  1. Here is a higher quality version of our Liseberg video: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=liseberg_zd2r[/coastertube] This is still possibly one of the best days ever from any TPR tour! --Robb
  2. ^ Yes, but we DO have coaster porn!
  3. Oh, yeah, we've been talking about UK 2010 for a while now.
  4. Good ideas! For the first one, I do actually have help editing some of the DVDs now. Erik "Jiggidy" Johnson, Wes, and Tyler have all helped to edit segments on recent Coaster Expedition DVDs. As for a "box set", well, part of the problem is the materials cost. With the $10 per DVD deal I couldn't discount the DVDs any further and if we did a new "box" there would have to be art created (costs money), new packaging created (costs money), and we'd have to start putting the DVDs into different types of cases (more expensive.) I actually looked into doing a TPR DVD Box Set when we released Volume 10, but what I realized is that it would be MORE expensive to buy the DVDs in a box set than if people bought them one at a time. Remember, we don't sell THOUSANDS of DVDs, not at all. If we did our raw materials costs would go down and perhaps make something like that feasible, but we don't sell enough DVDs. We are usually lucky if we sell 200 copies of each Coaster Expedition DVD over it's LIFETIME, and when you figure that TPR costs about $1000 per month to keep open, do the math, that's not a lot of revunue to keep the site up and running. And the sale of the DVDs *IS* what pays for the site each month. So, bottom line, I want to make the DVDs as available, affordable and accessible to everyone, but I can't justifty something that would cost more money to produce. Hope that makes sense! --Robb
  5. Funny you should mention this! "Theme Parks in the RAW" is actually something we have put together a plan for. Problem is, we just have a very limited amount of time. Each DVD takes me anywhere between 2 to 5 months to complete. For example, I started working on Vol 12 and Raw 3 back in December, and I didn't get them finished until May. If I was doing nothing else but editing the DVDs I could probably crank them out sooner, but I've got my day job, family, TPR trips, website updates, etc.... The Theme Parks in the RAW DVD series *WILL* come out some day....it will just take some time! --Robb
  6. Go back and read the last page of comments. If the fence was really the problem, children would be dying right at left. In this case, the fencing that was there seemed to work fine for TEN YEARS until this incident. So why NOW, because of parents who couldn't be bothered to watch their kids, do they need a new fence? Here, instead of just writing the same things over and over again, I'll just quote Elissa from the first place. Please, be sure you READ the thread before you post. The moral of the story - "Don't be an idiot."
  7. Umm.... I rode Magnum for the first time in 1996. I probably hadn't been on any more than 50 to 60 coasters at that time. I didn't "get it" then either. --Robb "What does Expedition GeForce have to do with me not liking Magnum???" Alvey
  8. ^ Exactly. I'm not the biggest MF fan either but man, I can't even ride Magnum after riding MF. Magnum is just so....sooooo bad! --Robb "I really don't get Magnum!" Alvey
  9. Am I the only one that thinks Magnum is one of the most over-rated rides in the world? Seriously, I think the ride is terrible. I just never "got" what was so amazing about it. Maybe it was amazing when it opened and there wasn't any other coaster over *gasp* 200 feet or that had bunny hills with little pops of airtime, but I just fine the ride to be fairly borning, uncomfortable and not much fun at all. My last visit to Cedar Point in 2007 we were there two days. I gave it one "courtesy ride" and it reminded me why I don't find anything special about it. I honestly probably would not have ridden at all if I wasn't with someone who needed the credit. Am I the only one? --Robb
  10. Offtopic : I was there when it overheated. Also the same day it rolled back twice Please, guys. This is the TERMINATOR THREAD! If you want to talk about Xcelerator overheating, do it in thread that is NOT the TERMINATOR THREAD! Thank you! --Robb
  11. Same. And now that is lost in our 'dumbed down' sue-happy American society. If you don't stand on the dot, and a train hits you, it is now somehow the parks fault for your stupid action. It's really sad that we have come to this. Yes, apparently ghost007jas would blame the driver because there wasn't an adequate fence around the car. ghost007jas, having read through all your comments, honestly I can see your point, and don't take this the wrong way, but it does read a bit "immature." I don't think you can fully understand until you are a parent yourself. I also think your comments towards Elissa are a little unfair considering she IS a parent and you are not, and I don't think you can fully appreciate or understand her perspective. Jake, my advice to you is this... *LISTEN* to the other people posting in this thread instead of just instantly being combative. Most of them have 10+ years of life experience ahead of you and many are also parents. LISTEN to what they have to say and try to understand because they have a difference perspective on things having that additional life experience that you do not. --Robb "Personally, I blame Kathy Fackler for all this..." Alvey
  12. "Worst Amusment Park Experinces" THREAD CLOSED! Why? If you can't spell 50% of the words right in your thread title, DON'T START THEM!!! --Robb
  13. Your assessment is absolutely correct. I actually struggled with this quite a bit. The footage disc on Vol 12 is the longest "pure coaster" footage disc I've ever put together. And even I think it's a bit long to watch in one sitting. There were just SO MANY coasters from those trips and most of them (in fact I think almost ALL of them) had never been featured on a Coaster Expedition DVD before. What I struggled with is that quite a few of them are either similar or not of very good quality rides. But I realized that if I didn't put them on this disc, then I doubt they would have ever been put on any other disc in the future as I can't think of a DVD we would realize that would randomly include some crappy Chinese loop-screw. So I opted to make the disc a bit longer than usual and throw every bit of coaster footage I had on there! That's how it go to be what it is. --Robb
  14. ^ And I wish other parts of the world could be like that so we can have more awesome rides like these!
  15. No. Not AT ALL! I never understood this mentality of "A wood coaster should be so rough that it kicks your ass!" I don't know about other people, but I go on roller coasters to be thrilled and have fun, not get the crap kicked out of me! Maybe it's just me, but I like rides where I can throw my arms up in the air, let loose and have fun, not rides that I have to ride defensively and hang on for dear life. That kind of ride...just isn't fun to me. And seeing how low the ridership was on Psyclone in the past 10 years, it would seem like the public majority agrees. Ironically enough I would hear people get off Deja Vu and go "Wanna ride Psyclone?" "No way man, that thing beats you up..." --Robb
  16. Yeah, they updated the website! See, yet another example of parks actually DO read and respond to what is written in these forums! They don't always post here, but they DO read and react. --Robb
  17. I got the following email from Six Flags Great America regarding the height restriction: Glad they are reading the forums and responded! --Robb
  18. Yes there are! And ERT schedules are starting to roll in for the Texas Trip and I will have an announcement about that soon! All I will say is, it's looking like we will have ERT at EVERY major park on that trip! --Robb
  19. ^ It's ok...you can come to Alton Towers with us next year! --Robb
  20. Did you watch the video? I pretty much say the same thing about 1/2 way through it. --Robb
  21. OK everyone, I have posted the update for the insane Spanish fair where the Death Shuttle comes from. Be prepared for some pretty crazy stuff: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=487&linkid=5998 Post comments! --Robb
  22. Am I the only one who sees "Pepsi Throwback" and reads it as "Pepsi Throwup?" --Robb "The only good Pepsi is no Pepsi." Alvey
  23. I play A B'oy and his B'lob. --Robb
  24. It's #26 on the map "Coming Soon" Agreed. It's actually a decent commercial but plays like "You already know we are a park, so now we are introducing you to our new looping coaster." I think they may be underestimating that most people have a clue as to what's going on. Everyone here at TPR knows the story...the WHOLE story. 99% of the people seeing those commerical are the same type of people who still think that Magic Mountain is closed. Also agree. The B&M is not a "family friendly" ride. Unless of course everyone in your family is over the age of 10 years old. And Joey is 100% right. It lacks ANY information about what FSMP even is! I think it's a good commercial for *US*, but we aren't the target market. It fails on so many levels, even though creatively, it's decent. --Robb
  25. Wow! Great pictures! I love this kind of stuff.
