It doesn't sound like the hardware is changing much ... more of the preshow and overall theme. Somewhat like what they did with Poseidon's Fury over at IOA years back. Just switch the storyline and add some light effects and presto - new attraction. The orlando sentinel is reporting a December reopening ... that's too soon for any super huge. Mike

Hydra wasn't totally announced when Hercules was closed. They put up a sign that said Hercules was closed and a new roller coaster was coming. Hydra was then announced the following fall. Mike

Thanks for the pics! That water park is amazing. Theming of that level is hard to come by at water parks outside of the big themers. Can't wait to see it all when it's open. Mike

Do my eyes deceive me or do they seriously have a picture of Thunderhawk up on the Dominator press release page? Perhaps those are the ride's new colors?

An update, more track has arrived at Dorney and it's bright yellow. Also a construction update here. Mike

Cedar Fair's offical press release on the matter is out. Here's the important park: "When Cedar Fair concluded that an amusement park and the stadium as proposed could not successfully coexist, Cedar Fair offered the City and the 49ers the option of redeveloping the entire parcel. The next step will be for the citizens and the City of Santa Clara to decide: should the Great America site be used for a new 49ers’ stadium or should the park continue to operate? If the City and its citizens believe that the best use of this property is for a new stadium, then Cedar Fair is willing to consider selling the remainder of its lease and all of its interest and assets to the City or 49ers for fair market value." I actually heard that it might not be Texas Twister from Geauga Lake but another Top Spin that needs to be refurbed and then moved from another Cedar Fair park. Not certain at this point though. Mike

Land South Holdings has a $16.8 million dollar bid in for Cypress Gardens. Not sure who they are, they might have been created just to buy the park. Article Mike

VFFreak07: Dorney's Halloweekends are extremely popular as well. They do have a website each year for them on Dorney's page, it's just not up yet. There's no way Dorney will stop their Halloweekends anytime soon. Mike

Dorney Park has a haunted house up year round, but it's only open during Halloweekends. It could be something along those lines? Mike

Night Slider at Kings Dominion is really great fun, but it hurt my bum for 2 days after I rode it. It's the steep black slide that just drops. Mike When you hit the water at the end you bounce over it at first, hence, sore bum.

I'm a little confused, what do the bucket-head men that appear to have been tossed around the ride have to do with the theme? I remember reading about the theme for the ride but not about those guys. Mike

What does everyone think the non-Kong coaster is? I know that the model isn't perfect, but in this case I really can't make heads or tails out of what they have for the ride. Thoughts?

One article mentions that there will be a King Kong themed coaster. As for images, there are some on here.
