't bring myself to get on it. Last time I was on a regular ferris wheel last summer (at Lake Winnie), I panicked. Terrified of heights, especially if you linger up there for a while. Coasters don't bother me because you don't stay stuck up there for a long time! This same traveling group will be at another location in town a few miles away this Saturday at the chocolate festival. If they have the Astro Wheel up again, maybe I'll be able to get a picture (or video) with people on it. The weather is supposed to be much better this weekend than it was last weekend.
  16. Hmmm...I've had lemonade made in front of you, but I've never heard it called that before. Interesting. Good to know!
  17. I'm surprised my report posted! I kept getting error messages and refreshing the page and nothing worked. I was coming back to try it again and surprise, it's already here! If it posted multiple times I apologize. And yes, wind and sugar are fun!
  18. There was a traveling fair in town this past week and we passed by it every day and my kids were dying to go. So on a cold and damp Sunday afternoon we checked it out. Typical fair stuff. Danny and I didn't ride anything, but the girls had a good time. And the same fair will be a few miles away this coming weekend at the Alabama Chocolate Festival. So I guess we'll have to go again or I'll never hear the end of it from the kids. Lots of festivals and stuff coming up in Gadsden, so I'll probably be doing some more reports. We have First Friday this Friday (obviously), then the Chocolate Festival Saturday, then the Noccalula Barbecue Festival on the 8th and 9th. I plan to attend all of these and gain 10 pounds. Anyway, on to the pictures. Gasp! It's the Midway. Jeeps. The sign on the gate just said "Barbie." I'm sure it's an officially licensed ride. Gamma 7 Anti-Gravitational Device...also known as a Round Up. Here you can also see the "Barbie" jeep sign. Pirate Boats with no canopy. This was their last day in this location so I suppose they had already started disassembling stuff. Snacks. I don't know what a "Lemonade Shake-Up" is. Now, here we have the "Vettes and Jeeps," not be confused with "Barbie." Super Shot. Don't think you'll catch me on it. Yes, I am a wuss. Super Shot again. More food. I believe they had three or four snack stands. Ice Cream Truck. You can barely see Ally's little head in the front seat, and you can't see Cammy at all! I was afraid they would be scared when it went up, but they loved it! Gold Fish game. Ally wanted a fish. We told her we have sea monkeys and that's close enough! Basketball game #1. Astro Wheel. No thanks! I am white-knuckled on any wheel of any significant height. Swings. Rainbow Wheel. The girls at the top. They loved it! Super Trooper. This think looked like it went really fast. Never been on one and it was too cold out to try it now. Thunder Bolt, with a lovely view of the porta-potties. Screamatorium, with officially licensed characters of course. Basketball game #2. I'm guessing the name of this is "Slime." I don't know what would give me that idea. Cammy got off and said "I guess it was fun." They're not really big fans of spinning rides. One more shot of the Gamma 7 Anti-Gravitational Device, just for good measure. Happy girls on the pink pirate boat. "Banana" slide. I don't know. Waiting for a funnel cake. Danny waiting. Deep fried cookie dough on a stick, a/k/a Heaven. Funnel cake on a car! Mmmm...so good! And in closing, here's a tip: Don't eat items smothered in confectioner's sugar on a windy day!
  19. Been following the pictures on facebook. Great job! Looks like an amazing time!
  20. It was our first time to go there and we LOVED it! We'll definitely be going back this year!
  21. I've already said it once, but I'll say it again: I'm honored to be your first interview! And it's awesome that you put a clip of Barefoot in the Park in there!! Amazing job!
  22. I've recently become addicted to Gillian Welch. Listening to "One Monkey" from her album Soul Journey.
  23. This is really scary. You have to think, how often does this happen and no one ever finds out. These inspectors are taking people's lives into their hands. Granted one might think, oh, it's only a kiddie train ride, it can't be that dangerous, but obviously we see that it can and was. I hope other inspectors never take these things so lightly.
  24. Gertrude is awesome! Best WCB report I've seen!
