  1. - What board do you read first? The top one, the Donkey one. - How often do you visit? Every day, once a week, NEVER! Every day, it's also called being at work - How many pages through each board do you read? (meaning do you read just the first page of topics or multiple pages?) Just the first one - Are there certain types of posts you read more than others? Mainly new coasters, or topics that are looking for opinions - Do you do anything else besides reading the forum (chat room, profile, searching, main site photos, etc) just the boards, main site when there's new stuff, very occaisonally the chat room (like once a month at best) - Tell us anything else you want about your TPR visits! no comment, just move on
  2. I'm more if I'm there I may as well make an effort to ride every coaster, I think when I was approaching 200 coasters I was starting to get a bit more determined to get credits (though not to the extent that I would go out of my way to ride a crap coaster) but now I've passed that mark it's like whatever. I definitely wouldn't do any travel to ride a mediocre coaster so I get the credit.
  3. I had an "n" last year in the ever ridden column for El Toro which is only like my fave woodie by a thousand miles.
  4. Good call Mitch, I check the processed ballots out to see how it's going but I just rate coasters how I like them. Not being able to see the ballots will certainly add some suspense to the final result. Great poll by the way, I know Warner Bros Movie World used Superman Escape's ranking in your poll in it's promotional material after we let them know how it went. I guess the only drawback of not making the processed ballots visible is you can't check your own ballot for mistakes, I know I made one mistake last year and had to resend my ballot.
  5. I'm a huge El Toro fan and probably would a huge Balder fan if I had ridden it so this looks awesome. Thanks for the pics I have been very curious about the layout. This could well be the coaster to knock off Balder and Toro at the top among non wood coaster purists ("they're not wood coasters").
  6. Thanks heaps for that Robb, looks like a fun little ride, much better than the Intamin one at Dreamworld.
  7. Very nice, I have to do Halloween some time. At least Movie World's Halloween on the Gold Coast in Australia is starting to look like an american theme park Halloween, so that may suffice. Which park has the best Halloween?
  8. I'm now disappointed I didn't ride this now when I was there, just to add to my stupidity of being to tired to go to Geauga Lake for the first time on the midwest trip (at least with that one, some of their best coasters will be on the East Coast trip). Was Earthquake any good?
  9. El Toro does feel like a steelie but the steelie it feels like is Superman Ride of Steel at New England, I call it Superman Ride of Wood. It's at 483 ballots now, looks like it will be the biggest year ever, I'm so glad I now have a decent wood coaster count to vote on thanks to the fantastic TPR midwest trip.
  10. The site is great and deserves the accolades.
  11. Indiana Beach owns, it's shame they aren't getting Cornball Express instead at Knott's. It will be interesting to see the layout of Pony Express.
  12. This looks really impressive, and I hear it was packed (sold out 10/31, and close to sold out the other two nights). I may have to mosey on up to the Gold Coast next October.
  13. Sounds like a kiddie ride, maybe it will be a horse themed Intamin booster bike like the Moto Coaster at Dreamworld, doesn't sound like anything that will draw me to Buena Park anytime soon.
  14. Death At A Funeral - amusing and some original touches but not the next great British comedy. Captivity - rather bland, not into torture movies but it was 90 minutes of Elisha Cuthbert so it was the greatest film ever.
  15. That's the beauty of it, they have left it open for our interpretation. Other names tossed around in the Six Flags boardroom: X + Y Coldplay Coaster XXX Vin Diesel Coaster I actually think it's X squared personally.
  16. There's bad coasters which is fine with me but the one's that really s**t me are the ones that could have been good but have been rendered mediocre because of bad maintenance and/or too much braking, some of the main offenders: Raging Bull: this ride had nothing and it could have been exciting without all the brakes. Mean Streak: they trimmed any possible thrill out of it, and did someone put rocks on the track? Superman The Escape (SFMM): Do they run ever this at anywhere near full speed, at least it's nice and cool in the queue tunnel. Cyclone (Dreamworld Australia): This Arrow looper could have been designed to be something good and it was so tame, the drop on my driveway is steeper.
  17. I'm more worried about where they'll cane you. Man, that's like handing you your favourite drink and then saying don't drink it. Oh well, when it's all dark and everyone's asleep well into the flight and you've got that special somone with you - one, two, occupied.
  18. If El Toro can't make your top fifty you either haven't ridden it, or you are rigging the poll, but you never know some people might hate smooth, crazy ejector airtime.
  19. I just checked the processed ballots, 417 already looking like the biggest year, all credit to Mitch for a great poll. All Sydney Aussies don't forget to vote, let's make it known that the now defunct Bush Beast is the most mediocre woodie on earth.
  20. Well I guess a large quantity of gravy will be no good either. Seriously, a lot of parks like Cedar Point have on-line stores with lots of cool stuff.
  21. Crikey Robb, you are like the Alexander the Great of coasters, are you going to weep when there is no coasters left to conquer? Nice to see Voyage not in your top ten, too overrated.
  22. Here's my sweet 16: 1. My Favorite Steel 2. El Toro 3. The Voyage 4. Hades 5. Kentucky Rumbler 6. Raven 7. Cornball Express 8. Cyclops 9. Avalanche 10. Viper (GAm) 11. The Beast 12. Thunderbolt (Kennywood) 13. American Eagle (GAm) 14. Lightning Racer - L 15. Lightning Racer - T 16. Jack Rabbit (Kennywood)
  23. I'm still struggling to work out how they are spending $10m for what they are doing. I mean how much would those new trains cost? And the tunnel, I imagine it would something like the tunnels at Cedar Point with some lights and special effects thrown in. As for the loading bay, it's going to dual loading I think, a bit of work but not those dollars. Someone must be making a nice profit out of this. At least the end result will be good.
  24. Arrowfanman wrote: Sorry, my comments were tongue in cheek, I don't ever expect to be riding Goliath Jr seriously. I'm just one of the terrible people from the arrow bus being stupid. Feel free to delete my previous post, it was inappropriate, I can't delete it myself.
  25. $10 million seems a lot for what they are doing but if we get a far batter ride then great.
