Actually, "Technical rehearsal" sounds better than "The ride isn't officially open so we don't have any obligation to open it for you whatsoever, but we're being generous enough to open it on days that we can do some tweak & adjust, which we could probably do with water dummies or empty trains, but we are trying to get as many people on the ride as possible, so stop being ungrateful." Except for about a week it was actually"open" then the recall and it went back into tech rehearsal. Pardon me for trying to logic and reason to explain something. I forgot that quite a few contributors to this thread and shown that they are not smart enough to understand that. -

Pokemon GO at Theme Parks!
robbalvey replied to Peeps28's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I fail to see how this is a bad thing. So parks are taking advantage of the game and encouraging people to go outside, come to the parks, walk around and have fun in addition to riding coasters and stuff? I'm sorry but anyone who thinks this is not good for parks or for humanity is a complete moron. All I ask is that people play safe, follow the rules, and don't do stupid crap. But we didn't need Pokemon Go for this to be an issue. -
OK I lied...here is a BONUS REPORT!!! and yes, it's sort of theme park related!!! Today we did a "day trip" to Venice. Yes, that's sort of crazy, but Kristen had never seen Venice before and it's such a fascinating town that only be an hour away from it by plane was something we decided to do. So here's our whirlwind trip to one of the coolest cities in Europe! In Italy, at the airport here are some options for breakfast. It's all wonderful! America, you're doing it wrong! I think @ElissaAlvey just found her personal heaven... And this is at the freakin' AIRPORT! lol Getting ready to board our plane! Kristen just checking out this cool & unique view in Venice! Venice is a city with boats as main source of transportation. No cars. Such a unique and very European place! My current view of #Venice! The waterways are very pretty and very unique! Great city! Painting Venetian masks in #Venice, of course! OMG! Now THAT is a caprese salad! "Some of the best cheese I've ever had!"-Elissa Alvey Another positive about #Venice? The food is ridiculously good! The owner of the Pizzeria gave us this mandarin liquor and it was heavenly! Hey look! We are at Epcot at Walt Disney World! Wait, no... We're in actual Venice! Venice from the top of the tower in St. Mark's Square! Fantastic! WDW Venice on top, the real Venice on the bottom. They honestly did a pretty good job at Epcot! [twitter] [/twitter] Visiting the world famous Signoretti glass factory in #Venice! In #Venice, this is the "highway" you take getting to the airport. There are no roads! Yet another Italy trip where we did't find "Beverly" anywhere at all. Thinking it's a joke @CocaCola plays on us! Taking off from #Venice #Italy! What a great final city to visit on our Europe trip!

So following our departure from Kolmarden and Sweden, we escaped for a week on a Cruise that left from Rome but visiting four ports in Greece. This was all Kristen's idea as she had been learning about Greek mythology in school and wanted to check it out for herself. Upon returning to Rome we did some sightseeing and then spent a day working with Rainbow Magicland and Cinecitta World to do some filming at both parks. It was a whirlwind quick visit to those parks, but still very fun! We will close out this trip report with a few cruise photos (Honestly didn't take THAT many pics as the cruise was a legit vacation away from our last vacation...which was mostly work) and some photos from the two Italy parks... Excited to make #JewelOfTheSeas our home for the next 7 days! Love this glass window looking straight down 11 decks! Teaching Kristen how to play pool on @RoyalCaribbean #JewelofTheSeas self-leveling pool table! I absolutely cannot complain about the view from my office today! Sunset and more fun in Santorini! Seeing what's left of #Athens history today. It's not much... What I learned today: "Even the ancient Greeks had a penis fetish & were into amputee porn!" #MuseumsAreAwesome For the last two days we've been visiting "Ancient Greece" and maybe it's that we are just jaded from all our travels but I found most of it to be about as interesting as "a pile of rocks." Especially compared to other major historical places we've been: The Colosseum, Great Wall of China, Mexican pyramids, etc, even Stonehenge which is literally another "pile of rocks" but those places just had something actual to see and looked like how you would image them to be. I get that these Greek places are older and there has been more damage, but there really isn't a lot to see and I'm not sure I could recommend it to be a place to put high on the priority list of things in the world to go see. I guess you could say I was pretty unimpressed. It's like seeing real-life #TokyoDisney Mount Prometheus next to our @RoyalCaribbean #JewelOfTheSeas! Ain't it a laugh? Ain't it a treat? Hobnobbin here Among the elite? Hanging out in #Rome today. Much more to see here than in Greece! So we totally just listened to #PopeFrancis speak in VaticanCity and we didn't instantly burst into flames! lol Religion achievement unlocked! This fills our "Jesus quota" for at least the next decade, right? Our favorite reason for coming to Italy? #Pizza! Visited historical sites in Italy & Greece back-to-back. Sorry, Greece you were nice, but I prefer Italy! As someone who is fairly uninterested in "historical stuff" in the world, it was actually interesting to me to compare Italy & Greece back-to-back. I get that it's different time periods and different set of circumstances but Italy wins out in every way. It was also nice to see all the restoration projects going on in Rome. While the Colosseum, for example, may not be 100% original, they do a good job of telling you which parts were original and what has been rebuilt. I think I would have appreciated Greece a bit more had they rebuilt a lot of their history instead of leaving it as a pile of disgusting rubble. But it was also pretty clear to me even after only a few days that as a country, Greece is a complete mess while Italy at least seems to have some of their shit together. Anyway, just my thoughts on things. Other people may not agree with me, but I also really don't care. ps. And no I'm not biased because I'm Italian, I'm actually not even that big of a fan of Italy either, other than their pizza which kicks a lot of ass! Today we caught a #Pokemon at the Colosseum in #Rome! Hows that for a cool #PokemonGo location? We are here before the park opens to do some filming at Rainbow Magicland! Beautiful birds eye view from the Flying Island ride! Shock is sort of like the Italian version of Rip Ride Rockit, but with an awesome launch! To be honest, I prefer this ride. There's not much to see at Cagliostro because it's an indoor spinning coaster in the dark! Huntik is a super funky shooting dark ride that mixes live sets, 3D screens & motion based vehicles! Something here for the kids... Winx Club dark ride is based around fairies and things! Keeping cool on a very hot day in #Italy! Did some filming on Shock this morning and we had our best actresses for the ride! Now you can experience pirates battling it out on flying ships in VR Rainbow Magicland's mine train coaster! The park is very nicely themed! Some great looking buildings here at the park. Just a few more pics of the park. [twitter] [/twitter] Fun day at Rainbow Magicland today! Should have some cool new video to share with you all soon! We have just arrived @cinecitta_world for more Italian park fun! Filming on this coaster should be fun! Darkmare @cinecitta_world was just awesome! Fantastic indoor Intamin coaster with a surprise! [twitter] [/twitter] It's not every day you see an Intamin tilting drop tower inside a giant elephant! Unless you live @cinecitta_world! The @mackridescom Super Splash @cinecitta_world was fantastic! Great airtime and the perfect amount of wetness! The look & feel of @cinecitta_world was very well done! And yes, they actually film movies & TV commercials here! This "Light Speed" indoor kids "Autopia" ride @cinecitta_world was really cool and Kristen loved it! Going through all this @cinecitta_world with only a lap bar is INSANE! Altair is a GREAT ride! We had a great visit to @cinecitta_world today! Looking forward to returning and exploring more of the park! And that wraps up our Europe trip! Thanks for following along! I'll post new videos as I add them to our YouTube channel! And now... POST YOUR COMMENTS! We'd love to hear your thoughts about all this craziness we did over the past 5 weeks! BONUS REPORT!!! We lied! We posted one more report Click the link above!

I'm just going to put it out there that I do not understand at all when someone travels across the world to go to parks and does NOT get the virtual queue option. BGT's Quick Queue starts at $21 which is *NOTHING* compared to the cost of your entire trip and that would have guaranteed you would have gotten 1 more ride on every single coaster in the park without waiting. I really hate hearing complaints like this because IMO if you flew across the planet and are complaining you could only get 1 ride on each coaster, you're doing it wrong. You shouldn't complain about things that are your own doing. Sorry, just my take on things.

The ability to make a YouTube video full screen.
robbalvey replied to FSUFanChris's topic in Ask Alvey
Yeah sorry. We have so many things going on right now and literally thousands of videos to produce that I just don't have the time for this. Not when it's something that has lived on our forum for *years* and you're the first person to mention it. I'm sorry we are unable to cater to *your* personal preferences we just have to choose to spend our time elsewhere. -

Hmmm... I never noticed this before. To be honest, you're the first person who has ever mentioned this, so I'm going to assume it's not a big deal for most people. I'm not sure it's worth us going in and changing BBCode to fix it. Can't you just click on "Watch On YouTube" and go to full screen there? -

I think it would be a lot less exciting than you are thinking. I'm thinking something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhDxuKuhL-s This is off-topic but I just have to point out how dumb this is: It annoys me when people don't understand how things like YouTube work. Your views count toward your channel regardless if it's watched on YouTube or embedded into another page, so why would anyone turn this option on? Ugh... I'm pointing this out just to help educate people a bit more... Don't be this guy! lol -

You're the first person I've seen report that and in every picture and video I've seen of the ride the boats were all full. So I think your situation may not be the norm. I have sat four to a row all the time on Maelstrom so I can't imagine that wouldn't be the same for Frozen. My ride its first week was similar to John's- they gave me an entire row to myself! Howeve this morning my sister says they are grouping like crazy- her standby wait at 11 AM was just 20 minutes (posted 60)! Maybe they had to get the employees back up to speed . Regardless, sounds like it's all good now! That's great to hear. I mean, anyone who has worked around a theme park knows there are growing pains when getting a new ride open. I don't understand people who rush out to ride something new and then bitch and moan about issues early on in a ride's life when they should know better. As an example, this is a the reason why we chose to head out to Shanghai Disney in December instead of going for opening. Let them work out all the kinks and other issues that you know they are going to have, and I'd rather go when I'll have a better experience thanks to them having time to figure out their operations. In short, when a ride opens, give them a break, complaining early on only makes you look like an ignorant theme park fan. /my two cents. -

You normally do have to scan your magic band to get into a morning EMH. It could very well have been that the system was down and they were having to go off the "honor system" that morning. It doesn't happen very often, but I've seen it before. Either way, yep, that's a total dick move and this person took advantage of the system. Not someone we want on our forums or representing us at parks. -
I honestly don't want to compare them. I mean it's up there... REALLY FAR UP THERE... but really I like all the RMC's almost the same. My favorites of the company are: Wildfire, Outlaw Run, Medusa, Wicked Cyclone, Texas Giant, probably not in that order, and I'm not sure I could rank them if you asked me to!

Wildfire Back Seat POV! Watch this!!! Look where we are at now! Photos do not do this ride justice. #Wildfire @Kolmarden We have been riding #Wildfire over and over this morning @Kolmarden. Holy crap this ride is just INSANE CRAZY!!! Another shot of the amazing #Wildfire @Kolmarden! [twitter] [/twitter] Kolmarden is more than just Wildfire! They have some amazing behind the scenes animal encounters! It was cool being able to get so close to the Tigers @Kolmarden! Awesome sign @Kolmarden Zoo! Very good advice, too! And just like with the Tigers, @Kolmarden has a cool behind the scenes tour for the lions, too! The Safari ride @Kolmarden was great! 25 min gondola ride over the Savannah! And they are gonna let us feed animals! The girls are dropping food down to the giraffes! Kristen is going throw some meat down to the lions... Although they already are eating an entire horse! Want some more awesome pics of #Wildfire @kolmarden? Here ya go! This ape is all "anyone got some children they want to throw my way?" We got to see some Marmosets @Kolmarden which is a really really small monkey! The gondola safari ride is a fantastic way to see all the animals! How's this for an awesome photo of #Wildfire? When Peter isn't making rides for Grona Lund or Kolmarden, apparently he sells boots! Time to get the kiddie coaster credit in the Bamses World area! There is also a dolphin themed Vekoma roller skater in the marine area. Plenty for kids to do @Kolmarden! A few shots from the Wildfire station. Great effort by @Kolmarden and the RMC trains are great! (Photos by Andy Hatzos) Checking out some other animal exhibits @Kolmarden Zoo. Yay! They have a "dolphins doing tricks" show @Kolmarden! For lunch, the owners of @Kolmarden took us to a hidden "lodge" within #Wildfire's structure! Awesome! Inside the lodge @Kolmarden are some photos of the Wildfire team, great views of the coaster, and of course beer! I was give a special #Wildfire "axe" that they only made for the team and those who helped with the ride! Thank you! Hanno took some awesome pics of #Wildfire! We ended up taking 26 rides on Wildfire during our morning and evening ride sessions! (Photos by Andy Hatzos) Hanno captures the "haritime" of Wildfire! Another awesome Hanno photo of #Wildfire! Would you believe this shot was taken at the start of our "evening" ERT? lol We did a total of 26 laps on #Wildfire today @Kolmarden! Each was just as good as the first! Hanno captures some more "hairtime" on #Wildfire @Kolmarden! Even Kristen ranked #WildFire @kolmardren as one of her favorite coasters in the world! She's been on hundreds! Kolmarden put together an amazing video sharing with you all my "review" of Wildfire!
