Kinky (or even Kinley) in England! Oh, yeah! I've lived here in good old England for erm, one or two years... OK damn it my whole life and I've NEVER heard or seen or tasted this "Kinley" stuff !! So whats the point in associating it with England ?

Saw:The Ride - Preview Day Friday 13th
coastercub replied to coastercub's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes I would say the ride does work if you haven't seen the film... You may however miss the point of some of the theming but I think it would still stand on it's own and just a scary ride based around being tortured !! Just something else i forgot to mention... as you leave the ride there is a staircase that takes you out of the building. The stairs are covered in blood, there are more CCTV cameras and the voice of Jigsaw saying "You think it's over but the games have just began" and hanging from the ceiling is jigsaw's head in the scales as per the poster/dvd cover of Saw IV ! -
OK So it was Preview Day event for Saw:The Ride.... Got to the park nice and early to find lots of various club members around so said hello and got my tickets... Most of the park was closed off today but it didn't matter as I was there for Saw.... So Saw:The Ride.... from the outside the ride looks great but it's inside where it shines... As you go in there is a long corridor which has some noise effects and a voice over from Saw himself (he also does some of the safety announcements too which is kinda funny). At the end of the corridor there is a cage.... in the cage is a masked person who is torturing another person... yes, live actors.... Torture device used is the one where the dude gets strapped in and has his limbs rotated till they snap and it is infact the actual device from the film !! After this you climb several flights of stairs... and past several body's caught in traps.. you get to the platform... ******Spoiler alert****** So once strapped in, the ride moves forward and turns to the right and stops (trains despatched in two's, first train misses part of the themeing though) if your in the second train it'll stop and to the right Billy will cycle towards you on his little red tricycle and start talking to you (Hard to tell what he's saying with all the other noise on the ride) after he's finished telling you about his game you continue forward and turn to the right again... infront of you is two giant axe's swinging right infront of you and underneath them is a sort of spike covered bored.... you lunge forward and drop under the axe's and spike board..... turn to the left and through a barage of crossbows which all fire at you (compressed air) at which point you brake and are then propelled up an incline and pushed down the next drop....(not a steep one) it drops down to the left and into the heartline roll... as your upside down in the heartline roll there is a dead body on the floor which them sprays it's blood at you... and out of the building you go... As you enter the brakes before the lift Billy appears on the two monitors and annouces that the Game is OVER and flickers off the screen !! So up the lift you go.... usual Eurofighter style... 100ft Up and 100 degree's straight down... into an immleman with a funny little twist at the bottom... then into an over banked turn to the left.... it then drops down and goes over a pretty damn good airtime hill which twist's slightly to the right just over the top and round to the left into the mid course brakes (which didn't seem to actually be switched on today) and down another pretty damn good drop with tons of ejector seat airtime and into a tiny dive loop with a bit of a pop... then back up into what can only be described as an overbanked turn into the brakes... If you like Mystery Mine and it's themeing then you'll LOVE this... It's a great ride and the themeing is superb. It's had some teething problems the last few days but today it was ALL running fine !! You think it's over but the games have just began...... And that was Saw:The Ride.... arty distant shot. Ok ok it was cloudy and dark !! And here it is.... TPR signiture shot... Loop through a loop !! Loopy baby !!! Under the blades they go... yes they do rotate Cresting the top !! Long way down !! The track round the back.... This is how we deal with queue jumpers in the UK. It's tough I know but ya gotta deal with it somehow !! Yep they are live actors getting tortured although she looked more asleep than anything ! This is the entrance to the ride itself... I think they did a nice job Saw:The Ride

Cheers Robb for posting this full POV of Mystery Mine. I was fortunate to ride it last year when it opened but as you know the general public isn't aloud to film these sorts of things so I'm very thankful that you put this up for people to enjoy on the net !! Certainly will be buying some of the DVD's !!! -

The future of Animatronics?

That thing is just a little creepy. The computing power to handle the balance in real time is quite earth shattering !! So this is whats on you-tube for all the world to see but what else is there in existance thats even more advanced that we're NOT supposed to see !! It makes Asimo look like my little pony !! -

Awww my ickle Flashback is gone !! Being from the UK I have been Lucky enough to have ridden this a few times (and yes I did say LUCKY) I thought it was a great little coaster so I'm sad that it's been allowed to rust and finally be ripped to bits ! It's a little piece of coaster history so we should all have a 2 second silence for it !! starting...... NOW... Gone but not forgotten !!

coastercub replied to carolinacaniac's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice TR guys !! I'm glad it isn't just me who noticed many MANY go kart tracks in pigeon forge !! I love this park. Did my first visit there this year in October. I managed so many rides on MM and TH that I lost count at 30... Sounds like a mass exageration but it really wasn't ! No lines at all and super friendly staff ! the park is simply stunning, I can't wait to go back although no idea when as it's I the middle of nowhere !! -
Most thrilling drop?
coastercub replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Giant Drop is much the same as any of the other intamin towers BUT you have to wait 6 seconds to get your stomach back so I agree it's one of the best !!! Another one that did it for me was Gravity Max (Vekoma Tilt coaster) Back seat completely on my own ! Was odd and scary being on my own on the whole ride but the free fall face first is wicked and beats any of the dive machines (of which I've done them all) !!! -

Loved the trip report, made me chuckle to myself !! Nice pics especially of the steel beast. always wondered where that was. Now I'll need another trip back to Canada, any excuse really !! -
Ok Ok so I'm late to the party as usual !! I really admire your determination to do this whole project as it's gonna take alot of time and effort to get it to work !! I work in a design office and I use Acad/Inverntor & Pro Engineer all of which are huge bits of software to learn. I'm very surprised your parents wouldn't let you buy No Limits but I can only think that they see it as a game more than a useful tool for your project. No Limits would give you the advatage of easily being able to test out your layout for the effects of gravity/G force and just see if it would actually work. Would help you place supports and give you as realistic as can be idea how it will work. However Acad etc will give you much better engineering diagrams and "blue" prints and I'm sure that'll certainly account for a majority of your grade at the end. The only advice I can give is to not get caught up in the fluffy bits ie handrails, color, station design etc just concentrate on the layout, structure and the physics of it and then you can tart it up once thats done. All the best though and keep us all posted.
