  1. So far it isn't too bad here. Started snowing around 2pm, but its barely laying in the streets as of now. Hopefully it won't be too bad, I don't feel like breaking out the snowblower. An hour later, a little more snow As of 3:30
  2. ^I think the problem Disney is having finding sponsorship is because they want way too much money for the sponsors, and a lot of the rides lacking sponsors are very dated and the potential sponsors don't want to spend that much money on a ride that people really don't ride that often, ie Wonders of Life. Its funny how SF is now attempting the family approach, yet even at Disney World, its the thrill rides like Test Track, RnRC, and ToT that have the longest waits and are the first ones to run out of fast passes.
  3. "Ocean"- Cold
  4. Derek presents: "My night out!" Since The Works has gotten to be super smoke-filled with slow wait service, we decided to move down the street to the Viva Good Life Lounge. And WOW, what a difference! (At least in beer selection) The finest of the Lambic ales. I'm punching out for the night. Its time to call it a night, but first, some dessert beer! One sip too many, and now I'm in hell I must be in heaven OMG, this place not only has Rogue and Victory, but it also has Stone IPA. Are you sure I'm not dead?? Dave says "talk to the Hand" because his Molsen told him to One of our finest nurses, Cindy, has clearly had 1 too many Long Island Iced Teas Ok, starting to feel slightly pale, coming down with the "flu" Next up, Flying Fish Extra Pale Ale, good in those winter months when we're extra pale from lack of sun Yeah, I's be happy, living guy holding a dead guy Started out with a Rogue's Dead Guy Ale, can't beat that!
  5. Crap, I'm supposed to fly out to San Francisco for some pyxis machine meeting in either March or April, but that Friday is out because I know I have a prior meeting down in Philly. Guess I'll just have to drink green beer and eat a cheesesteak instead. Sounds awesome though, Wally, right up my alley.
  6. Its the weekend, and I have almost 2 hours until my night out begins. Thats 2 hours more than I should have to wait for a beer on a Friday night. So, since I'm home, and pretty much ready to go, why not! Its not going to be as beerrific as last weekend, but it IS supposed to snow like 6-8 inches here, so I have nothing else to do but drink and drink some more Victory Hop Wallop, saving the HopDevil for the lil lady
  7. ^^Nope, a whole new girlfriend, who actually likes rock music and the occasional beer (and NOT Coors Lite, etc!) Its only been 3 dates (in 3 days), but she seems like a keeper, especially when she got excited about me having HopDevil!
  8. While I would love to see BGW get some sort of Intamin Accelerator or B&M Dive Machine or looper, I don't think the park is THAT desperate for a coaster. Sure, in times where most park's solution to dwindling attendance is "add another multi-million dollar coaster", Busch throws in a show or two, rethemes an area, adds some animal stuff, and THEN goes balls out getting a super big ride that draws lots of crowds. And to top it off, the park really isn't suffering attendance-wise I don't believe. I'm sure we'll see another coaster added by 2009, but I think BGW is a little leary of adding another big space consuming coaster if the public isn't going to go gaga over it, ala Drachen Fire. They kinda rushed into that project and it backfired on them, instead of being patient and having the next Kumba. When they do finally add another coaster, more than likely its gonna be a big hit, but thats part of their theory: "if we keep giving them filet mignon every day, its not anything special, but if you're used to spagetti-o's and we give you steak only so often, you'll come running to the dinner table." I guess I'm still hungry.
  9. Earl is one of the guilty pleasures each week. I manage to forget about it until the night its actually on, unlike Lost or House, but each week I'm laughing almost the whole time. Tonight's episode was great, too bad there won't be anymore until March, stupid Olympics.
  10. My usual is 2 a day, unless I'm training for some special drinking event. I guess I stay thin thanks to good genetics and the metabolism of a hummingbird. If I don't drink my weight in beer each day, I'll die. Though I chose a Celebration Ale. For dinner I made some fondue with a white wine. The gf had some zinfandel to drink with it.
  11. OK, didn't take me long once I got home to find something worth drinking (you'd think I had lots of beer floating around or something!) Decided to start off easy with something I've never had before, the Lancaster Gold Star Pilsner. Pretty good all around crisp beer, very easy to drink, not too hoppy, more malty but not too malty, just a nice balance. Not too bad, extremely easy to drink! (I think I finished it in 4 minutes, not chugging!) If they gave these gold stars for getting 100% on tests, I bet more kids would study harder!
  12. "Crazy"- Mushroomhead (a cover of Seal's version, sweet stuff, lots of anger, perfect for my work environment)
  13. Naked Fish is awesome stuff, Heath! We had some a few years ago at the Post Eastcoaster Party when Walt brought some up. Unfortunately, because they moved Eastcoaster ahead a week, we missed out on it again this year. If they bottled that stuff, I'd be having it all the time! As far as the Storm King goes, yeah, 9.1% is a little high to be consuming 3 of them in a short amount of time. You must learn the gifts of pacing, savoring the flavoring, and enjoyment of the current beer, not worrying about the next one. Until you have learned these key techniques, I am going to be forced to take the Storm King away from you. Don't worry, I won't drink all of them I'm still not certain what I'll drink tonight, but it'll be good!
  14. I've been inspired tonight: I'm calling it a night. Peace out homeys. w00t! Definitely one of my top 5 beers This one's for my disciples all over the world!
  15. Hooray for disciples! Today I found out some great news for my Oktoberfest trip, so it was only fitting that I celebrate with an Oktoberfest type beer. I was also seeking a good beer to use in making beer bread. I took care of both tasks with one quick trip to the beer fridge! So happy I've got a spot in a beer tent in Munich! Victory's Festbier, not as good as the Dark Lager, but better than the Regular Lager
  16. "We Built This City"- Starship Its gonna be a good day!
  17. A very nice first PTR. Its nice to see BGT is as empty as usually expected during the offseason, even on Sheikra! Funny captions too, keep up the good work! mmmmmm.....beer tree.
  18. Wow, all white is pretty, yet simple and boring. Oh well, at least this way you won't be able to see all the seagull crap. If Morey's does half as good a job lighting this at night as they do with the new light package on the Wheel, it'll look really good at night!
  19. "Slipping Away"- Dope
  20. At least you got to visit with one of your many fans, Robb. I'm deeply touched that Non-German Tom thinks of me while enjoying a Lion bar, though I wish he'd think of me while having a Double Magnum instead...those things are perfect, just like me! Keep the updates coming! Does your room at least have HCBP on the tele? How ironic, I was thinking of Tom while Shockwave was finishing off my latest beer!
  21. Time to reaquaint my palete with the taste of Lancaster Milk Stout, a beer I first remember being pretty tasty at the beer festival back in November. Its a pretty good stout. At least this one doesn't require an ice cream sandwich to give it flavor. Yes, after my first beer of the evening, I decided to cut my hair. But back to the beer in hand... Its got a cow on it.....oooh and its brewed with Lactose, something I'm allergic to! This should be fun.
  22. ^Well in that case, pull up a chair! We're starting off tonight with some California dreaming. Imagine celebrating the season in the Sierra Nevada's, drinking one heck of a good seasonal ale, 'cause thats what I'm doing now! Sadly, it may be sunny, but it sure ain't warm, and its pretty winter-like outside. Oh well, at least I'm at home drinking a beer, and not at work! Ooooh it looks so purty with the sun shining on it
  23. Derek goes back to his one true love... Life is good again! Hop Devil is perfectly fine with Derek taking pictures of it outside its bottle Hop Devil! Look at the happy couple
  24. Wow, its good to see my favorite looper get some love. Back in October it looked rough, but it still rode as forceful as ever, even if there were some bumpy spots. I know it'll probably fade a bit before I get back there, but I can't wait to see it in person. Those are really nice comparisons, Erik!
  25. Sucks that you're there, Robb, but look on the brightside, at least you're not some place else that you totally hate, like Quebec or worse, Los Angeles! I hope you give lots of random TRs with butter, your head in a safe, and funny signs. Hopefully you'll at least have time to go dorking.
