  1. We were there. There were also 2 other people in the park who looked remarkably like us who we later found out might be serial killers. You had a 50/50 shot. I'm glad I made it home alive then I'd enjoy sharing a beer if I run into you guys again. Feel like it would be an entertaining few minutes at the very least. I realized on the drive home that I got more days at GADV this year than at SFNE. Hard to explain to most people why I voluntarily drove down to New Jersey 3 times in 6 months. And those trips will only increase when Devil gets up and running.
  2. Hit the park 1-4 today. Solo ride in front row of Green Lantern to start the day, actually had a nice ride on it. Small crowd early but picked up toward sunset. No Nitro marathon as the station had people in it, mainly due to some guy whose kid was an inch too short to ride so he argued with the ops for 5 minutes until they called security. He then gave up, sat down, and made his small kid take the walk of shame alone lol. Think I saw Coasterbill and Boldikus at one point but in the interest of it possibly not being them I didnt want to be that guy who walks up to someone and it's not even them. But you guys should know that I always check your TRs before going to a park for food and beverage advice and the bacon wrapped pork kabobs might be the best find yet. Literally sticks of heaven. You guys should be on travel channel instead of Guy Fieri because your food reviews are always spot on. Onto the offseason...my next coaster rides might be in Cali for the first time, pretty pumped about that.
  3. Here right now...in the 40s and no crowd. Perfect. Was in the park 6 to 9 tonight. Longest line I waited in was 2 cycles for Wonder Woman. Got a 9 lap marathon on Nitro in the final 45 minutes without leaving the station. Couldn't fit on Batman with my winter coat so only one cold ride on that. Sky Screamer was terrific above the lit trees. I'll be back tomorrow until about 5.
  4. With all that closed the least they could do is open Tornado and hand everyone a tube. And a waiver. In all seriousness they usually do a good job getting things open here too but last weeks storm was a couple inches of snow, then a few hours of freezing rain and then more snow. And then Arctic air for a few days made the snow hard as a rock. If it was stuck to any tracks, it wasnt coming off without a lot of work.
  5. I heard they're trading Phoenix to Lakemont Park for Toboggan.
  6. Meh...SFNE had Blizzard River open last year in early April the day after 3" of snow fell (and hadn't melted yet) and it was 35 degrees. And people rode it for some reason. A Log Flume in the 50s? Childs play. Lol
  7. Last time I rode it, it spun moderately and then spun fast the other way for about 5 or 6 swings when it was at max height. Now it spins at that max speed for a good minute but like I said, nowhere close to as high as it used to get. Haven't been on Canobies in a long time either but from what I remember they both spin at about the same speed. Park is closed today so turns out yesterday was the de facto closing day. Glad I got that last Superman ride in.
  8. Yeah...walked up there around 9:30 and the line was almost full. Wouldve been a long wait with one train. It was nice that they put a sign out front explaining that this was occurring. Did get a Superman ride later on tonight. Line died down to the final set of switchback, although had a very quick breakdown and then had to deal with exit passes almost every train. It was hauling tonight for sure. Rode some of the older flats for the first time in years. Got a nice long cycle on Crime Wave. Rode Kontiki for the first time in many years, was very surprised at how smooth it is tracking. Glad theyre taking care of it considering 98% of the park patrons have no idea its even there. Also first time on Tomahawk in many years. Its almost laughable how low to the ground it stays now, but at least they run it at max spin for a good while.
  9. Here right now. Very busy as expected. Superman, Riddled, Goliath, and Cyclone all approaching 2 hour lines. Kind of leisurely wandering around hitting small lines like Crime Wave, Kontiki, and Tomahawk. Even Thunderbolts usually trusty 30 minute line is almost an hour.
  10. Admittedly it's been 10 years since I rode Boulder Dash so my opinion would likely be much worse if I rode it now, but when it was at its glory Boulder Dash at night was pretty much unbeatable, even by Phoenix. And then when it was over you could reride it instead of calling 911 for your new rib injury or because you just railroaded the train coming off the transfer track.
  11. Millennium Force: Ride of Steel. Batman's Vengeance Six Flags Cedar Point just has a weird feel to it. Sorry... BATMAN Vengeance
  12. This needs a headphone warning lol
  13. Maybe they'll remove Goliath and put Kryptonite Kollider in its spot...since it doesnt look way out of place on a much larger pad or anything.
  14. Or they could do a massive refurbishment like Wildwood did with the Nor Easter Hey now...they already somehow magically cured Mind Eraser of all its ills, lets not get too carried away. It would take some kind of act of God to get goliath running smoothly again.
  15. It would be very un-Six Flags to give you a quicker route around the games area.
  16. I like how Six Flags used the same rendering for multiple flat rides. SFSTL has the same generic looking brown wooden coaster behind the new ride.
  17. I'm glad we're not La Ronde. Also, I hope with the updated DC area that they'll change the name of GCGEFAA to something with less than 40 letters in it.
  18. Be great if instead of an RMC they announced a B&M Giga and everyone here lost their mind.
  19. Facebook says "Stay tuned for a MEGA announcement a week from today." MEGA Larson Loop confirmed.
  20. This thread is making me sad. I was in SLC for a ski trip in March. Drove up to Jackson Hole for the weekend and on the way back into SLC on a Sunday Night I drove right by Lagoon and was surprised to see it already open. If I has known it opened in March I wouldve planned a day there. I always thought it was a tiny park but now after reading reading this thread I missed a good one. Next time I guess.
  21. So I talked to the Dippin Dots guy and he said we're all wrong. Theyre replacing Goliath with a 252 foot tall Screaming Squirrel featuring 8 inversions!
  22. Or they bought Firehawk from Kings Island so they can continue their quest to be the first park to contain 252 Vekomas.
  23. No way. A 252 foot tall Larson Loop (in the Rockville Gymnasium spot so it's close to Fireball) is the only logical explanation.
  24. be warned. .it's August/early Sept, so gonna be HOT. hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. and if the water park is not open (water park is only open daily thru 8/16, then goes to weekends only for 3 weeks before closing for season)? crowd will be insane, as the waterpark draws a lot of the crowd in the heat. on the + side, maybe Iron Rattler will be back to 2 train operations (supposed to happen by end of August). .and THIS is now open (pic from my visit yesterday): Hopefully it doesn't Great Adventure itself by then and try to pop out of the ground.
