One week would probably be enough, but I think its possible to spend two weeks in Ohio. A two week trip is the better idea if you want to hit all three major parks and all three major cities (Cleveland, Colombus, Cincinati). You need two days at CP, if you go to a waterpark, one day will be enough, you can see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and natural history museum in one day, the Cleveland Zoo takes another, mayby spend two days at the beach, one day at GL, driving to Cincinati and seeing something there takes another day, add another day for PKI, add one or two more days for Colombus, one more day possibly for flying out or driving out or whatever. The grand total of days for that quick type is.. 12- 13 days. So yeah, if the above intenerary interests you you can spend near two weeks in Ohio, but I would reccomend going for one week to Ohio and then taking an entirly different trip with the money saved by cutting the Ohio trip in half. Hit one park, make it CP of course, but if you have time for a second trip and don't mind the drive to Cincinati, make the second park PKI. A one week trip could be two days at CP, one in Cleveland, one at the zoo, one at a waterpark, two driving days for PKI (there and back) and one day for PKI. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, just ask!

Julie's Vacation on a Stick Photo TR - Day 6
SonOfBeastSucks replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
You by far write the best TR's! You made a bad day a fun read! Great job. -
Yeah, as in the above statement, The Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is really neat and fun. Cleveland also has a pretty good zoo and a natural history museum. If you have the time, PKI is also a really good park. One more thing, if you are a member of AAA, they have free guide books about every state and they have several places to see and places to stay and eat. Ok, this is really the last thing I have to say.... there are also several water parks and beaches in Ohio, in and near CP.

Thanks everyone! I don't really see any reason to go. I get in free with my PKI season pass but a horrible flyer, SLC and a clone of a ride I have at PKI with a handfull of.............. "large" flats doesn't sound worth the seven hour drive from my house. Am I wrong or right? -

I don't have any comments about the your TR ........ but how long do you need to see the park? I plan on hitting LC and SFNE in the same day. -
What are your favorite bands? Mine are Nine Inch Nails and Green Day.

I like Diet Coke better than Diet Pepsi, but like Regular Pepsi better than Regular Coke. On the subject, I noticed on my trip to CA, nearly everywhere serves Pepsi products. Only a few places serve Pepsi in Indiana... Applebees, GreenStone, Subway, Taco Hell and thats about it I think.

I was just wondering if the Italian Job at PKI and PCW were clones or different some way. Thanks!

^Because I'm an idiot who eneded up not riding X, not liking Goliath all that well, who had a bad experence of RR and whose favorite ride in the park was an over-used clone built over a parking lot. Also, I thought DCA would be a waste of time because it was built on 55 small acres where a parking lot used to be. Now, I didn't get to experence it and may not be back for ten years!

Worst Coaster Ever?
SonOfBeastSucks replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As you can see from my name, I also think Son Of Beast is the worst. A runner up is Twisted Twins. No, I don't hate wood, I just hate these. -

Thanks! I knew I would remember it if I heard the name. -
I have forgotten the name of the major park in or outside of Montreal, Quebec, could anyone tell me? Also, if anyone has been to the city, is it worth visiting? Thanks

I am taking an (about 4 day) trip next summer. The choices I have so far are New Olreans and SFNO, Boston and SFNE, Whitewater Rafting, PKD and possibly Washington D.C., and Niagra Falls, SFDL and Toronto. Which trip sounds the best? Thanks! Update- 7/30/05 I have two new selections... BGT & Tampa. The second is SFFT and San Antonio.

On my recent trip to California I ate at a pizza place in Santa Monica called Brunos. It was possibly the best pizza I have ever had. Has anyone ever eaten there? If you go to Sanata Monica, eat there! While on the subject of food, Atwood Cfae in Downtown Chicago has the best cheesecake in the world. Its called brown sugar cheescake.

You can't rely on Screamscape for anything, like thrashy papparazi magazines, they make up rumors. I always have dreams of going to cool parks and waking up before I get on anything. -

Nice TR. Its great what the Borg ride ops did. You probably wouldn't find that at some SF parks! -
Great TR! Glad that you had a good time because SFNE is in the running for a trip I am taking in 2006.

Allthough I already posted my SFMM TR, I have decided to post a TR about everything else I did on my trip to California. Day 1- July 16 We flew into SFO and arrived early, around noon. We stayed at the Powel Hotel near the cable car turnaround. It was an older (built 1908) but otherwise nice place. The first day we walked around a little bit and ate at a restuarant called Max's. The food ordered by everyone alltogether was a chicken pot pie (it was huge, the size of a regular pie) that wasn't that good, a bacon cheesburger, which was very good, and a chicken salad which I really don't know or care. After that, we just walked around the city some, took a ride on the cable car and thats about it. Day 2- July 17 This was the last day in San Francisco. The morning was full of drama. We thought the tour we were taking was picking us up at the hotel at 9 AM, but it got there at 8:30! So, we rushed all around and ran down to the bus. When we got to the tour company headquarters to start the tour, the driver was a little late. No big deal. But then, 45 minuites later he called in sick and the tour was canceled. So we had to take the afternoon tour and skip Alcatrz. We wasted the time until the tour at Fishermans Wharf across the street, a tourists paradise, with horrible shops and bad restuarants. When we finnaly got on the tour, it was a lot of fun. We had a fun tour guide and saw a lot of the city. After this we walked around Chinatown and then went back to the hotel. I liked San Francisco! Day 3- July 18 This was the day we rented the car. We got it at an Alamo rental car place. It was a white Sebring convertible. After we got the car, we went on a Redwoods train ride which was pretty fun. After that we drove to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. That was okay, but not great. I did like the outside yard and landscaping though. We then got a cheap hotel in a nearby town called 'Los Gotos" and stayed the night. The rooms were nothing special but I did like the landscaping and outdoor pool and trail areas. We ate at a place called Bakers Square, which was decent. Day 4- July 19 Today, we drove to San Simeon, the town near Hearst Castle. We got there in the evening and satyed at the Best Western Cavalier Oceanfront Resort. It was nice for a Best Western. We ate at the hotel restaurant. I got Fettichini (sp?) Alfredo and it was really good. There was a bon fire on the beach taht night for fun and I talked to some nice people from Orange County. Day 5- July 20 We took a tour of Hearst Castle that day. It was really neat. It was done in an Italian style and had a cool, big pool. We also saw the movie about it and it was pretty good. We then ate at a place called Main St. Grill in nearby Cambria, which sucked, and drove to Santa Barbara. We got to Santa Barbara around 6 and it looked like a fun place. We stayed at a hotel called Casa Del Mar Suites. It was nice and our room had two bedrooms, a living/ TV room and kitchen. It was a block away from the beach. We did a little shopping and the rest of my party ate at a Mexican grill, but I don't like most Mexican food, so I had Starbucks and pizza for dinner at the hotel. Day 6- July 21 We first went to the beach. It wasn't much fun. I don't mind going to the beach but the water was freezing, there were fruit flies all over the beach, the water was dirty and some nasty stuff was washing up to shore. We left the beach around noon and ate at a cool place called Endless Summer Cafe. We then walked around a little and reaxed at the hotel some. Then we walked into town and at an Italian place called Aldos. I got F. Alfredo again and it sucked big time. We then saw Wedding Crashers, whcih was really funny. Day 7- July 22 We got up early ate at a place called Sambos At The Beach and left for Santa Monica. We stayed at the Hotel California. It was REALLY nice. It had all hardwood floors, leather sofas, a king size bed, kitchen and brekfast nook.I could easily live in an apartment that size. We then walked to the Third Street Promenade and had dinner at a pizza place that was pretty good. We shopped a little and I got a few things at Old Navy. Day 8- July 23 We woke up early and drove to a surfing competition in Malibu. It was pretty fun. We then went to the much better than Santa Barbara beach in Santa Monica. I got a chance to ride West Roller Coaster at Pacific Park and it was fun for its size. We then spent the rest of the night on the 3rd Street Promenade. Santa Monica was probably my favorite city of the trip Day 9- July 24 We went to SFMM that day. You cqan see my TR on it in the regualr forum section. Another note though is I had my first In N Out burger that very day and it was the best fast food Iv'e ever had. We need some in the mid- West! Day 10- July 25 We stayed at he Hollywood Rossevelt Hotel. It was okay, nothing special. It tried to act nicer than it was really. A note to any gay people: at least half of the guys staying there were gay, so it is a good choice for you if you are staying in the Hollywood area. Hollywood Boulevard was touristy, as I expected it to be. We took a Stars Home Tour, which was okay but I got a little bored. We then looked at the Chinease Theatre and saw Charlie & The Chocolate Factory in the main room, which was okay for the type. We then walked around Hollywood & Highland complex and thats about it. Day 11- July 16 The last day was uneventful. We flew out of LAX. Leaving from our Denver layover though, it was HORRIBLE. People were not able to board until 50 minuites after the plane was suposed to leave, and then it didn't leave until 40 minuites after everyone got on beacuase of mechanical problems. I am never flying United Airlins again!... Unless its a really good deal Well, thats my trip. It was pretty fun, well, I can't think of anything else to say so I hope you enjoyed it!
