  1. God I hope they do. And it's not the top of the ride where it's loud, but that @!@$ bend! So if you're getting towed up when that happens your ears will bleed. this is a very good point. i imagine SFMM/designers thought of this.
  2. goliath is a weird name. and what's the deal with relocating this, iron wolf, and invertigo? is the thought process here that these rides are no longer popular at their current parks, so we're just gonna pack em up and ship to the east coast, hoping that placement at a new park will increase ridership? i suppose to the GP these new installs will be "brand new". but still, if they became unpopular at their current parks, i would think that would inevitably happen again at the new parks.
  3. as i've said in the other threads, this attraction looks great. 400ft drop tower is just plain nuts.
  4. this ride looks great. very, very low capacity tho. one train with only 12 people? woof.
  5. is this the only B&M invert in the world with a dive loop?
  6. next park.....maybe canada's wonderland actually. leviathan looks awesome.
  7. i wouldnt mind a windseeker at KD (my home park)
  8. ok, nm about the official name being verboten. i was pleased to see nessie, griffon, apollo, and alpie all running 3 trains this past saturday with pretty efficient loading/unloading. you wont see that at six flags
  9. my quick TR from this past sat 08/20: get to the park around 10:30, head straight to mach tower. only waited about 15 min or so. the red/blue/green/yellow loading system is cool and efficient, but the taped-out areas in the queue line have to be temporary because they were getting all torn up/stepped on. the ride itself was better than i expected, but still not as good as the drop tower at KD. breakdown: good: music on the way up, theming, rotating on the way up, placement in the park, color system for quick loading, drop was longer than i thought it would be given how high the brakes come up on the tower bad: vibrating seats right before the freefall (kinda cheesy and also lets you know right when you're going to drop), the rotating on the way up is inconsistent in the vertical direction as well as the spinning direction, drop still isn't long enough got a good view of the construction on verboten (see pic for sign posted near bumper cars, confirmed name seems to be verboten) seems to be coming along nicely, esp the event building. they've cleared significantly back into the drachen fire area. installing a train station back there would be a GREAT idea, because the quickest way to get to the germany section of the park currently is.........walking. lastly, i could NOT get over how EMPTY the park was this past sat. great weather (sunny and 80 or 85), weekend, day after mach tower official opening, and nearly all the rides were walk-ons. it was truly bizarre. the pic i uploaded is the queue line for griffon at about 2pm on a SATURDAY. unreal. verboten - official name griffon queue line at 2pm on saturday
  10. im in south central richmond, felt it good here. pretty cool imo
  11. is verboten being officially announced today at noon?
  12. is monday august 22 the official announcement date for verbolten? if so, that really snuck up on me.
  13. if i had to guess, tomo (sat) will be more of an "official" opening. i'm going, and will let yall know how the crowds/etc are. i plan on going early.
  14. wow no kidding, this ride cycle is gonna be looooong. does anyone know how much shorter this tower is than the one at KD?
  15. lol.........any park that has dueling coasters. there's a few good examples in this thread (hershey with sr/fh and wc/lr, maaaaaybe sfmm with riddler and scream) but none hold a candle to leviathan/behemoth. the best example i can think of is holiday world with their 3 woodies built in 1995, 2000, and 2006. but even that's a little different. i still can't wrap my mind around the decision to built two GIANT, EXPENSIVE, SIMILAR, hyper/giga coasters at the same park only 4 years apart. leviathan belongs at knotts. however, the addition of this fantastic-looking giga coaster is enough to make me want to trek on up to toronto from VA, and stop by niagra falls on the way.
  16. a B&M hyper at KD...........drool.
  17. whoever mentioned the extra-long brake run.......i noticed the same thing. this ride does look amazing though. easily gonna be the best B&M hyper/giga on the planet.
  18. and also how much better is the leviathan website/animations than the skyrush videos? lol.
  19. One hyper and one giga, not two hypers. yeah technically correct, but you know what i mean. the rides are the same genre. also, another thing i just thought of, how can this ride operate with 3 trains if there's no MCBR?
  20. true, i'm sure behemoth is a great ride, and leviathan will be even better (first B&M over 300' is truly marvelous), i'm just tryin to understand why the park built two B&M hypers within 4 years. i cant think of any other park that has built two LARGE coasters this similar so close. i dont think its ever happened.
