  1. Just got a call from some people who witnessed that Terminator successfully tested tonight! Congrats guys! I should be able to get some testing video this weekend. They will only be able to test at night so it might be kind of hard to get some good shots. Just wanted to pass this long! --Robb
  2. ^ Hmm...you're right. Looking into it.
  3. Hey everyone! East Coast Trip Updates are finally here!!! I've posted our first three parks - Sesame Place - Including a BRAND NEW TPR VIDEO!!! Coney Island including a Cyclone POV! Six Flags New England with LOTS of Superman and a Tyler Video! Click the links above to see the full updates! More to come very soon! Enjoy! --Robb
  4. You really need to get off this "It's not the parents fault" kick. Seriously, there are so many things wrong with what you just said, but I don't think you will ever quite understand because YOU ARE NOT A PARENT OF A TWO YEAR OLD. I, on the other hand, AM A PARENT OF A TWO YEAR OLD and I can tell you that your made up situation, is totally ridiculous. --Robb
  5. While I don't really think TPR is the place you'll end up finding your holy grail of Nintendo DS systems, there also isn't any reason why it can't be posted here. Good luck on finding it! --Robb
  6. Actually, I think I just found another photos which backs up what I'm thinking.... It's hard to see in this picture, because it's a bit far away and some things are out of the shot. My guess is that the red arrow points to where you enter/exit the bouncy castle. And the circle is the fence the kid got around. It would seem to be that if a kid was able to run out of one ride, around or through another ride's fence, and then into the area of the coaster, and as the ride operator reported, there was STILL no parents around? What happened to them? Also, in this shot it would appear that the end of the fence, closest to the coaster is turned to openly expose the coaster. We don't know if this was NOT the case when the fair was opened and the fence is open in this picture because emergency workers needed to get into that area, etc.
  7. It's impossible to tell because none of us can see an overview shot, but I'm assuming that, if that IS the now-deflated bouncy castle that the side you are seeing which is next to the coaster is the SIDE of the bouncy castle. The side in which is an area not accessible to guests. I would assume that the FRONT of the castle faced the same direction as the front of the coaster, and there was probably a fence there just as there is shown on the coaster. I'm guessing what happened here is that the kid walked out of the bouncy castle, went over to the coaster and probably squeezed through the bars or a break in whatever fence is there, but we can't see in this picture. In all of the reports "officials" (hoping that meant police officers) reported there WAS in fact a fence, and I don't see what good it would do to anyone if a third party "official" or witness was to lie about such a thing. And regardless, this goes back to the arguement of "why do we even need a fence if someone was actually WATCHING their kid in the first place." I don't think we should keep bringing up the fence. The fence or lack of fence is not at fault here.... --Robb
  8. There are a few things I have on my "back burned" as far as DVD and video releases goes. A "Theme Parks in the RAW" type of DVD is absolutely on there, but I think we may see a "Dark Rides of the World" DVD happen first. There is also the TPR Video Podcast or I should say "TPR TV!" ...which is in the planning phase...we'll see if that ever gets off the ground! --Robb
  9. Well said, Matt. freestylenut, you have no idea of the history we have of this poster do you? Do you realize how many times we warned him? How many threads we either edited or closed? No. Of course not. Why don't you leave the moderating up to the...wait for it...MODERATORS! Oh yay! That's what THEY are here for. You can worry about the theme parks, roller coasters, and FUN. That is what YOU are here for, right? Trust US, the admins and moderators to worry about the trouble posters. That's all I ask...TRUST US. You worry about the fun, we'll worry about the trouble. It's an easy request and it keeps everyone happy! We, the admins and moderators aren't "mean people", and if you see something you *think* may be taken as such, please try to understand that there is probably some history behind those comments and the comments were just deserved. --Robb
  10. Yeah, I know for a fact that was not correct information.
  11. ^ Yes. We do GCI's IAAPA video and last year we contributed some stuff to S&S, made a sales video for Vekoma, and I have a bunch of footage I'm about to send off to Intamin. --Robb
  12. ^ The ride has always jackhammered, but the sign has been butter smooth for years.
  13. Where do I send the money, hot chicks, flowers, and candy?
  14. Hey southpuddle... Have a look at the picture below... Here is the group of 100 TPR members we brought to Cedar Point in 2007. How many "500lb+ coaster enthusiasts" do you see in this picture? Seriously, I don't get offended by much, but I think your comment is *WAY* off base and personally I think you owe TPR an apology. If you really think TPR is full of "500lb+ coaster enthusiasts" you need to find a different website, dude. --Robb "Not putting up with that kind of attitude here...I hope other TPR members can respect my stance to defend them!" Alvey
  15. And I totally get that and respect everyone's opinion.... but what I don't respect is a park employee telling me he gets better rides on a coaster because he's not a 500lb lard ass like everyone else. I respect everyone's opinion as long as they respect mine and don't try to shove any kind of "made up facts" on me that they have just pulled from their behind because someone else doesn't share the same opinion they do. That's lame....and rude. Sorry cedar point dude, you are NOT better than everyone else because you worked at Cedar Point and you got 300+ rides on Magnum. I got 200+ rides on Splash Mountain when I worked at Disneyland. Do I think I'm better than anyone else? No. So cut out that egotistical attitude. It don't fly here on TPR. --Robb
  16. ^ No, I totally get that...I'm just saying it sucks that's all!
  17. Here is a quote from the article: Here is what I take away from it: - He wasn't supervised while he was in the bouncy castle enough for him to exit one ride and run towards another. - There WAS some kind of barrier around the Go Gator, but still he managed to get around it. Now, I know for example KidTums is FAST, but if there is a fence she nees to get around, there is always going to be a short delay where she'll look at said obstacle, assess the situation, and make an attempt. I do not believe this kid just got 'right through' the obstacle. - As stated above the RIDE OPERATOR saw him and tried to do something. (Not the parent) - A statement was made saying that no parent was with him. So, WHERE WERE THE PARENTS? I find it disturbing that this story made the front section of AOL this morning with the title of "Roller Coaster Death" and I think it is so unfair to the amusement and theme park indsutry to be labeled as such. This is CEARLY an example of bad parenting and I just have a feeling the parents are going to come out totally clean in all this. I want to feel bad for the parents, but I just can't. They SHOULD have been watching their child! That's what they SHOULD have been doing. I can't feel terrible or have sympathy for anyone who is this stupid and causes something like this to happen. They, IMO, basically "killed their kid" by not paying attention and the story is labeled as "Roller Coaster Death." It should be labeled "Stupid parents cause their two year old's death." The "roller coaster" shouldn't be at fault. Doesn't this seem wrong to anyone else? --Robb "I feel terrible about the situation, but not the family...they should have been paying attention!" Alvey EDIT - another article with a picture. Here's a quote: Clearly there is a fence. I ask again...where were the parents?
  18. LMAO! I always love it when people tell me stuff like this... "Well, in order to get the REAL experience you need to ride it at a certain time of day, in a certain seat, when the moon is out, and a witch doctor has cast a spell on the train..." C'MON! GIVE ME A F**KING BREAK! If the ride only delivers said "amazing airtime" when the stars are aligned properly that IMO is a MAJOR FAIL on the part of the ride and how it was designed. I've actually been on every one of those coasters, Robb... Maybe it's the fact that I'm not your average 500lb+ coaster enthusiast and my body type lends itself to getting airtime on Magnum, So you're saying that everyone here who doesn't like Magnum as much as you do is a fat, slobbering 500lb coaster enthusiast? Are you kidding me? How rude. But very typical of the attitude I've seen from many Cedar Fair employees. I don't weigh ANYWHERE near what you are suggesting I weigh and I get plenty of OMFG airtime on: El Toro, Phoenix, Superman, Boulder Dash, but I don't on Magnum. Perhaps you can explain that to me? Or maybe I just need those magical witch doctor full moon stars aligned Magnum rides that only happen to come on certain nights that only YOU and a few others know about. --Robb "This thread makes my 500 pounds of giggley fat wiggle!" Alvey
  19. The trains JUST got put on the track, what, yesterday? I would imagine that we may see something in the next day or two. --Robb
  20. I'm with you on this. The ride does nothing for me. It has some of the most penis-smashing seats I've ever encountered and the airtime is not all that. And the turnaround is one of the most horrible coat hanger bending elements I've ever seen. I've given the ride several chances all over the train and have been thoroughly disappointed each and every time. Same. I would much rather ride.... Blue Streak Cedar Creek Mine Ride Corkscrew Disaster Transport Gemini Mantis Maverick Millennium Force Raptor Top Thrill Dragster Wicked Twister Wildcat Woodstock Express ...over Magnum. I honestly think it's one of the worst coasters in the park, mainly due to all the hype it's gotten over the years. Had it not been SO hyped up for SO long and appear on SO many top ten lists, I'd probably like it better. But I have *WAY* more fun on Gemini than I ever had on Magnum. This is what I don't "get" about Magnum. Where is this MY GOD the airtime? Sure it has some little pops going over those bunny hills, but it is NOTHING extreme and NOTHING that makes me go "MY GOD THE AIRTIME!" Have you been on coasters like El Toro, Superman: Ride of Steel, Boulder Dash, Phoenix? THOSE rides make me go "MY GOD THE AIRTIME!" Magnum? I don't think so. --Robb
