  2. Hey everyone! It's not often I get to do this because games take so long to make but here goes! A Boy and His Blob was announced today! So now you all can see what I've been working on in my "day job" for the past 8 months. Read the interview with yours truly and the rest of the Blob Team here: http://wii.ign.com/articles/959/959250p1.html And here are a few screen shots to get you excited! In case you got distracted by the pretty pictures - READ THE INTERVIEW! http://wii.ign.com/articles/959/959250p1.html
  3. Hey everyone! WCB confirmation email has gone out! If you didn't get one (and please check your SPAM mailbox just in case) and you have registered and PAID, please contact me ASAP! --Robb
  4. ^ I see two videos from you - "Laser Remembered" and "Hersheypark B-Roll" They seem to have uploaded correctly. On a side note, you may want to consider changing the name of some of your videos that say "B-Roll" as having looked at them now I realize that what you uploaded was your own footage of the coasters and some people may confuse that with the actual park "B-Roll" that has been released to the media (that's what I thought you were uploading.) Usually the term "B-Roll" is used when you have some stock footage that would work to send to media or another outlet who is looking for some "generic" shots to cut away to. While technically what you posted sort of fits that description, it may be confused for "official" footage - and I'd hate for you to run into some problems later on down the road. --Robb
  5. Even if they are long they do offer the "Roadrunner Pass" which is the same as a Flash Pass and it worked quite well on most of the big rides except for Superman. --Robb
  6. ^ The water part is very hit or miss. The accident that happened actually didn't involve the water part, but it does seem like that is down quite a bit. Out of our three visits in the past year and a half I think I've only seen the water part working once. --Robb
  7. ^ Meh...stupid Wes. Ignored! --Robb
  8. Hey everyone! Just a reminder that we don't have many hoodies left! So if you want to get one, get it NOW! There is no guarantee we'll do these again once they are all gone. http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=3 For only $20 each...that is CHEAP for a hoodie! --Robb
  9. ^ See, I dunno...we've done the resort four times each with different configurations - 1. On property at a Disney Resort Hotel (Ambassador) 2. On property at a Disney partner hotel 3. Off property at the Shinagawa Prince 4. Off Property at the Shinjuku Washington. And, while the train ride from the Prince to the hotel is not THAT bad, it was SOOOOO NICE staying on property and NOT having to do that insane long walk between rail lines at Tokyo Station 8 times! Part of it was just how nice the Ambassador and the rest of the Tokyo Disney hotels are. They are the "DisneySea of hotels" IMO, if you're going to do the "Tokyo Disney Experience" stay on property, even if you're at a partner hotel like the Hilton, but if you want to save some dough, you'll have just as good of time either way. --Robb
  10. Do you think we can charge people for every time they pee while reading this?
  11. I don't know exactly how tall it was but man it FREAKED me out! Especially the side that went from Samarai to where Superman's tower is now. When the mountain dropped from beneath you if felt like you were 300 feet up in the air! Granted it was probably only 100 or so, but it just seemed REALLY tall with the way the ground changed form so quickly. --Robb
  12. This is just REALLY rough, but assume $1500 for airfare, about $400 per night for an on property Disney Resort, and about $250 for a 4-day park hopper. You'll need about $40 per day for food (on the CHEAP) and then whatever extra for "goodies" - what is that.... Realistically, I'd say we spend close to $100 per day between full means, drinks, popcorn, floppy gioza, and other random yummies! About $3500! Now if you shared that room with someone else that brings the cost down $800 cheaper of course. So if you and a buddy went you're looking at approx $2700 each. --Robb "Or for $3500 you can do two weeks in Scandinavia with TPR!" Alvey
  13. ^ El Bumpo IS a good guess since the tower in question is the one on the left hand side of that photo. --Robb
  14. Actually, I wonder is this.... now this... Looks like the same tower just from a different angle. --Robb
  15. I hate to break it to you, but your park options in Rome is actually much worse than even Superland or Luna Park! The only operating coasters in the Rome area that I'm aware of is a Wacky Worm and a powered coaster. I'd suggest taking in some of the culture sights! --Robb
  16. Hey man! Glad to hear you coming to So Cal. I'm going to move this thread to the main forum because I know this has been answered a lot and some of the members here can probably help out too. You may want to do a quick search for "SFMM Help" or "SFMM advice" because I'm pretty sure someone has posted this very recently. I do reccomend getting there EARLY! The park opens at 10:30 and I would suggest being at the parking booths by 9:45 *JUST IN CASE* there is a big crowd (not likely) or if there is an event (may be likely!) I think that Q-Bots will start up this coming weekend (not 100% sure) but if the park is crowded at all, it may not be the worst idea to give it a try! Bummed that it looks like we will miss you this weekend, but maybe some other TPR members will be around? --Robb
  17. The 5 winners of the "What used to be here" contest are: Matt L Joshua Wheeler Chris Cronrath Allen Ayers Sam Johnson The first person to send me a picture was Joshua Wheeler so he gets a big-ol BOX-o-Crap! Congrats guys! Please email me your mailing address to robbalvey@themeparkreview.com Here was the original picture: So what used to be here? That's right! It was the base of one of the Eagle's Flight Towers! And what was Eagle's Flight? It was the park's V-Shaped Sky Way attraction. The section that went from the Samurai Summit station to where Ridder's Revenge is now closed a LONG time ago, but the other section from Samuari to where the base of Superman's tower is now lasted until 1995. DOWNLOAD HIRES VERSION Here's some more photos...
  18. It's being replaced with Philharmagic. Not sure when it closes, but it should be any day now. --Robb
  19. ^ Well, there was at least a fairly looking permanent one located in Orlando...at least in October of 2008 it was there! --Robb
  20. Is this what you are looking for: We have a few more pictures here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=421&linkid=4728 I *think* this may be the one that came from Bell's in Tulsa, OK, but I'm not 100% sure. --Robb
  21. ^ I'm pretty sure he has consulted with other parks, though, for example, I think he may have been on the Starliner team for Cypress Gardens. --Robb
  22. ^ It's ok. I 100% agree the profile system IS confusing. It's actually one of the things on my "to do" list that will eventually streamline it all. --Robb
