Are there restrictions on upgrading your WCB SFMM admission to a season pass based on your residence? The reason I ask is because it would be more cost effective for me to pay the non passholder ticket price, then upgrade that ticket to a season pass. That's as long as I won't have any trouble using a SFMM season pass at Discovery Kingdom, which is considerably closer to home. I'm still trying to get a solid head count for our group and will register soon. Those that just can't decide here in the next few days will unfortunately have to be left out.

Andy Shine's Quiz Time
Mechanic replied to Simon Baynham's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
13/20 with quite a few guesses. -
Minnesota had the ball for nearly 37 minutes, compared to the Saints having it for just under 28 minutes, overtime included. If having it for almost 14 more minutes in regulation wasn't enough, what's to make us believe that having it again in overtime would have changed the result? Chances are just as good, if not better, that they'd have just turned the ball over yet again. Favre's interception near the end of regulation wasn't all that did them in, but it was the exclamation point on an overall choke job of a game by Minnesota. They gave it away over and over. The fact that they were still in position to win toward the end is actually pretty amazing in itself. Minnesota has had plenty of great teams that just never got it done when it mattered most. This year's edition just adds to that legacy of futility. Sad, but true.

*** THE BEBES *** Rainbow Magicland ITALY TR
Mechanic replied to The Bebes's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It looks like less is more when it comes to the duckies. The report on Gilroy Gardens was great. I can never see too many pictures of that beautiful little park. If I may offer one minor correction, Quicksilver Express is actually a Morgan coaster. Looking forward to more Bebes reports. -

A fun TR as usual Bebes! And I think I see 3 duckies. -
^ They aren't going anywhere but HOME! How freaking monstrous does the Dallas defense look over these past few weeks? The offense ain't half bad either. Roy Williams even got involved and was a factor in this playoff game against Philly. Go Cowboys!

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
Mechanic replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's just that bad. The first turnaround has you wondering if the train will actually complete the course. Other than a mild thrill on the first drop, the ride does little more than make you wait for something fun to happen, but it never does. Then it's over and you're left wondering why you bothered to ride it. -
The dates are marked and I will anxiously await further details. Even when you think the last TPR event you attended couldn't be topped, you guys find a way to do it! The only problem that I'm starting to have is that any trip to a park that isn't a TPR event just isn't anywhere near the same experience.

1. What are your initial thoughts? It sounds like a great idea that would be a substantial benefit to many members. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? You seem to have it thought out pretty well. If I think of anything, I'll let you know. 3. Is this something that interests you? Not at the present time, but it could be something I would consider in the future. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? Primarily because I'm not currently in a position to take advantage of some of the more lucrative benefits. TPR, as it is now, does an AWESOME job of taking care of my current needs and wants from a coaster/park enthusiast site. My not being interested is in no way a reflection on the great appreciation I have for those that make so many great things available to us through TPR and their partners. 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. I think this is good move on your part and will satisfy a need that is likely to grow, as the site and its offerings grow as well.

Even though I've only ridden a handful of wooden coasters, I still voted. -

Any of the Disney Big Thunder coasters make for some great pictures, whether there's a train in the shot or not. -

9/20, and at least a few of the correct answers were guesses. I guess I've still got a ways to go before I achieve nerd-dom. -
Halloweentime at Disneyland

Ghost Galaxy was a big hit for me. I really liked this holiday overlay for the ride. I hope they incorporate some form of the exterior projections on a full time basis. -
We went Thursday night and had an AWESOME time. It was crowded enough that I don't feel we missed out on any of the ambiance, yet not so crowded that we had any trouble getting everything done. The Terror Tram and the Saw maze were the highlights for us. The Saw maze was really like being right in the movies. It's still creeping me out just thinking about it. Thanks for the advice on which event to attend. We'll be back next year for sure.

I'll defer to whoever would like to post the next picture. I'll be off on vacation tomorrow and won't be around much to check to see if anyone answers correctly.

A "ball latch" is what it's called in the attached diagram. I'm not sure what else you'd like me to call it.

Ball latch.

It's the number 9, designed to fill the void between the numbers 8 and 10.
