  1. Part two. Thanks for reading! Random pic of me in front of the park. (I just realized how badly my hair got messed up) One last look at EK. Looks like EK will have lockers. This came from the fiargrounds/old LTT (where EK currently stands) and is just past EK by the Log Flume. They were working on the ride while I was there. More EK... They're still working on the lift hill. Time for some EK construction photos.
  2. Ok so today was SFSTL's opening day. All of my friends who have passes couldn't make it so I ended up going to the park with just my mom (who doesn't ride any of the big rides). Even though I just rode the rides by myself, I had a good time. I didn't get to ride many rides because we could only stay about three hours and an hour of that was getting our passes processed but here is my rides for the day (in order) Eagle-1 Batman-2 Freeze-1 Boss-1 The employees that I encountered were very friendly and nice. They actually had a person in Batman's que making sure that no one was line jumping and did have employees letting guests know about the locker policy at the entrance to the rides that have them. Also, the retracking on Eagle during the off season really did the trick. The last section of the ride is much more enjoyable now. On to the photos (please don't post until I get part two up) For those of you who were wondering what the new lockers look like. Apparently these people didn't know that it's only 55 degrres out. While the ride isn't as bone cruching, it still threw me around a lot and wasn't enjoyable. So after seeing how much retracking improved Eagle I wanted to see what it could do to the Boss. Just as awesome as ever. Luckily it opened up five minutes later. Right as I'm about to get in line they put this sign up. I decided to skip the vortex of pain and sufferi...I mean Ninja. New for 2008. One last look at Batman. Coming out of the corksrew. Batman over the trees. Mom was was messing around with my camera while I was on the ride and got this cool pic. I rode the Eagle first but I didn't have my camera with me at the time. I rode Batman second. Tony Hawk. So we decided to get our season pass processed first. It ended up being an hour wait. Colossus towering over the park. Random flowers in the enterance plaza. Weeeeeeeeeee! Batman about to come off the lift. Fountain at the entrance to the park. Another view of EK as your heading towards the entrance but enough of EK for right now, lets go see the rest of the park. You can get a really good view of the lift hill as your leaving the parking booth. Its Evel Knievel! I think we'll take them up on their offer. Wait, whats that over there? Welcome to opening day!
  3. When did this happen? I've never heard of it flooding in the park. Although it is kind of ironic that right now it is flooding everywhere in Eureka except Six Flags.
  4. I have been watching this park from the beginning but just haven't commented but I really like your park. It is very realistic and it is the kind of small, family owned park that I would love to see more of pop up around the country. Keep up the good work!
  5. ARTICLE In my opinion, they should just focus on their US parks but I'm not Mark Shapiro and I don't call the shots. Hopefully it will end up being successful.
  6. Did you even read the article in the first place? Very first line: "Six Flags Magic Mountain officials said a family coaster with no inversions and a 48-inch height requirement is 'on track' for spring 2009." I completely forgot about that....my bad. Quote from Screamscape.
  7. Speaking of Gerstlauer, I remember seeing something from the IAAPA coverage on Screamscape. Maybe this could be what is in store for MM. Yeah, except for that it has inversions. I seriusly think that this will be a GCI. Don't Intamin woodies has a height restriction on 52"? Spongebob has inversions and it is still being considered a family coaster.

  9. That drop looks awesome! Cool park...keep up the good work.
  10. Definitely a great concept. I can't wait to see how it ends up turning out.
  11. I agree. For example, whenever Evel Knievel (spelling?) was announced, a lot of people on the sfstl.net forums were mad because it was a clone....even though it was thousands of miles away! In my opinion, as long as the park has at least one good custom coaster, it is fine if they install a clone. From a business standpoint it is a smart move. Why would you pay for a custom design when you have a really good clone that you could install?
  12. I heard that if everything goes smoothly, like it has been, the ride should open up around Memorial Day weekend. The July 4th opening is basically the worst case scenario. Here are some new construction photos from GCI Intern website.
  13. Awesome interview! It was really good to hear all of the positive things he had to say about Magic Mountain and Six Flags in general but I think that him saying that there is a five year plan in place is the best news. Although at first I was skeptical of him, I now think that Shapiro is really going to turn Six flags around for the better.
  14. Just thought of another one. Why was Evel Knievel such a last minute discission?
  15. I would like to ask him, Does Six Flags have a gameplan for 09 already? (for 07 is was family friendly while 08 was more about thrills) And if so ,what is it? What is your opinion on the lockers that are currently in use/going up that some parks have at some their main attractions and why doesn't every Six Flags parks use the effective method that Six Flags St. Louis uses and just have large FREE storage bins/containers in the major ride's stations where guests can put their belongings as they board and take them as they leave? What is your personal outlook on the 2008 season? Is the company considering selling off more parks withing the next six months?
  16. Last I heard, if all goes well the ride should open around Memorial Day. Yeah the ride is gonna be a little short (track length is about as long as Batman's) but it is still going be an awesome ride.....just look at all of those bunny hops .
  17. New construction photos from sfstl.net. Not only are there pics of EK construction but also some pics of Mega Zeph's trains on site.
  18. I can hear the severe weather sirens going off in the distance.
  19. There is a picture of the concept art for the trains over on the sfstl.net forums. Concept Art *EDIT* I apologize...I just realized you need to have an account to see the pic...I'll come post it over here. EK trains
  20. Rebirthing - Skillet
