  1. Congratulations Xpress, you had a nice coaster.
  2. Finally done! Expect an actual thread tomorrow, with pictures. Wild.nltrack
  3. ^ You are right that those rides will make the park better, especially if they are done well. However, the problem with this park is the tacky look of most of the attractions. For example, look at Mickey's Fun Wheel's queue, the canvas makes it look really tacky. And as EBL pointed out, it gets really hot in the queue (and all of Paradise Pier) in the summer. The problem with the park is the actual design and infrastructure. This is something that a few rides will not fix. To be able to even compete with DL, the park will have to add things like the coverings over the queue of the ferris wheel. Another thing to point out, it will look weird to see the new Victorian design of the Orange Stinger, then see the tacky queue of Mickey's Fun Wheel, then see more Victorian themed buildings on the other side of Paradise Pier.
  4. Not bad for your first NL coaster. It could have done with a little bit of smoothing (ctrl + g on windows), but overall it was a decent coaster. I was actually kind of impressed.
  5. I now present to you SuperCharge! It is custom supported for the most part and has a 70 mph launch combined with a 170 foot lift hill! The beginning of the ride. The overbanked turn and corkscrew. The last half of the ride. SuperCharge.nltrack SuperCharge
  6. MSN had an article on the "Super-smasher" as well. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24525554/ Just for your information, it is going to take months to get this up to full speed. We might not get black holes for a couple years.
  7. I'd sign up for the game, sounds like a good idea to me.
  8. I'm a fan of the supports on the lift hill, but not so big on the tunnel. Keep up the good work!
  9. Not bad for your first steel coaster. Some things that could have been fixed: -Station should be lower to the ground. -Straight lift hill. This can be accomplished by splitting the lift hill into 3 sections, then straightening the middle section. -Some sections needed to be smoothed. -Ride was really slow during the first 5 inversions. -First drop was not nearly steep enough. -The trains are 8 cars, not 6. On the contrary, the elements seemed proportional to eachother. 5/10
  10. That was one messed up inversion, lol. The ride was solid, but I wasn't fond of the banking at the bottom of some of the hills.
  11. More coverage of the earthquake: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25918120?GT1=43001 www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/25918303#25918303
  12. At the moment those are just working colors. The final colors will be chosen later.
  13. Today, I present to you the beginnings of my new B&M coaster, a sit-down inspired by the new Led Zeppelin coaster at Hard Rock Park. The finished support work on the lift hill. A train accelerating towards the first inversion, a vertical loop. As you can see, I have yet to add the supports to the first drop. Stay tuned for more...
  14. moneycentral.msn.com/detail/stock_quote?Symbol=SIX Well, as of now, the stocks are 77% up from yesterday's close. I tend to call that an improvement.
  15. Angel Stadium - I absolutely love this park. Of course I have a biased opinion being an Angels fan, but it is still a beautiful stadium with a mix of original things like the Big A outside the stadium and the new things like the fountains in center field. Petco Park - A beautiful facility in Downtown San Diego, a great place to view a game. Personally, I am not fond of the center field area, but I still like the stadium. Dodger Stadium - Not the best-looking stadium, but one of the most recognizable stadiums in the world. Weird to think that in 2009, we'll be the 3rd oldest stadium in the league behind Fenway and Wrigley. Metrodome - I went to the stadium when I was really little. All I remember was that it was really loud in there from the speakers. Has anyone seen the concept art for the Rays new stadium? It looks to be an awesome stadium if it gets built.
  16. No. Do you think the world will end in 2012?
  17. This is my looping Schwarzkopf, Nightmare. Download at the bottom. Showing some of the new support work in the 2nd helix. Heading into a helix in bright sunlight. A train about to go through the second loop. The train going through a support. An overview of the ride that shows the dense amount of trees through the course. A station fly-by. A steeply banked turn. A train getting ready to enter the third loop. A train about to enter through the first loop. A train navigating the first drop. What was... ...and what is. As always, comments and criticism are appreciated. Nightmare.nltrack
  18. I went to Knott's earlier today, rode Pony Express, and had fun. So about Pony Express, it was just "meh", didn't do a whole lot of stuff, the restraints were uncomfortable, and the only real exciting part of the ride was the tunnel. However, the area was well done and the tunnel looks relatively nice in person. In other news, work was being done on Ghostrider, there were a lot of kids there for day trips, and the Sky Cabin was closed. The completed tunnel. The completed tunnel with the entrance sign to the ride. A train at the end of its run. The entrance sign with track in the background. Train exiting the tunnel. Bigfoot Rapids was closed. The Boardwalk. Supreme Scream with a little bit of the log ride. Ghost Town. Silver Bullet. Work being done on Ghostrider.
