TPR's Mexico Tour Mini Updates
Mechanic replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To truly follow through with the theme you really should exit out her butt. -
I've ridden GL once, and that was more than enough. There was nothing fun or thrilling about it. It was just awkward and painful. Thankfully, it's a short ride. I might be inclined to give it another ride if I hear they go to operating it like it was meant to be operated, but otherwise, no thank you.

Wiener looping opened in Vienna Austria. Germans, and Austrians, do not call the city of Vienna by the same name we do. They call it Wein. Does that help it make more sense to you? Probably just a typo, but wein is wine in German Yes, Wien, not Wein. It was a typo.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I'm glad they got a deal done with Romo. He is not the team's problem. If not for Romo, the team would likely be completely in the toilet. Hopefully they'll address their offensive line issues in the draft, DeMarco Murray and the defense will be able to stay healthy, and the move of DeMarcus Ware to DE will result in him being a greater distruption to opposing QBs than he already is. I would really like to see Romo win a ring, or 2, before he's done. Despite all his detractors, all he's ever done is keep his nose to the grindstone trying to get better and doing what the team has asked of him despite having very little in the way of protection these past several years. Although a lot of people like to bag on the Cowboys in general, and Romo in particular, they still know that they're always a team that's in contention and can beat any team at any given time, often in spectacular come-from-behind fashion. Love them, or hate them, people love to watch them. Check the highest rated games and most attended games and you'll find the Cowboys listed right at, or near the top. I don't see that changing any time soon.

This thread was more fun when we were talking about a washing machine. -
What will be the FIRST coaster you ride in 2013?

I guess it ended up being Giant Dipper at SCBB. -
Because I was a mechanic for 28 years before becoming an automotive instructor about 3 years ago.

I came across this video on youtube that has the history of the park as told by the founder, Roger Tofte, and his family members. It's a pretty interesting watch. I visited this park some time in the mid 90s. It was a really neat experience and I'd like to go back someday.

I really like the dark green color the flume has been painted, or coated, or epoxied, or whatever the process was. The brightly colored flume had always seemed slightly out of place to me on the ride before. Relatively minor details like this being addressed and improved is a great sign for the park. I hope the rumors of a new dark ride do pan out. I've always enjoyed Knott's dark rides and I'm sure they will do a great job with whatever they decide to add.
