  1. I used to work right near them, and it sure looks like Minnehaha. Chris B
  2. No outright SCREAMING, maybe some whoopin' and a little hollerin'. If I'm enjoying a ride a lot, I may start laughing, maybe even giggling. I used to "commentate" a lot, but I don't really do it much except on multiloopers now. Chris B
  3. I'm at 415. I would like to hit the 500 on the UK trip, but I need like 45 coasters between then and now, so I don't know if I can do it. Maybe I can hit the Australian Gold Coast and hit southern Japan or something. Chris B
  4. Actually, I am on a US Navy ship in the western Pacific right now, and Longwang is preventing us from reaching Okinawa. As for the name, yeah it sounds pretty funny, but they have so many typhoons (hurricanes in the Pacific) over here that they recycle names every six years. Chris B
  5. El Toro gathered up Rolling Thunder in it's arms and prepared to make sweet love. Chris B
  6. Meh, not to seem snobby, but Duane's got hundreds of coasters all over the world he can't even get pictures for on the site. Since I get to travel to some out of the way places, I try to seek out these parks to try and "fill out" the database. Check out my posts in the "Last coaster you rode" thread, and you'll see what I mean. Chris B
  7. OK, 300 yen to ride, check. Must be over 110 cm to ride with an adult, and over 120 cm to ride alone? Sounds good so far. A whole bunch of Kanji that means nothing to me. 65? Probably can't ride if you are over 65. No clue what 10 is, but it seems to be 2 times 5 something. Ah! warning symbols! No pets. OK. No Smoking. OK No frosty mugs of ale? No, probably just no drinking. No one with heart problems. Makes sense. What's that? No pregnant women carrying or doing laundry? WTF is that about? Chris B WTH!?!
  8. That's Hitachi Seaside Park for those of you who know less Japanese than me, and I don't know much! I rode Mad Mouse and Through The Woods Jet Coaster on Saturday in a typhoon! The rides were pretty lame, but the mouse has the coolest (In that Joe Cool way) cars ever on a mouse! Chris B It looks good, but it was somewhat slow. At least it was smooth. (Especially considering the Vekoma style track!) Mad Mouse's SUPER UBER COOL purple car.
  9. Largely because I haven't been to Kuwait in years! I'm only sortof kidding, I seem to get to some really out of the way parks. By the way, the B&M in Kuwait isn't at Entertainment City, but rather a new park closer to the city center. EC is actually in Doha, about 45 minutes west of Kuwait City. It was an interesting park to say the least! Chris B Currently riding out of the way coasters in Japan!
  10. It always blows me away how fast some of the woodies go up. There's still a lot of hammerin' to go before next year, though! Chris B I have got to get to IN!
  11. Flying Coaster Station: The Ride Single train ops, no stacking, just strap in, "assume the position," return to vertical, get off. :? All the extra clearing is for the 8 hour queue line with TV's you can't really see in the glare because they are scratched so badly, rerunning the Mr. Six commercials until you run from the park screaming. (The queue's 8 hours because the ops are hand selected from all the other rides for extra special slowness.) Chris B
  12. Yeah, this one definitely looks like a winner, yeah definitely. Definitely a winner, yeah. Wheel of Fortune. Chris B
  13. How about something along the lines of "Inappropriate at Disney." Ride concepts that would never happen there, Mickey misbehaving, Unsafe at any price, etc. Seems like fertile ground for the twisted folk that hang around here. Chris B
  14. Balder's obviously the best of the three; the car on the freeway looks like a plastic car from an old train set. Goliath's one fault is the rail of Colossus in the foreground. If it were a model, you'd only need to move the camera up an inch or less (depending on the scale) to get a more convincing shot. Xcelerator's clue is the focus gradient is too drastic. The cardboard tube effect is awesome, but my eyes were grabbed first by the way the blur just stops as your eye travels down the top hat. Very impressive, nonetheless. How did you come across the idea? Chris B
  15. I went to Carowinds a few years ago, If memory serves, (and it usually doesn't) It seems like the waterpark would need to be in one state or the other based on available property. Does that sound right? Chris B
  16. My DVD order is placed. Now begins the wait for October 1, so I can start waiting "by the mailbox." I'm guessing that the UK trip just became Vol. 8? Chris B Now if I can just convince the sales reps at TPR that being on the trip should count towards $10 off Vol. 3....
  17. So, is your Dad Army or Air Force? I can't remember which base is in/near Heidelburg. Isn't that very near Holiday Park? I remember staying at a base near HP during one of my own trips in Europe. I can sympathize with you about living overseas, at least I chose to move to Italy, instead of being dragged along by the parents. On that vein, I haven't lived in the US since 2000! Enjoy Germany and Europe! Tell us if you get to Oktoberfest! Chris B
  18. I didn't think most alpine slides have chain lifthills you ride or brakes external to the ride vehicle. Er, what's a pretzel ride? Chris B
  19. Silverwood's wood pair Holiday World's wood pair/threesome Shivering Timbers Ghostrider Thunderhead Rollercoaster at PNE These are the woodies I hear most constantly raved about that I haven't gotten to ride. Yet. Chris B
  20. Hi, my name is Chris, and I am a Credit Whore. Hi, Chris. I count everything that shows up on RCDB. Water coasters, (not flumes) Powered coasters and Kiddie coasters. I know many people don't count these, many do. Counting coasters is a personal thing, and everyone has different opinions. Some folks don't count Superman at 6FMM, some do for example. Make your own rules, then stick by them or modify them as you see fit. Chris B 413 including The Rudolph coaster (powered) at Seoul Land on Monday.
  21. I brought these home with me to show my Mom what Japan is like. All the stuff outside the parks during "I'm Turning Japanese" in particular. Chris B
  22. Yesss, must have gratuitous coaster construction site photos soon, Master. I want to see footers, footers make me happy to see the footers, please let me see footers soon, Master. Heh eh heh eh...
  23. Wow, I only said nine words... Still Chris B, Even in milk!
