Right. But this happens IN THE STATION. My whole point is that I cannot think of another park or have witnessed any other park that forces you to put all your stuff into a locker BEFORE YOU GET IN LINE. There are many parks that make you empty your pockets right before you get on a ride. But I have yet to experience at any other park except for Universal that makes you empty your pockets and go through a metal detector BEFORE YOU GET IN LINE.

Six Flags Great Adventure does. They have people standing in front of the queue preventing guests from even getting in the queue if they have anything in their pockets, and they also have security pull people back out of line if they sneak a phone through that checkpoint and have a phone out in the queue. I personally witnessed this happen in the queue for El Toro; the guest was pulled out of line, told to go to the kiosk, put their phone in a fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo, and re-enter the queue at the very beginning again. Bonus: The park actually charges guests to use that fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo. I rode El Toro last year and this never happened. If that is new this year then that's equally as stupid as Universal's policy and that would unfortunately cause me to ride El Toro less frequently.

Yeah, ok, wow... you COMPLETELY TOTALLY MISSED what I said... That is totally different from having to empty your pockets right before you board a ride. Several parks do this. Although I've been to Hansa Park many many times and I don't remember having to take my phone out of my pocket to ride, even on Karnan. But even if you did, my point is still remains... I cannot think of a single park in the world (and I've been to most of them) that MAKES YOU take EVERYTHING out of your pockets BEFORE getting in line for a ride and makes you walk through a metal detector to even get in line.

Here is my issue with them: - The fact that if there is a long line (and I've often seen Hulk or Rockit with a 45 minute line) you can't bring your phone in line with you to pre-occupy yourself with! Name another park in the entire world that does this. I'll bet you can't. You know why? BECAUSE IT'S STUPID!!! That's why! - While the systems are either fingerprint or scan a ticket, the fact that you usually have to wait in line while some idiot in front of you can't figure out how to use the damn system to actually get to the kiosk to rent a locker is so annoying. - Oh, and not only do you have to wait in that annoying line behind that idiot to rent the locker, you have to do it AGAIN to re-open the locker while when it's done. - So yeah, in order to ride Hulk you have to stand in THREE LINES. 1. A line to put your crap away. 2. The line for the ride. 3. A line to get your crap back. - Half of the time, even when I have NOTHING AT ALL in my pocket and the metal detector didn't go off, I still get wanded. Why. WHY!?!?!? Does Universal know how infuriating this is? I'm just trying to get on an amusement park ride. Bottom line is this: I don't want to go on attractions where it is a frustrating hassle and they treat me like a criminal just to get on a damn ride. You know, I probably would have been "okay" with them too. But they didn't and now they are gone, and it's still annoying af to get on Hulk and Rockit.

Sesame Place Discussion Thread

Legoland is a bit different though. Lego produces products for all ages including adults. Sesame Street's core and really only demographic is smaller kids. From the Wikipedia article: -

SESAME PLACE® UNVEILS PLANS FOR FIRST WOODEN COASTER One of the Largest New Attractions in Park History to debut Spring 2018 Langhorne, PA (September 20, 2017) –Sesame Place®, the nation’s only theme park based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street®, announced today its first wooden-steel hybrid coaster - Oscar’s Wacky TaxiTM - debuting Spring 2018. The new coaster is one of the largest new attractions in the park’s 37-year history and will feature a bright yellow, taxi cab-inspired train with everyone’s favorite grouch at the helm. The new coaster, combining both wood and steel elements to create a smooth ride, will give pint-sized thrill-seekers and their families the opportunity to experience another exciting first at Sesame Place. Oscar’s Wacky TaxiTM will send riders soaring down an exhilarating first drop of 40 feet, traveling over 1,200 feet of track with exciting twists, turns, and plenty of airtime hills -- sure to delight even the grouchiest of riders. A 40” rider height requirement (with a supervising companion) or 46” height requirement for single riders will make this the perfect first coaster for many park guests. Oscar’s Wacky Taxi™ will join Super Grover’s Vapor Trail® as the second roller coaster at the park. Super Grover’s Vapor Trail, which opened in 1998 as the park’s first mechanical ride, is celebrating its 20th birthday in 2018. The 14-acre park also features two popular themed lands – Elmo’s World which opened in 2006 and Cookie’s Monster Land which opened in 2014. A total of eleven dry rides, nine water attractions, five interactive play elements, the Sesame Street Neighborhood, three live daily character shows and The Neighborhood Street Party Parade bring the joy of everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends to families. “Oscar’s Wacky Taxi™ will bring a whole new level of excitement to Sesame Place in 2018,” said Bob Caruso, park president. “We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our guest experience, and our first wooden roller coaster is an exciting and thrilling addition to the park.” EDIT: I confirmed with the park - This is a Gravity Group coaster. -
For longer trip reports it's totally fine to do either. If you want to create your own thread about it, I think that's perfectly ok. For smaller trip reports, probably less than 20 photos I'd say probably just do it in the discussion thread. That being said, I may go move your report out in it's own thread so it gets a bit more attention.

SFMM Fright Fest 2017 Media Preview
robbalvey replied to fatdaddy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Probably because DC Comics/Warner Brothers are located in Burbank and they want to protect the brand. Easy for them to visit SFMM to ensure it meets their quality standards. Bonnie also worked for Warner Brothers before coming back to SFMM.... Yeah this could be a "test" or proof of concept for they roll it out to other parks next year. -

Even if you don't have a 4K screen, the source material being in 4K should look better than most other videos. -

Posted a really nice 4K POV of Twister at Knoebels! -
Hypocrite? You mean like how it wasn't ok for me to casually post an explanation directed at a handful of people buried within a topic in our forums of why we didn't want people posting their content here but it was totally acceptable for them to make a video on the front page of their Facebook, post pictures on Twitter & Instagram and invite tons of harassment comments obviously stirring up drama for his benefit? And then following it up with even more passive aggressive drama the next day? That's what you mean by hypocrite, right? Don't worry. I'm sure we've blocked MANY more of their followers. And we don't NEED those followers because we have plenty. You're in good company here. EDIT: I'm most certainly confused by all of this. Today he posted a video showing the "proof" that he didn't bad mouth us while at Fun Spot, but at around the 3:30 mark you can clearly hear him making unsolicited disparaging comments about TPR. The proof he posted was that I wasn't making that story up and he *actually did* make negative comments about us during what should have been a professional environment. You also hear on the video that neither our staff member or anyone else made anything but positive comments and Dan was the only one saying anything unfavorable. I'm not exactly sure why we have been painted as the "bad guys" in this whole scenario, but whatever, let him have his fun...

Of course he is... He'll probably get more attention out of a post mentioning TPR than most of his videos. So, to RollerManDan... Oh look, I was right... His most viewed video in OVER A YEAR! Tell me again how this wasn't about attracting attention through creating drama, Dan. You know you could have just NOT needed to "address" it, but we know this was all about you using TPR to get attention for your page. You can fool your readers all you want, but you and I both know exactly what this is about, don't we Dan? Glad we could help you with your page views!
