  1. Nice shots, especially from americana.Grizz should be up & running on may 23rd so I plan to hit the park twice in may....first on saturday & again on the 30th to get my grizzly laps in for the season. I really am having my doubts about anything going on in the anaconda clearing for 2010 & am starting to lose confidence in getting a hyper next year since carowinds is already fencing off a section of their parking lot & from what I read on another site they're simply putting down mulch in that area for the time being.
  2. Chasis support. Yeah but the floorless & many inverts(alpie being the exception) don't have a zero car. This design is gonna be a capacity nightmare,as anyone knows the standard flying dutchman models have horrendous capacity & load times & that's with THREE times as many cars per train as the stingray has.
  3. Great pics man, keep them coming. Good thing you didn't take pics in the FOF queue,I did th at in the station on opening day & got reprimanded by the ops who came on the PA saying "no flash photography permitted in station" good thing I didn't get booted from the ride for that.Another thing I noticed was the clearing behind Anaconda looks to have the makings of a service road on it....I'll have to review my pics from last year to see if that was already there or not but then again when building a new coaster the service roads are among the last things to be built as they need to tear up the site to place footers first.
  4. I do.They seriously need to repaint it back to the old black & yellow colors.
  5. Enough with the stupid youtube videos already it's getting really old really fast. I vote for locking this thread because as it stands right now we don't really know where either of these two coasters are going, sure two CF parks appear to have coasters planned for next season but that doesn't gaurantee that they'll be from B&M since they're not the only steel coaster firm available after all.
  6. I second that!!!! One of these is for carowinds, the other for KD it's that simple folks.
  7. The plant in Ohio only produces track for the US & Canadian markets, aside from the few orders recently done for China the other B&M's are produced in Europe. I'm sticking with my bets that the yellow is for Carowinds & the red is for KD.
  8. Red yellow I don't care just so long as KD gets that hyper.
  9. I wouldn't say that as KI had a huge turnout due to DB & just wasn't ready to handle the crowds especially on opening day, which happens at most parks as the staff are just getting into their job routines. Seems like KD's opening day was rather nice in comparison even though there was quite a bit of downtime on some rides for most of the day,but then again they didn't exactly have a marquee attraction to debut this year unlike last season.
  10. ^That is a possibility but if you look at the clearing just south of FOF that seems to be the focus of construction activity for the time being....I didn't know that waterworks over on the south end of rebel yell had that much empty land, but then again according to the photo it appears to have been an image taken just prior to 2007/2008 as HS:XLC is still there & the 09 additions clearly are not.
  11. Anyone take a look at the KD links that were posted? this seems kinda legit to me given the fact that there IS already some sort of activity going on back there behind anaconda & FOF. I call the red track for KD & the yellow for Carowinds.
  12. Dominator is orange, save for the loop & CF will install whatever colored coasters they choose in their parks anyhow. CGA will not be getting a B&M,they're still trying to get the woodie that was cancelled this year.
  13. Because 1. The track is not invert track. 2. VF JUST recieved a major coaster not too long ago, which eliminates the chances of it getting a coaster. Last time I checked, the land clearing occurred a while back so if it were for a big attraction, it would be REALLY big. Now keep in mind, SF seems to be developing a pattern with building new coasters for the flagship parks. Two major coasters in a row for the flagship parks. Smaller parks receive various upgrades which may inlude new coasters, flat rides, and older ride upgrades. GAdv recieved the tallest, fastest coaster in the world, an Intamin woodie, a DK on top of a Medusa upgrade. (and you're calling MM spoiled?) MM is getting a major coaster (maybe a B&M prototype) next year. GAm will get something big sooner. Look over on kdfansite's forums for the photo, sure it's not much now with one piece of construction equipment currently on site but why else would they be doing something back there this early in the year? SFI's plans of installing large, expensive coasters took place back in the days before Shapiro came along, ever notice how in recent years they've been scaling back their coaster installations both in size & in volume since 06?
  14. Now here's the list of CF parks that recently received new major coasters... KI - Diamondback KD - Dominator CW - Behemoth VF - Renegade WOF - Prowler MIA - Thunderhawk That leaves Carowinds, which has long since been rumored to get a hyper, CGA, which is rumored to get a GCI, KBF, and CP. Now KD has been getting new additions every year since, I believe 2001, and CF could consider keeping this trend. If this WERE for KD, it would either be a prototype or a sit-down. Now lets see SF's pattern with building coasters... MM - getting a coaster next year (possibly a major coaster) on top of X upgrade GAdv - got two major coasters in 2005-2006 + DK and Medusa upgrade GAm - could receive two major coasters in the near future NE - Superman upgrade SFOG - Goliath in 2006 + Monster Plantation upgrade this year SFSTl - Evel Knievel last year various additions this year SFOT - Only original SF park to not receive anything major recently + TG upgrade KK - ?? America - Nothing (Thomas Town next year) FT - Goliath last year DK - ?? GE - ?? The question marks stand for unannounced new additions Right now there are a number of CF/SF parks that might be getting a new, yellow B&M next year. Since Carowinds has long been rumored to get a hyper and almost all the former Paramount Parks received new B&M's within the past few years, Carowinds seems to be the most likely candidate for a new B&M Hyper. CGA is probably getting a GCI if it isn't sold. That leaves KBF and CP, which is already clearing land. [/long-winded post ] KD has been doing some sort of recent site work in the field behind anaconda near FOF on the site of the former safari monorail so that means that something's up over there....of course it's early in the season so we don't know for sure yet but why else would they have construction equipment on site already? While SFMM is getting another coaster next year(spoiled brats) it's probably NOT a B&M as they have everything B&M makes aside from a dive machine & a sit down would be pointless there seeing as how Scream wasn't exactly a smashing success when it was added 6 seasons ago & SFI simply doesn't have the capital to afford any B&M's right now so it makes more sense to add yet another THBS clone there than a much larger, expensive ride.
  15. While it's confirmed that Carowinds is getting a coaster it hasn't been confirmed that it'll be from B&M.
  16. Let's keep in mind that we now have two rides being built by B&M awaiting delivery to their final destinations, one yellow, the other red so there's a strong possibility that both KD & Carowinds(well Carowinds is confirmed to get a new coaster in 2010) could be looking at new coasters for the following season. Let's also remember that the CF parks that got coasters in 09 can be ruled out for next year, those would be WOF & KI & other than CP I don't see KBF,CGA or VF getting coasters in 2010 & SF certainly can't afford any B&M's right now so that leaves KD,Carowinds & even CP as possible candidates for one of these two rides.
  17. Well there is land clearing & some construction equipment on site at KD behind anaconda so perhaps the red mystery track is for KD while the yellow may be for Carowinds?
  18. I think because in other areas of the country, new rides don't get lines like that. For example I rode The Dark Knight on the 5th day it was open at Great Adventure, I waited 25 minutes. I rode Voodoo a few weeks after it opened, I had a 5 minute wait. Even Fahrenheit that I rode in August was an hour, which was a long wait by me. So when I hear people talking about only 2 or 3 hours for Diamondback or how it was a 6 hour wait, it just seems amazing to see that type of line and people are actually willing to wait that long. True & is remeniscent of the lines that some of KD's coaster have had in their debut season...heck volcano still gets a line clear out to the midway sometimes & that's about 11 years after it's debut but don't get me started on HS:XLC's poorly managed queue with lines sometimes stretching back to round about Rebel Yell's entrance,if not to where Americana is now.
  19. Isn't DB more towards the back end of the park comparable to let's say where Grizzly is at KD & yet the line to ride stretched clear back to the eiffel tower? That HAD to have been one long as heck wait in line just to reach the queue(only to have to wait again some more) & what with the capacity that most B&M's have I'm suprised that the line stretched that far back.
  20. The restrictions are in place due to the twister style layout of the ride,SFA's has the same max restriction th anks to the helixes which you come really close to hitting the supports of if your hands are up.MF doesn't have such a tight layout therefore the max height restriction doesn't exist. Funny thing that T-Bolt didn't recieve fin brakes on the new trains, when SFA put new trains on wild one in 99 they replaced the skid brakes with fin brakes as they were having the same problem of only being able to use one train when the ride also had a 2nd train that was hardly ever in use.
  21. While that something may be a coaster it's sure NOT gonna be a hyper judging by the limited size of that overall footprint.
  22. Yes! I, for one, love the Shockwave! If anyrides at KD are to be removed it should be Anaconda or Hurler! Now THOSE are back-breaking rides. Anyway, nice TR! I can't wait to go soon and ride El Dorado and Americana! I actually found hurler to be gasp!! smooth & enjoyable back on opening day, unfortunately I don't expect that to last to long before the ride returns to it's usual painful self.
  23. Do you have adobe acrobat reader on your computer? You'll need that program in order to view PDF's but I'm sure that if you look on KDfansite you can probably find a thread showing the 09 map somewhere in their forums.
  24. I would imagine the station being placed in HS:XLC's launch spot with the lift/drop going north through old virginia....then again they could place it behind hurler at an angle so that the layout will clear the water park area or use a slight curve on the drop much like KI did in the design for Diamondback.
  25. LOL...Cheatriots? man that's a good one.
