  1. Cool. I'm not really into over-clocking, but I am interested in how the BIOS deals with system fans. I currently have an older Intel board and for some reason it has a variable fan speed on the heat sink. Go figure on that one.
  2. The browser window issues are most likely an IE 8 issue and not so much a windows 7 issue. I don't understand some of the issues with IE 8 like the issue with favorites. If you have a lot of favorites (multiple folders with many bookmarks) and you click on a boomark inside the folder and then go back to the same folder to click on another bookmark the folder will appear locked and won't respond to mouse clicks. It really is a strange bug.
  3. I voted for N7, Angry_Gumball & Jds03. I think that N7 & Angry_Gumball both have nice subtleties in there logo that come off professional yet still are fun looking. I voted for jds03, because I really like the coaster track in the logo.
  4. Just wondering what OS you went with and also how is the BIOS for the 790i Ultra? Thanks.
  5. Awesome. I look forward to signing up. I've been debating on an ACE membership, but it seems like more of a hassle since there not totally online.
  6. Ok now I can't wait to sign up. Thanks Robb for posting the update on the front of the page. Also the Hershey Park backstage tour sounds awesome. I do have one question though. How would family members be handled with club events? Like would you do something like ACE does with guests of members at events or would it strictly be club TPR members? If so, would you offer a family membership option? Thanks again!
  7. 1. What are your initial thoughts? I like the idea of the premium membership especially when you mention "discounts" and "early access" to info. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? I think that instead of doing a $15 credit to the TPR store that you could offer one new DVD per year for free or like a deal where you buy the DVD and the get the Ipod version for free. Maybe do like an extra goodie bag during Christmas (end of year) or like perhaps for a big trip that you have going. 3. Is this something that interests you? Yes. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? Well it all depends on the value of what is offered, but doesn't everything? 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. I'm not sure that the exclusive forum would be great. I would hate to miss out on something or be unable to read a post because it is in some member only forum.
  8. How functional is that "tap control" feature?
  9. Olympus make some underwater cameras. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_digital_sw.asp They are under there "Stylus Tough" Series. I'm not sure how good they are, but there specs look pretty good. Also, I don't know about Aquatica or other major water parks, but at Hershey they don't allow underwater photography at all so be careful.
  10. No, Hershey doesn't have any type of flash pass system. When I paid for parking on both days they included a flyer about the Hersheypark Fan Club. On the back of that is a mobile website (mobile.hersheypark.com) that promises up-to-date information on ride availability. I'm not sure how useful that will be.
  11. The park crowds weren't that bad. I didn't venture down by the Comet, but the line for Fahrenheit didn't seem that long. I totally agree with you DATman. The lazy river was rather boring and it was really annoying that you could only go around one time. Thanks again for all of your nice comments on the photos.
  12. Thanks for all of the kind words on the photos. Here are some more random photos from around the park and at chocolate world. Some characters that were out briefly. It looks like they are doing some work on the left stack. Another Modern Fad?
  13. Thanks! I think it would have been cool if they kept the Canyon River Rapids ride and just modified the layout to go around the wave pool. Overall I like the new additions, but I hope that they can speed up the lines on the lazy river.
  14. Hello Everyone, I went to Hershey to check out the new wave pool and lazy river. I was expecting the weather to give me some grief, but both days turned out quite nicely. I arrived at the park around 11:00 AM on Saturday and made my way directly over to the new boardwalk attractions. I like the locker systems that Hershey has. They are a little expensive: $10.00 for a small and $15.00 for a large. Both offer you a full days worth of use. My wife and I opted for a large, because we had her new camera with us. The lockers use a wristband type of lock with a central hub controlling multiple lockers. Sorry if they had this same system for the past few years, but this was the first time I have used them so I figured I would mention it. After getting a locker and changing into our bathing suits my wife and I headed down to the lazy river. You enter the lazy river near the Roller Soaker coaster up some stairs and through a turnstile which I thought was quite strange. It felt more like a regular ride then a water attraction. My only other water park experience was at Aquatica last May. After you go through the turnstile you walk down a ramp that leads you into the water where the ride op hands you an inner tube (either single or double depending on what you want). Ok, so the river itself was clean and had some fountains that spray water on you, but that was all. Also, you could only go around one time which is all I did. I would suggest going early in the day to ride it, because after 1:00 PM or so the line got quite long stretching out back to the lift hill of the Roller Soaker. The wave pool was a bit on the small side, again I'm used to Aquatica's two side by side wave pools. The pool itself has a 6 ft. max water depth and also has a turnstile entrance which is located all the way to the right near the Cabana rentals, which are just blue tents with two lounge chairs underneath. The waves were a bit on the weak side, but I think that is mostly do the small size of the pool. I went out to the 5 ft. section and the waves pushed me back a little bit, but not too much. They also have a monitor display above the wave pool, which I think is designed to give you a countdown for when the waves will start, but it either wasn't working or the sun was just too bright to see it. There's the entrance ramp and the start of the line. Extended line. Pretty empty. Oh wait, they are still on line. I think they had some technical difficulties and had to shut it down for a bit. New Cabanas Fenced in.
  15. I love your Expedition series the way it is. I enjoy being able to see previews of the full POV of the ride on disk 1 and seeing the full ride on disk 2. I would like to see more of your and other TPR trip members opinions on the coasters that you ride and of the parks in general. Like if the park was worth visiting or maybe some tips (i.e. the coaster was smoother towards the front of the train; things of that nature). Thanks
  16. I've seen vintage video of WDW's MK that also had a piano player on a bike thing...typically it must have been too dangerous in the US but is fine overseas They have a piano player on a bike down by the Boardwalk resort in Orlando.
  17. Nice photos! I really like the shots you got of Great Bear. Is the spinning on the first hill on the Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge new for this season? I didn't remember it spinning last September when I rode it. It was initially closed when I got there around noon, but while sitting on the bench near the que about 2 minutes passed and the ride opened up.
  18. Dollywood is a really nice park. They have a lot of neat shops and good food too.
  19. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? The “forum updates, news, and other stuff” section. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? The search bar. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? No. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I’ll scroll down if I want to re-look at an older update or if I missed an update. 5. How often do you look at the front page? At least once a day. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? Never. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? A random photo box similar to the rcdb.com site that when you click it brings you that photo trip report page. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? I like the color scheme the way it is.
  20. Nice photos. I'm glad they put a path connecting Mystery Mine to Tennessee Tornado.
  21. Hersheypark - 10 Coasters BGE - 5 Coasters Great Adventure - 12 Coasters (After The Chiller Removal) I don't get your complaint. Great Adventure still has an absurdly good coaster collection; better than what Hershey or BGE has, especially Hershey. The Chiller had a lot of problems, which they had spent years trying to fix. Eventually you have to just give up. Why not say Premier sucks since they're more to blame for this ride sucking than Six Flags is? Six Flags bashing is so three years ago. I’m not going against there coaster collection. I’m going against them taking the ride out. They have already taken out Freefall, Spin Meister and Pendulum in that area alone. What are they going to do with all of that space? I just find Hershey and BGE nicer in appearance and layout. I could say that Premier sucks, but I think they had a cool concept for a ride. It just sucks that Premier and/or Great Adventure couldn’t follow through with it.
  22. I happen to agree with your opinion on the six flags parks being bad. Maybe I was just spoiled by going to Busch Gardens Europe & Hershey Park. Lately it's like every time Six Flags puts in a new ride they take out two to compensate. I just don't get what there trying to do. Now there is like nothing over in that section of the park.
  23. That would be cool. I'm glad there is more coaster merchandise coming out.
  24. I thought the price was a bit steep too at first, but then I thought about what it would cost me in gas/hotel stay/park entrance fee plus money to purchase them at the park making it seem like a bargain to be able to call up and order them. That sucks about Six Flags. The batman trains would be cool. Are there any plans for a Great Bear train? Oh Arnie at Busch Gardens mentioned them getting a third product sometime in the near future?? Can you elaborate on that at all? Apollo's Chariot maybe?
