Psyclone at SFMM, Giant at SFOT, and Rattler at SFFT. Take your pick. They all hurt!

I would suggest not driving to it. The bus is cheap and takes you right at the front gate. You can park near the bus stop then take it to the park. It is a confusing area to drive in. When I went they could not scan USA SF's passes and you have to go to guest relations and get a ticket. Might check that out and save time waiting in line to get told sorry go get a ticket. I really enjoyed that park. Have fun.

If I were placed in a position to make a judgment I would have to go with the family. People go to parks and are excited and pumped with adrenaline. They are looking at the sights, smelling the food, not reading signs. If the weight factor is that significant on this ride then the park should weight people in line or the boats should be weighed full before they are sent off. I just can't blame the family for missing a sign, fat or not.

Nice tunnel shot and thanks for the clarification. Obviously I have not been there! -

Good, then there is no temptation for someone to try and get them by jumping down from the queue! -

Vertical Did you have access to a non public location to shoot this picture, or is it in an area in plain view? -

Employees may not want too, but it seems daily pick ups would be standard policy. I just find that odd. -

How kool and odd both. The park does not retrieve lost goods to return to customers? That kinda sucks! -

AW leveled kills me as well! I pass by there almost daily. Was my first job in 1978. I used to go every 2 weeks. There are a few thoughts on the reason. Burke made the call, and sited attendance and parking as the reasons. Although it is true AW had a smaller attendance than many SF parks AW (if i remember right) also made 6-10 mil a year profit! Does attendance really matter if you are making that kind of profit? Parking was going to be a challenge because of the Reliant stadium build taking up much of the space the land had open. Their were several viable options though. There is tons of vacant land behind the park. I think bottom line Burke knew he was on the way out. The stock holders, led by Snyder, were determined to see him out. He proclaimed he would get 150 mil for the land. The company was strapped for $$ and I believe he saw this sudden 150 mil income as a possible saviour for his job. It did not matter as days after the AW closure announcement came he was pink slipped out. The park was already being demolished. In reality it ended up getting only 70 mil, and is sold, although the current owner barely even takes the time to get the grass cut. The city has to step in from time to time warning them. Truly a very sad story of a demolished park in trade of a field. -
Six Flags Fiesta Texas TR.

Good luck! If you plan to ride more than a couple of times, bring some pain reliever with you. The ride can tear you up on certain days. Hopefully one day they will get it rideable, but for me right now it is not something I enjoy. I don't think you will call it Gravity Group goodness tomorrow! -

Cute idea, but I would not pay for a temporary map and show guide. As others mentioned posted maps and asking work fine. For non English speaking folks though, it makes great sense. If I went to Spain to check out two parks I am dying to see, I would love one of these devices, else I would be pretty much be lost all day. -

I have not really read anyone complaining. As mentioned above which have the sensor and which don't? You will never know, unless Intamin does a mandatory retrofit which would not surprise me. It is obvious the cables are not changed out as often as they should be, so the sensor becomes a very important part. It's not a big deal, it's just a choice I make not to ride them again, same for Chaos. There are just some rides history tells me my safety may not be as well protected as on other rides. I think the parks think the same, and after this I would imagine their will be a few more on the market next year! (Edit) I did read that after SFKK cable sensors were installed on many drop towers. Perhaps they have already done a retrofit. -

That is true. Apparently 49 people believe in this as that many people have registered on the site. That's about 40 more people than I would have expected on the site. -

Living with Roller Coasters
Markieb replied to cca's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow cool find! I like the parts showing a guy smoking on the coaster, then someone jump in the train going up the lift hill! People working on the track while the coater is running! Riding a closed coaster by pushing the car up the lift! Hanging out on the track watching the train go by! Amazing the things people used to do and parks used to let them do! -

Robb and Elissa, It was great meeting both of you! It was nice to see you both very easy going wonderful people. Your baby is beautiful and well adjusted to the noise and people. She is a doll. (and I don't generally like babies) Me and Toni had a great time. It was his first event of this kind, and he smiled ear to ear the whole time. Thanks for coming and inviting us!
