  1. Hey nice TR! I'll be sure to look for you guys at SFA since I work there!
  2. Well I've been working at SFA (Games Dept.) since early September, and I have ALOT! 1. Guests that come up to my game, I ask them if they want to play, they say no, but they still sit at the game and use my shade, and/or mess around with the water guns, etc. 2. Guests that try to steal the prizes hanging up on the game 3. Guests that get mad when they see a Daffy Duck hanging up around the game and ask for one, but there aren't anymore sitting around that I could actually give them. (we are not allowed to give them ones of the flash (walls) 4. Guests that think they can do my job better than me, ex: trying to make me say something on the mic that they think will attract guests. 5. When guests ask me where a smoking section is, I tell them, yet I eventually see them smoking in a non-smoking area. I always smile and give great service when a guest does something above but in my head, its a whole different story!
  3. You guys got my vote! Hope u get the trip!
  4. NOTE: IF YOUR PLANNING ON WALKING THROUGH BRIDGE OF TERROR HAUNT AND WANT TO BE FULLY SURPRISED, DO NOT READ!!!!!!!!!! I was working on Saturday from 12-6 and after I clocked out, I rode Roar and walked through the Bridge of Terror. Well the park was extremely crowded that day and that was because a private group (Muslim Day) rented out the park in the morning, and it was the first day of the most popular event at the park, FRIGHT FEST! Well when I got off work, I met up with some of my friends and we walked around looking for the ride with the shortest line. We ended up at Roar and only waited about 10 minutes which is surprisingly long for SFA. Also from far away you can't even tell if the coaster is going, thats how dark it was! Well after that awesomely bumpy ride, we decided that we would go see if Superman's line was short. When we got there, the line was wrapped all the way behind the 60 min sign. We immeadiately said lets go to the haunted house and then go home. So as we passed the Joker's Jinx, I noticed the cruelest Fright Fest themeing ever. There was a bloody dummy hanging on the barrier fence around Joker's Jinx (I think it was next to a restricted sign aswell) and the dummy was missing a head! When I saw that I immeadiately thought of PMW! lol I couldn't help but laugh, but I felt so bad. I wish I took a picture, or any for that matter. I'm going back so maybe I will have a camera. Bridge of Terror is scarier than Frightorium was. It seems like the monsters come out of nowhere, but in Frightorium, they would try to hide in the dark and then pop out. I love Bridge of Terror's (Panic Room) they basically lock you in a small building with about 3 monsters and the room is filled with fog and flashing lights. Then you finally walk out into the actual bridge and thats where all the rest of the monsters greet you and the effects start to unveil. I noticed about 3 scare-effects on the bridge. And what haunted house is complete without chainsaws?!?! And the coolest thing about this haunt is that if your too scared to walk through the actual bridge, then you can watch other people walk through on that wider bridge on Mainstreet. I didnt checkout any shows but from what I heard, they should be great this year. Also this year, the park is filled with fog as night falls and looks really creepy, especially when the monsters chase you out of the fog. I cant wait to go back on Staurday, even if I have to work
  5. This year I think Batwing was the most reliable. Even though it took years for them to send one train, it was almost always open lol. Jokers Jinx also did a good job in reliability this year.
  6. Im going to The Bowie Baysox Statium Haunted House for my 3rd year in a row this year! They have been scaring the crap out of me since 06! This years haunted house is called Country Terror!!!! It sounds corny, but I highly doubt it will be. Its in Bowie, MD. I also might check out Goatman Hollow in Riverdale, MD. I heard about it on the Travel Channel last year and wished I could go last year. I also heard of the haunted houses at Arundel Mills Mall. I might check that out aswell. That is in Hanover, MD Finally, I'm working at SFA starting this Saturday until closing which means I will be working during Fright Fest so I will check out Bridge of Terror on my day off.
  7. I think theres a bar in the Crazy Horse Saloon in Coyote Creek that sells beer aswell
  8. You just proved why SFA isn't doing well. If employees and guests that go to the park often are the only one's that notice a difference then there isn't much changing. I don't think the park can depend on these people. The point I was actually trying to get across was that you would only noticed those changes if you've been to the park many times before they got these upgrades. Most all parks have security cameras and speakers so you wouldn't think that the speakers or cameras are new/replaced at SFA.
  9. Wrong. Last time I was at the park on a August Saturday, Superman's line was about 30 minutes, Jokers line was about 30-45 minutes, and surprisingly, Mind Eraser's line was 50 minutes, all lines coming out of stations. Wild One and Roar were walk-ons as usual. I sadly agree that SFA probably won't be around in the next 5-10 years but I know its safe for atleast 3 more years. SFA hasn't seen major changes in a while, but has improved some minor things like; new employee lounge, new trams/tram lane, new slide, new speakers, new security cameras, and upgrades to the Gotham Arena. Nobody realizes these changes unless your a SFA park employee (like me )
  10. I agree. If they did have some more mazes then alot more people would go, tell their friends, and keep coming back. Shows are nice, but who really wants to have a family-friendly halloween event? I want to be scared on halloween.
  11. There is a trick-or-treat trail for the kids, a hayride for the kids and a scare zone called Bridge of Terror which is the parks temporary scary attraction. The rest are shows. SFA goes overboard on shows if you havent noticed lol.
  12. Bridge of Terror is hopefully just a temporary solution to replace Frightorium since it burned down last month. It sounds dumb, but you really say much until Fright Fest. SFA always has a bunch of shows for Fright Fest and this year is no different. I really wish they brought back Midnight Express because everyone goes to Fright Fest so the lines for the coasters are going to be extremely long this year.

  14. Are you sure the park is going to open tomorrow? I saw a news broadcast that Tropical Storm Hana should hit New York by 2:00 tonight. Its been riping through the DC metro area all day today.
  15. I know that the park is advertising Fright Fest all over the park. They are still advertising the haunted house so I wonder if we are getting a new one or, they just said that to pull you in. Any crazy person expecting to go to the park today, I'm sorry but Tropical Storm Hana is riping through the area right now and SFA has made a smart decision by closing the park.
  16. The new subject for this thread is Fright Fest 08! Nobody cares about mines and Jcoasters (not astroworldfan) arguement. It was over yesterday but now its really over so start talking about Fright Fest/whatever else about SFA!!!
  17. hahahahahaha your not effin funny so please STFU I made this thread to talk about the positive things about SFA. You've probably never even been there so you don't know what the flip your even talking about. I'm trying to change the subject of 10 pages of bashing the park and try to bring up the positives and your not helping. Damn dude don't get all worked up. I only speak the truth, And I have been to the park, but left because it started to rain, and my parents wanted to leave. You know you've been an ass this whole time saying stupid stuff about the park, I was just the first person to say something about it. But your not worth me getting banned so this convo is over. Anyways, does anyone else wonder what SFA is going to do for Fright Fest since Frightorium (the only haunted house left) burned down?

  19. SFA could be top notch park if the park fixes the smaller things first. We need some more foliage/theming in Gotham City. After they fix up the scenary in Gotham, then maintain all of the rides so that they wouldn't break so often, then we can start talking about new rides. For next year, I'd expect to see something small like a new restaurant or game.
  20. ^Yeah but KD so far away and SFA is down the street. I normally go to KD atleast once a year and SFA atleast once a week. I just love SFA. I grew up with it so seeing it go would be heart-breaking. All of you guys want it to go but you don't know what would happen as a result. SFA has huge lines of teenagers getting jobs for the summer. If you remove the most popular teenage job, where would those teens work during the summer? Kings Dominion? HELL NO! Thats a far enough drive to visit, but to work there is crazy. Getting a job would be so much harder without SFA. Plus alot of the teens in the Prince Georges County area love SFA. At school, thats almost all people talk about. Sure we love KD alot better, but SFA is still fun and close.
  21. About 5 or 6 years ago, at Wet n Wild in Orlando, I was in line with my sister and dad for a big purple slide I think called Storm. (you went down a body slide into a giant funnel thing, then you spun around the sides of it until you fell through the hole in the center into a deep catching pool. By the time I could see that you fell into that catch pool, I turned around and left. So did my sister!
  22. ^^Same with me. I always wanted to go to SFGADV but since gas prices shot up like that, I was lucky to even be able to go to Carowinds while I was at a family reunion in Charlotte. I havent been to KD or BGE because it's too far and traffic on 95 is terrible. I could take 301 but then I would have to merge onto 95 into that terrible traffic.
  23. ^Damn, you really want SFA to close and distribute their rides all over the place. Thats all you've been posting lately.
  24. ^I doubt they would close it because the people who said that SFA is neglected because SFI doesn't want any competition for SFGADV made alot of since. Just think about it, two parks from the same company about 2-3 hours away from each other, there are about 4 other major parks in that area, plus the other smaller parks in that area, I would want most of them to go to the biggest/most popular out of the two (SFGADV) but keep the prices of everything at SFA high so that the other parks would lower their prices. That's SFI game plan.
  25. ^I live in Bowie, MD (about 20-30 min from DC). Gas is way to expensive to drive all the way to DC to entertain myself everyday. SFA is so close I can see Superman's first hill from my house. I normally walk to SFA when I go and ride my bike to the mall. (Bowie Town Center)
