  1. ^ Personally I found the middle row 6 to be the best on Gold Striker, which is definitely different from most GCIs and most woodies in general. Do you seriously think Apocalypse is a better ride than Giant Dipper?
  2. Viper is still a great ride..its rough as you'd expect it to be for it's age but nothing like Revolution. I don't think it's the right time for an Intamin woodie because either it'd be a third woodie or you'd have to completely demo Colossus which I don't agree with, as opposed to an RMC treatment which I think would be a good thing. If Viper was removed I'd like to see a steel coaster in it's place..in my biased opnion Id like to see a giga or similar over there, but I dont think we'd be that lucky.
  3. Wikipedia has no part in writing or editing the articles.
  4. ^^ From what I could dig up real quick it looks like almost exactly 1 year ago at La Ronde...but you're still correct, it seems more likely than it is because of all of the sensationalist journalism...same thing with plane crashes.
  5. So much cringe and facepalm in that video..
  6. Yeah I think a wing rider is likely just based on SFMM's seeming need to have a little bit of everything, I was a little surprised they went with YC when they announced it instead of a wing rider already. It's actually the biggest reason I love SFMM so much regardless of the individual merit of a single coaster. The fact that they have more coasters in total is minor, the best part is if you think about it is that they have a Stand-up, a Suspended, a 4D, a ZacSpin, a Floorless, a Flying, an Invert, an Arrow Looper, a Reverse Freefall, a Mine Train, a Hypercoaster...I love the variety.
  7. ^ Depending on who it is and your relationship to them I hope they are either reported or held responsible in some way..vandalizing a ride is so inexcusable.
  8. When I was there on 7/8, Vortex was down the whole day. The employee blocking the entrance said he was told they were replacing wheels on the trains. If it's true, it might have something to do with it.
  9. ^ Ouch..I did not notice that. Still a great article and it's clear that they did put forth the effort to do a good job despite what is clearly just an oversight since they correctly identify it as hydraulic in the article itself.
  10. ^^^ I also thought it notable that they published this image which correctly identifies RMC and Gerstlauer.
  11. I know it's a few pages back by now but yes completely. Not only just compared to articles about this incident, but journalism in general nowadays. I'm going to write the authors of that article and thank them for how well done it was. It is refreshing to know that there is still a main stream newspaper out there that takes the time to do things the right way and is not just trying to get the scoop as quickly as possible no matter the cost.
  12. ^ I listened to the 911 call and it sounded like it took quite a while (relatively speaking) to right the boat (since the caller mentioned CP employees in addition to guests in the water helping with it)..could have been a lot worse. Glad everyone made it out without serious injury.
  13. I feel like I could ride Grizzly sitting on the front of the train, (not that I would ever seriously attempt such a thing, Im such saying, it's a very tame ride). It just occurred to me that Gold Striker has redundant seat belts, which I think is interesting because it is a brand new ride only open for a couple months. Admittedly I don't know a whole lot about the mechanics of the restraints, so I'm curious given that it's a new ride if there's something different about Gold Striker's restraints where it would need the seat belt, or if it was just a choice that GCI or CGA made to add them regardless, it certainly adds a bit to the dispatch times on just about any coaster. Grizzly is an extreme example of slow dispatches though.
  14. ^ I've also seen in this thread a couple other users report they got rides on the modified seats, one user actually specified which seat and train he found one in if you want to dig for that post.
  15. They will always cater to the majority, and the majority just wants YOLO.
  16. "Gold Striker kicks a lot of half tunnel ass"
  17. Great job, finally a video that makes the ride look as fast as it is.
  18. ^ Yeah, they're all similar but I don't think any of them are identical, they look like they all start with the same basic layout and are slightly customized to the buyer's needs.
  19. The other El Locos are all pretty similar. http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8573
  20. ^ ^^ ^^^ Another user reported that they are slowly replacing the harnesses one by one so until they finish it will be hit and miss depending on what seat you get.
  21. Suspected he wasn't in Northern Cali just for SFDK! Glad to see you liked it Robb, it sure is a winner.
  22. No but your name is signed on the back. They take your photo when you buy the pass and although they don't put your photo on the pass like Six Flags, when they scan your pass at the entrance it shows the employee your photo on their screen so they can see if you're the right person.
  23. For YOLOCoaster and X2 it is $15 per person per ride to skip the line. You have to purchase your reservation at the Flash Pass office. You can do the same for Lex Luthor.
