Excellant photo's!! Makes me want to return soon!!

Im not a disney fanatic though im a disney fan as well as a Universal fan and visit both parks when i go to FLA and stay on site at USF due to fotl!! But the only attraction of note that has been added in the last couple of years is The Mummy coaster which is great, but nothing big has been added to IOA in a LONG TIME. Does anyone think USF wants to offer this deal??? They would much perfer that people would be willing to pay the current price they charge than have to offer this deal in a attempt to get people into the park. It is a great deal and hope they have it when i visit,

What's Everyone Doing For Labor Day Weekend?
Bob O replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I work Friday/Sat/ and Sunday. If the weather is nice I will try to go to SFGAM, but right now they are predicating a 60% chanvce of rain so i dont know if i will risk a 45 minute drive to just get wet with rides closed etc. -
Mt Olympus & Timber Falls 8-15-06
Bob O replied to a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The reality is this is a US park and if someone does get hurt they will sue the park and win alot of money!!! Wisc. is a liberal state that likes to give out big jury awards and when one points out the lack of standards at this park as compared to the industry standard they wont have a leg to stand on unless there is undeniable prrof of rider error. -
How is this park and how busy does it get??? I dont know alot about this park but im planning to go there next year.

2006 Golden Ticket Awards
Bob O replied to coasterdave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It seems to me that way too many people look at last years winners and vote and just blindly vote for the same ones. And they seem to have a bias against large parks which explains why Disney parks win soo few awards let win where it really counts and that is at thwe turnstyle/cash register!! -

Very good report!!! While Mt. Olympus has some good coasters, the way it is run and the way the employee's do there job is a disaster waiting to happen. Apparently managment has never been to another park, or they dont care at all about customer service. -

http://www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=38745 Fallujah amusement park now a no-fun zone Marines inspect park once used as insurgent staging area By Monte Morin, Stars and Stripes A Marine walks beneath a Ferris wheel in Fallujah recently. FALLUJAH, Iraq — As any Marine will tell you, Iraq is no walk in the park. Unless of course the park in question happens to be a suspected hiding place for insurgent weapons and a launch site for mortar attacks. With an eye out for insurgent snipers and other threats, Marines with the 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment swept through this city’s derelict Jolan Park on Saturday, peeking inside faded kiddy rides, down suspicious dirt holes and into crumbling concrete buildings in search of weapons. The park, which was an area of heavy fighting in the battle to recapture Fallujah from insurgents in the fall of 2004 — or what Marines refer to as “The Push” — is an eerie collection of brightly colored, bullet-pocked rides that you would expect to find at a traveling carnival in the States. “This isn’t Six Flags, I’ll say that,” joked Capt. Brendan Fogerty, 30, a resident of South Boston and the commander of 1st Platoon, Weapons Company. Fogerty and his men didn’t find any weapons, but what they did find gave a whole new meaning to the term Point of Origin or “POO” site — the label the military uses for areas where the enemy launches mortar attacks. “Whoa! It smells really bad in here,” Sgt. Tim Wittmer, 26, of Peoria, Ill., said as he stepped from a small concrete building. “It looks like people are using this as a bathroom.” The 1-25, a Marine reserve unit headquartered in Massachusetts, has been dubbed “New England’s Own.” The unit, which falls under Regimental Combat Team 5, is responsible for keeping the peace in Fallujah along with Iraqi army and Iraqi police units. A one-time insurgent stronghold, Fallujah now has some of the most stringent security policies in Iraq. All entry points to the city are staffed by U.S. and Iraqi military and police, and residents and merchants must present a badge to enter. Also, ownership of firearms has been banned entirely here. For Marines like Wittmer, whose first Marine tour was during The Push, the change in the city has been tremendous. “They’ve made a lot of economic progress here and there’s a lot of construction going on,” Wittmer said. “It’s good to be able to see that … also, what I’m doing here is very different from the first time I was here. Now my role is policing the city, not attacking it.” Insurgents still launch mortar, roadside bomb and sniper attacks on Marines and Iraqi security forces on a daily basis. A Weapons Company Marine was killed by small arms fire a couple weeks ago. “All in all we have our daily incidents, but Fallujah is a comparatively safe place, especially compared to Baghdad,” said Lt. Col. Nathan Nastase, RCT-5 Operations Officer. “For most of this war, at least since 2004, this area has been a focal point of the insurgency,” Nastase said. “Initially, it was a stronghold. Now, according to the deputy prime minister, Fallujah is the model city.” © 2006 Stars and Stripes. All Rights Reserved.

BGE Voted "Worlds" Best Themepark
Bob O replied to Jon Sabo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I find the site interesting to look at and read some of the comments, but dont find find the site itself to be useful in doing research for a park that i have never visited before. If i remember correctly the guy who runs the site was a reporter for the LA Times which may be why they get alot of media attention. As for the question, I really like BGE and it is one of my favorite parks, but i wouldnt vote it as the best park. I would have voted for one of the disney parks as being the best. -
Which US park should I visit?
Bob O replied to MrMorgan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My first choice would have been to go to Orlando and spend one day hitting the best of wdw with a all parks pass and then go to USF the 1/2 day. I wouldnt chose the options you did, Instead i would to go Virginia and hit Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Paramounts Kings Dominion. BGW is a excellant all around park and PKD has some very good rides so you could enjoy some excellant parks and also get in some credits also. -

Great photo's!! Does anyone know what is going in that location once the park is blown up?? -
I read in your recent e-maill about the shirts going fast. So i I was going to order some more but i see that you have no more adult large t-shirts left. Are you going to be getting any more in with this design, or replacing them with a new design?? And how much bigger is a ex-large than a large??

Great photo's and video's, i cant wait for my visit this coming August!! -
If i had to pick one park it would be The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in FLA at is has a great atmopshere with great rides and the bext overall experience. I think visiting Orlando FLA would be the best place to go as you can choose between 4 different Disney parks, 2 Universal Parks and Busch Gardens Tampa is only a couple of hours away and you can get shuttle service back and forth. And think that area offer the best parks that are real close together which makes for easy/cheap travel. Other parts of the US may have beter coaster combinations but the distance you travel will be longer.
