  1. Yeah I have heard that before, I have heard it was good in the beginning and very rough occasionally but oh well, I guess I will never find out now.
  2. I have heard great things about both, and never heard MGM's being crappy.. but that sounds hysterical! I would love to see a picture of this.
  3. whatever park gets it, looks like its going to be a great innovative ride. I hope that they pull this off well, too bad I cant get to china anytime soon.
  4. yes please do, because this was from while back and I usually suck at grammar. Sorry Rob, but I will definitely be more careful on the next one, I promise, so sorry you have to go correct my careless mistakes. And I will go and delete the part were I said, please excuse the bad grammar, and trust me I was not purposely trying to get around the rules, but whatever I will delete it.
  5. this is an old trip report I did of scarowinds, but I hope you still enjoy it. This my trip report of Scarowinds 2007. Well folks this was my first Scarowinds and I have mixed reviews. It was good but needs to be improved. First of all, this report is all about atmosphere and the VIP experience. A lack of houses will be in this report, I only got to go into one house. I will do a second one for this weekend, since I am going to go into all the houses. First off, I am not a big Halloween guy, but this year was different. I was really freaked out to go to Scarowinds. the only big special event I went to was Winterfest, which I loved. So I decided to take a chance, since I could not go to Halloween Horror Nights, I decided to go to Scarowinds. So I decided to buy the VIP package, this costs 55 dollars. I thought this was a little pricey but, it comes with a buffet, early entry into two of the houses (they say tour which I was extremely disappointed when it was just entry.) and the Scarowinds regular experience. So we needed to arrive at 5:30 P.M for our buffet and "tour". This was Saturday night. My 2 friends and I walk up and we see about 5 signs directing us to the VIP entrance. We see a big banner over one of the metal detectors for VIP. We got check gave them or ticket, and we a got a VIP necklace to wear, extremely cool this was my souvenir basically. So we walked to the picnic tables behind season pass processing, and a scareactor came up to us and said " Oh three more for dinner.". My friends thought it was stupid but I loved it. There were two scareactors that brought us up to the picnic tables. Which was very well done. Food was great, they even had a coffin with beer in it also with face painting too. The two scareactors gave photo ops and it was great to play around with them. The vampire lady got behind my two friend for a photo op and I said jokingly, 1,2,3 kill!. She was laughing when I said that. there was one guy, not sure what he was supposed to be but I came up while I was taking pictures and said, " Having a bloody good time?" he said, " oh yeah a pretty bloody good time!" The y gave us maps at our table for the event. The part that made me laugh though was, they played Midnight Syndicate music while we were eating and I said, " Oh MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE!" and my friends had no clue what I was talking about. But the part that made me mad, they played the haunted mansion theme song... But aside from that we got in a big line to leave picnic area to follow the scareactors to the "tour" of the houses. On the way managers were at the front of the park, I saw Scott ( I have never met him before) but did not got a chance to say hi to him. But I did point him out to my friends. I looked down at the bridge and realized something and told my friends, “ HEY THIS WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE FOR A HYPER!” Well I was disappointed when I found out we weren’t getting a tour of the house it was just early admission, the advertising deceived me. It was great but I wanted a tour, but oh well. We walked up to the first house the Slaughter House. No let me give you a tip, bring people who like haunted houses cause if you do bring a easily scared person, then you wont go into any. We walked up and the outside looked great! but they played the saw theme song, "Hello Zepp" and I saw the saw pig mask on someone face walking through the maze. My friend didn’t want to go in, so I didn’t get to go in. The manager said she would take him through the next house with a girl so the scareactors wouldn’t scare them. So we went through the Dream Factory next. The Dream Factory: My first ever haunted house, I liked it ok. I gave me alot of good scares. The great thing is that this house is really close to one of the Hurlers Turns, why is this great you ask, well I will explain later. But the theme was kind of ok, but it was still good. The best scare was in the mad scientist room. There was girl who looked like a dummy laying on a table she popped right up at me and scared the crap out of me. Halfway through the house you go outside and you were like that’s it, but you are so wrong. There was a grass guy out here who was another great scare. the you went back into my favorite thing, a tilting tunnel, feel in love with the one at hard rock and I loved the one here. It was ok not a bad house. 3.5 out of 5. So after than two walked around the park, another big complaint I had was lack of scareactors and scare zones. The atmosphere is fantastic and I loved it. But the scare zones were too small and I barely saw any scareactor and I mean barely. Like only 7 the whole night. I thought they bumped them up this year what happened? Well the atmosphere was amazing and awesome. Also a great break in the park was Scooby Doo. My friends and I loved doing this and it was a great break. We did it 3 times. It was awesome. A great place was the country fair and its circus them, my favorite themed area was great. The vampire section scared me to death really good stuff. Now I am not a big fan of the Hurler, but it has grown on me the past couple of years. My friend and I decided to ride, THE BEST RIDE I HAVE EVER HAD ON THIS RIDE! The lighting was great, there was barley any so you could not see the track. And remember was telling you about the Dream Factory being so close? Well there was so much fog it hit our car at one moment and we could smell it really good and it blinded us for a second. Incredible I loved it. I also went on Runaway Reptar, still not my favorite but it was ok. Btu of scareactors I did see it was amazing. So lets look at the run down. Atmosphere: great no need for improvement. 5 out of 5. Food: could be improved but not too bad 3 out of 5. Scareactors: I loved them but you need more 4 out of 5. Scarezones: ok, you just need bigger ones. 3 out of 5. VIP Experience: great deal I just want a tour in the day 4.5 out of 5. I am going again to do all the houses I will have a review on that also. well it was interesting and cool. I will go again to get the full house experience. Hope this report didnt suck too bad or it was too late to post it. I never got to go again, which I regret. But here are some pics: Scarowinds changes everyone....even...Dora.... wait....are we in California? 6. great pics and trip report! I have never been on a tower of terror, I went through Preshow when I was 8 but was scared out of my mind and I refused to go on the ride. When I was 13 I still wouldn't go on it lol. Now I am willing, just have to get to Florida or California, no way I am ever getting to Paris or Tokyo.
  7. thank you god! I am so happy that they are doing this. But as for the future of carowinds, this is how I would like it to go. 2009 flat ride 2010 hyper or a GCI woodie.
  8. thank god for Hard Rock Park, now I have another park besides Carowinds. But I love the speaker system, and the look of this coaster, I just cant wait.
  9. that is one of the most shocking stories I have ever heard. The worst ones for me were Runaway Reptar at Carowinds on a hot day, Vekoma pain at 100 degrees is not good. Another was Python at a pier in Ocean City, New Jersey (I cant remember what it was called.). It was a really small ride, were they didn't check your restraints. IT HAD A LOOP! This ride was rough and it freaked me out.
  10. carowinds is my home park, and I have a soft spot for it but its not my favorite. Epcot is mostly my favorite park. But my favorite amusement type park is Carowinds, because I have not been to a whole lot. But my favorite overall is Epcot.
  11. Hi I am Patrick the Patchman, I live 5 mins from Carowinds and I am a Disney, magiquest, and theme park geek.
