  1. I was just at KD on sunday & their haunt event blows the crap out of SF's any day of the week so I don't know which CF park you're trying to compare it to but you're way off in that assesment that just because it's free means it's no good.
  2. I don't know about that. During the weekdays in the summer the place has a tendency to be overrun by local day cares and families in the area. See, I think SFA finally realized that they were just getting tweens and not many families. A lot of my friends refuse to go to SFA with families because the general crowd that lingers there. I think this new Thomas Town is SFA's attempt to get back on the map with the families as well as compete with KD's "new" Planet Snoopy. But then again, KD is getting I305 as well so, yeah... Between 96 & 02 SFA was doing just fine at drawing in the crowds, both families & young adults,it's when the influx of new rides & money to maintain exisiting rides/infrastructure stopped coming in that things began to go downhill. Add in a management team that wanted to help out but was constrained by the will of the corporate bigwigs making all the decisions & that just made the park worse.Aside from the lack of new theme park rides the worst thing the park did was horribly mismanage their flashpass system which is another thing that really prevents me from wanting to go back even if they get chang(which they probably won't) in 2011. Who needs a flashpass at SFA? Unless you want to get everything done in a couple hours or less on a weekend in the summer/frightfest they're not at all needed... You are such a naegative Nancy... I was talking about the way management at the park chooses to run the system...case in point only allowing flashpass users on one train on superman,if there are no FP users available then they have to send it out empty.
  3. I guess I'll try redesigning the entire brakerun making it longer in the process,I'm currently using the default settings & running a four to five car intamin mega train.
  4. Not likely seeing as how they conveniently broke it before it even left the state of Texas.
  5. Anyone see Clint's latest update on youtube & facebook? He had some nice bonus footage of the defunct KK's old footers at the end of the shot.
  6. I'll try to get a screen in the editor & perhaps I should just save the brakerun as an element from either one of the pre built rides or a downloaded track for use on future projects?

  8. They did that a few days ago...I wish they'd get the webcam working though.
  9. I'm going again this weekend, man haunt was great on sunday but it sure stunk having avalanche down...they had someone working on a section of track in a cherrypicker so I hope it'll be up by this weekend.
  10. Even though Great America is the closest Six Flags to my home, I agree. There are a lot more parks in the chain that would need this ride more than Great America. However, I think it was smart to move Chang from Kentucky Kingdom. I know it sucks for the people there, but the fact is that when you have a water park that's booming and a dry park that's tanking, you should focus on your strengths. There's a point when the dry park's attendance is so low, any additions to it wouldn't be worth it. And why is the dry park tanking? It's because SFI hasn't put any new rides in it for years....it's just for this reason that I stopped going to SFA after the 2007 season when they finally announce a new ride for 2008 that turned out to be yet ANOTHER mundane waterslide. GL suffered this same fate & while folks blame CF for it's demise it was SFI who started the ball rolling in 2002 when, following the addition of x-flight no further cap ex improvements were made to the park because they went on a "let's give all the rides to SFMM,SFGRADV & SFGRAM & the rest get nothing" kick....a kick that continues unabated to this day.
  11. SFA won't get it simply because they're getting TT in 2010 & probably nothing until maybe 2013 at the earliest....aside from a closed for business sign maybe.
  12. You're only 14..give it a couple more years. Shockwave (KD) absolutely destroys not only my manhood but my knees as well. After my last ride, I thought I'd need a wheelchair to get me to the parking lot. I couldn't walk very well. I rode shockwave yesterday & had no problem with it,grizzly & rebel yell on the other hand gave me a splitting headache!!I was watching a couple guys strap in on berserker thinking "man it's not the lap bar that hurts it's that damn OTSR" because it doesn't come down far enough to really support the upper body correctly during the ride.
  13. Chang isn't headed to the Windy City. I hope your right but what's your source on this? Also in general is anyone really disappointed by SFGAM in last few years. No new major coasters even though other SF parks get them such as St.Louis Major coasters taken down instead of getting fixed Added another kiddie area despite already having two Now another year with nothing but a parade, and the only coaster rumored is a used stand up. It's at the point I might not get a season pass next year and that saddens me Now you'll find out how the folks in Maryland have felt for years seeing their park get passed up year after year for a new coaster let alone new ride so I say get used to it.
  14. They're not stopping the trains at all, even when set to block mode & complete stop. What's the best setting to use?
  15. Blue Flash's trackwork is completed,I just have to finish up the supports then it's ready for release but due to the brakes not working properly it can only operate one train.
  16. Went to the park yesterday & noticed that they've started putting up track for the helix/turn following the first drop,as well as the pullout of the drop itself.
  17. They';; find a way to make it fit...this is a park that they're desperate to spoil no matter how much other parks in the chain need the ride more.
  18. No,they were just desperate for a new ride for Laronde & that was all they could get.
  19. Yeah SFA was supposed to get a stand up before Batwing was added in it's place at the last minute...it was labeled as attraction #37 on the park's long ignored detailed site plans first filed with the county in the summer of 1999(before SFI found itself in debt & couldn't afford rides for half their parks) & had dimensions of 140 feet in height & 3,000 feet in length so it definitely wasn't a togo as those are only around 100ft. in height. Of course it's just wishful thinking that SFI would finally start paying attention to SFA when they've been treating it just as badly as SFKK for years now so I think that Chang won't be finding it's way to the east coast at all.
  20. Are we even sure that an 8 car intamin mega train will be able to even fit in a station that size? they're probably not finished putting all of the station framework up just yet though.
  21. Obviously being in Chicago you want chang to go to SFGRAM but we're not sure that it'll happen just yet & why send T2 to TGE when they had an SLC in storage that's being sent to Laronde & T2 is in far worse shape than the SLC TGE recently lost?
  22. SFOG already has Scorcher so that's ruled out.My guess is,aside from SFGRAM either SFGRADV or SFNE since ole' Sharpie's got family up there....oh & let's not forget about SFOT as well. SFA is just gonna end up being GL'd in a few years time & cannibalized for it's rides to keep the other parks going.
  23. Rumors say SFGRAM,which already has a standup coaster, but after TGE's SLC that came from SFAW showed up at Laronde it wouldn't suprise me if that turned out to be true...SFI just wants to continue spoiling their "favored" parks at the expense of the rest of the chain but since they can no longer afford the big rides they once could they now have to resort to stealing them from other parks in the chain.
  24. Well what can you expect when the ride side of the park is neglected year after year? That is partially what doomed GL in it's final year or two as an SF park after all. This is why I stopped going to SFA a couple years ago,SFI has neglected that place for years just like they have with KK & many of the former parks they've since sold & it'll take quite a bit of work to get me to go back there again as a result.
  25. Could be because you don't have a utility like MS paint or Nero to open the pics.I'm always able to find my screens no problem. MS Paint does not work either. What kind of format are the screenshots? Maybe, my computer is not reading it because of the format!?!? It's either a .BMP or .GIMP or something like that.
