That first drop is just insane in the warmer weather. I was definitely seeing stars during the first turn Everyone on LeviaTHON should have an amazing time at the park this year! The water park is also a great to be at that point in the summer either right at opening or near closing. -

Are operations getting any better throughout the park? I remember the seemingly endless waits for everything back in 2008, in particular Great Bear. Storm Runner's wait was just insane. If it wasn't for ERT, I'm not sure how many rides we would have enjoyed and it's the reason why I was never in any rush to get back to the park until Sky Rush came along. Would current operations be Magic Mountain-like, Mount Olympus-like or somewhere in between? Sky Rush really does look fantastic, almost like Maverick on steroids. I really can't wait to ride, whether it uses al dente rigatoni or not. New Texas Giant gave me bruises to last a week or two but once you figure out how to brace yourself a bit, it's just insane fun. I just figure it's another reason to get back to the gym at some point to add some currently non-existent leg extensions to the non-existent cardio lol I remember really liking Wildcat a lot. -

^I was just being sarcastic We can add to the obviousness by me saying that we don't have those here. Regardless, the point is well taken but I have a feeling that they're not done around that area yet. -

Sorry, what's a Benjamin? With paint, It already looks better than other Cedar Fair tunnels, with the exception of Maverick. Personally, I'm not a fan of tunnels so I'd rather none. It is a great head chopper though. -

Wow, very interesting but doesn't Knott's already the same merchandise and pins? The more I look at the announcement, the more I think that this was meant for another park. Although maybe unexpected it really is a nice idea, especially while the focus seems to be on improving the overall feel of the park through so many smaller initiatives that a guest may not directly see before adding in what I'm sure will be a great new attraction in a year or two. Raffi did the same when he was VP&GM up here and it paid off in 2006 and 2007. There were a lot of great new ideas and attention to small details that directly improved the guest experience for all types of guests. After visiting Knott's for the first time this year, I really enjoyed the park a lot. They're definitely going in the right direction.

A great day at the park today with Jon and Josh! Talk about the perfect weather too--a manic change from last week! Pass holder hour and the morning hours were fantastic and workable since most of the crowds were in a massive line to have seasons passes processed. After that, the masses moved inside and Behemoth jumped up to an an hour wait and Leviathan to about an hour and a half shortly after lunch. Leviathan was running insanely fast today. Riding without a winter coat was fantastic. The tunnel gives a great head chopper effect. Blink and you'll miss it though! Behemoth was also running really well with great air. Even though Behemoth was running in a similar way compared to the last three seasons, it's amazing how smooth Leviathan is in comparison. Oh, I have to give a huge shout out to Wild Beast since it rode with a truly "classic and authentic wooden coaster feel", more so than Minebuster...read into that what you will. On of the biggest surprises was Dragon Fire. When you climb up Dragon Fire's hill while staring at Leviathan, you think you're going to keep climbing and then Dragon Fire's drop just comes literally out of no where and not when you'd expect. A very strange feeling, mostly for those sitting in the second half of the train. A really beautiful day with everything at the park running really smoothly for opening day, including the Fast Pass system. Wind Seeker had some opening jitters but finally opened around 4:30pm. Sledge Hammer was being tested and worked on so it should hopefully be open for next weekend. I had to visit guest services on such a busy day since I was big red X on the computer when my pass was scanned. Maybe I'm that sinister Dr. X? Anyways, even that line up moved quickly and the problem with my pass renewal was fixed with zero issues. Take a look at Leviathan's line today. Any headache or nausea caused by looking at that pic can be easily cured with a Fast Pass. We saw about five to six people at every major ride we rode using them. It was managed well and was pretty seamless. Hard to believe the season has started! Here's Leviathan's line up at around 3:30pm using the "extended, extended queue" -

Wow, a very entertaining read over the past few pages! I guess enthusiasts, despite the name, are never 100% enthused. That’s totally fine if a speed coaster isn’t your thing. I just find it funny when people try to create some sort of frankencoaster by adding out of place elements that have already been designed into Behemoth. The coaster, as of this past Friday, opened about 18 months to the day they started planning and designing it specifically for Wonderland. There’s got to be a good reason for the brake run that I’m sure an engineer from B&M would be happy to answer that one day. I spoke to a few people who were at the corporate bank days this past weekend and no matter the age, the huge smiles and excitement while they talked about Leviathan are a pretty good indicator of how the majority of park guests will react. It is a phenomenal addition to the park, just as i305 and Millennium Force were at other Cedar Fair parks. This ride will take your breath away just looking at it while walking up to the front gate, just as Behemoth does as you drive by it for what seems like forever getting to the parking lot. -
SDC is such a great park! Really looking forward to seeing what this ends up becoming. A wood coaster is such a perfect fit, “if that’s what it’ll end up being” and really seemed like the only thing missing when comparing to Dollywood. Powder Keg I think is reason enough alone to go back, so this will be great. Ok, maybe another reason is a night cap at a jamboree or at the Yakov Smirnoff theatre?

^not to worry, the ride does not come close to any buildings and there is still lots of room in that area. Consider this--if you were to take Behemoth's brake run and straighten out the entire section from the start of the brake section into the station, it would probably be as long or longer than Leviathan's brake section, even if lower to the ground. Plus, even in cold weather, Leviathan's trains are flying into the brake run at a much faster speed than other coasters. Lots of variables to think about so the only way to explain it is that each coaster's break run is a necessity for its design. It sure does stand out though -

Glad everyone is liking the POV and updates! Some great comments and observations so far! Thanks everyone for checking out the coverage. If you haven't already, please check out and like the POV on YouTube ! I should offer full disclosure. I am a huge Millennium Force fan so I found Leviathan to be exceptional. I also love i305 and Ride of Steel for similar reasons (don't judge me haha). What I think is cool about the two B&Ms at Canada's Wonderland is that they are so different that you can form an opinion as to which you like better quite clearly if you are more into airtime/ forces taking priority over speed. That's not to say that Leviathan doesn't have any airtime as it certainly has some funky/ strange stuff going on over the low to the ground sections, but that's just not its emphasis. If you're someone who thinks Leviathan isn't long enough and needs other elements, then the ride is just not your type of ride and that is totally fair. Leviathan is plenty long and by the time you hit the block section, you'd be very satisfied if you're a fan of this style of coaster. Adding another type of element would make it strange, as if the designers didn't really know what this coaster's identity should be. Behemoth already has that other stuff and it's put to great use I think.
