  1. It's not biased towards Disney, it's just the truth. As someone who lives in Orlando and lives & breathes the market here, all one has to do is take a walk around Universal, SeaWorld, or any of the other parks that aren't Disney and notice just how many people are still wearing their Disney MagicBands to those parks (because it's also their resort room key) and it's fairly obvious just how many people are in town for Disney, and going to other attractions also. I'm not being negative against any other Orlando attractions, it's just the way things are here.
  2. They don't care. They don't care at all? Weird. Out of all people being over protective of their ground, I'd think Disney would be the first. This really isn't anywhere near Disney property and like I said in an earlier post, Disney knows that people come to Orland for Disney and THEN go and do other attractions on their extra days. (Yes, I'm aware that some people DO come for Universal, but it's just not as many people at Universal would like to believe.) In short, Disney simply isn't threatened by this project, or any other project in Orlando. Universal is. So they are the ones putting up the fight.
  3. I'll put this in the main forum so maybe our SoCal locals can respond.
  4. Here is a new video of the actual rides and layout that will go into Skyplex. The video before was just a demo of the "combo tower" and was more generic. Please SUPPORT this project by click here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/skyplex and submitting the form. It should take about 60 seconds. EASY!
  5. So CAH sold absolutely nothing and made $71k. I think these guys are absolutely brilliant and I will support anything they do, even if it's nothing!
  6. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Tumblr, etc... We all use them, but some of us in very different ways. Do you post content? "LIKE" content? Share, re-tweet, etc... We would love to know which social media apps you use the most. Please rank them (and include all the apps you use, not just the ones we list above.) We would also like to know HOW you use them. Are you a lurker, contributor, responder? This is all very helpful for TPR moving forward. Thank you! --Robb
  7. ^ Would love to see a TR!
  8. While not a theme park deal, this is absolutely the best Black Friday deal in the history of Black Friday's: https://store.cardsagainsthumanity.com/
  9. It's a lot more "work" that people think. Yes, it's fun work, but it is still a lot of hard work.
  10. ^ I believe so, yes. That footage was actually supplied by the park though. We didn't shoot that.
  11. ^ Another reason why we outsource this kind of photography. We don't have to worry about any of the proper licenses as that is taken care of by the companies or individuals we hire. All we have to worry about is making sure we have permission from the park, but the only times we've used drones is when we've been hired to do B-Roll shoots for parks or ride companies.
  12. Nothing. If there isn't any staff to alert you just have to take solace that you're the better person and hopefully will be rewarded later on in life for not being a terrible human.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Here's a backseat POV of The Voyage at Holiday World!
  14. While we appreciate the offer, the reality is that even if someone else were to volunteer to help, it would still require bandwidth from us that we just don't have right now (you would be surprised how much work is was for us on the back end even though someone else was coordinating on the front) and even with a new volunteer we could still have someone who flakes or other unpredictable issues like that which arose every single year we did it. It's unfortunate, but yes, a few people who started the drama made enough of it to where we decided we just couldn't do it this year, sorry.
  15. After having to remove some "I'm above the rules no matter what you say" obnoxious posts by some people who have now found themselves banned from this forum (and we thank you for weeding yourselves out, hopefully your obnoxious attitude will also weed you out of some parks and the rest of us will never have to deal with you either) I will simply not tolerate people who cannot understand basic rules of visiting a theme park. I don't care if you're an annual passholder, a DVC member, a senior executive of some company, or whatever superstar you think makes you more entitled than the next person. The rules apply to EVERYONE! When it comes to line lumping, the rules are very clear... If you leave the line and come back, FOR ANY REASON, you are line jumping. If you are trying to justify your reason for doing it, you're just making excuses. I don't think I can make it any clearer than that.
  16. Really? The 10 or maybe 15 minutes you might wait in the FastPass line is a huge issue for you? Wow, sometimes people just shock me with the things they think are "problems." SMH
  17. Oh, and one more thing. If you're at Disney parks in August, WHY ARE YOU EVEN STANDING IN A LINE?!?!?! Don't you know there is plenty of ways to get FastPass+ and other tips and hints to avoid standing in long lines with your kids? Seriously, if you're telling me that you're standing in long lines out in the heat with your kids in August then your problems are MUCH bigger than figuring out how to take your kids to the bathroom.
  18. But this is why what you are doing is totally unacceptable. When you go and ask people behind you if you can leave and come back, you are now BURDENING OTHER PEOPLE WITH YOUR PROBLEMS!!!! And that's totally unfair to the strangers around you in line. Now someone else is required to make a judgement call on the thing you want to do, and based on what they say, perhaps could end up in some sort of altercation they might want to avoid. All because of YOU! Of course outloud they are going to say "sure" because that's a lot easier than saying "Really, dude? REALLY?!?!?! You really think you're above the rules and entitled to leave and come back whenever you want with your kid???? And you think that's ok? Ugh... Sure... Take your stupid kid to the bathroom. Go. And maybe next time, try not bothering me about it or try taking your kid before you get in line, or maybe pal, here's an idea, deal with your problem and go BACK to the end of the line like a respectable human should." Because that is what is really going through people's heads. That's great. You're welcome to disagree with me. But you're also wrong. No two ways about it. And if you were in line in front of me and wanted to take your kid and and come back. Damn right I'd tell you no and damn right I'd alert a cast member if you tried to come back. And here is the policy to back me up on that: If you leave the line, you have LEFT THE LINE. Sorry, but you shouldn't be allowed back in regardless of who you've bothered behind you to get "permission" or whatever. I get it. Going to parks with kids is not easy. But be the responsible adult and a good role model. You are just teaching your kid that it's "ok" to be above the rules, be irresponsible and do whatever the hell you want to, regardless of who you have to bother around you in the process. And that is not right.
  19. I absolutely disagree. As a parent with a kid who frequents theme parks we always ask her if she needs to go to the bathroom before getting in a line. If she does, we take her. Sometimes Elissa would take her anyway just in case. If for any reason she had to go so badly that she couldn't hold it until the end of the line, we would get out of line and then get back in line again AT THE END OF THE LINE. Because that's how it's supposed to be done. Tell me what lesson you are teaching your child by showing them it's "ok" to leave a line and come back? Explain to me how that's a good life lesson. It's not. And it's unacceptable. PERIOD!!!
  20. What?!?!? It would NEVER take "an hour or more" to get to Fun Spot! Worst case scenario if there is traffic on I-4, you can either take Turkey Lake Rd or Apopka Vineline to Sand Lake and then a left on I-Drive. At the MOST it may take you like 30-35 minutes during peak times to get from the farthest point of Disney property to Fun Spot. There are so many different ways to get around Orlando when there is traffic that if it took you "an hour or more" to get from Disney to Fun Spot, you have made some serious wrong turns!
  21. ^ How often or when did you go? Because other than maybe Brazillian tourist season, I actually don't see a lot of line jumping at WDW at all, and we are there 2-3 times a week.
  22. Maybe because you weren't clear on why you were asking? Don't be coming down on the rest of us when it's your fault you were clear in your original post. And really, who's attacking you????
  23. ^ Funny you mention it because Brandy is one of the people who created drama for us, but let's just leave it at that. Water under the bridge that's thankfully been swept away...
  24. I walked by it and I honestly thought it looked kind of lame. I saw lots of kiddie rides at the show and just didn't feel like it stood out enough as something we would feature. Honestly, the guys at Skyline have made some of the highest rated roller coasters in the world. I'm anxiously awaiting for them to show us something that really stands out. So far, I feel like we haven't seen it from this company. They've made several rides that serve a certain market, sure, and hopefully they are successful with them, but nothing I've seen that is really noteworthy beyond what companies like Zamperla does with some of their kiddie rides. The Zamperla "hangliding" family ride with the kite mechanism that controlled how high you went based on wind (kind of like a vertical flying scooter) THAT was a cool kiddie ride. Crazy Couch? Not so much.
