  1. FFS can you please just stop posting here? I want to punch the screen every time I read one of your posts. Seriously, no one really cares what you have to say. So maybe you can pack it up and try posting to another forum? Got it? Cool, thanks...
  2. I didn't see where any of this was our footage. If you're going to report a video in this thread, please make sure it is our footage, as it only wastes my time, and I might accidentally report something that shouldn't be reported. Thanks.
  3. Was out at Disney Springs today for some Morimoto Street Food & Gelato! I cannot say enough good things about these places. Please be sure to stop by and grab these wonderful "snacks" next time you're taking a stroll around Disney Springs. You will NOT be disappointed! Back @MorimotoAsia @DisneySprings today! One of our top favorite restaurants in #Orlando! Gonna try out some @MorimotoAsia "Street Food" today! Highly recommend this when visiting Disney Springs! It is unfair that there are so many good items @MorimotoAsia Street Food to have to choose from! #FirstWorldProblems Today's selection @MorimotoAsia? Amazing ribs, curry rice bowl, @crookedcan beer! Delicious! We found Chef Yuhi from @MorimotoAsia to thank him for his amazing Street Food! After lunch @MorimotoAsia time for some dessert at Vivoli Il Gelato! The gelato at Vivoli is made fresh daily! It's legit with Italian owners! That is the "real deal" Italian gelato! Chocolate & peanut butter! Amazing! Don't leave @DisneySprings without it!
  4. I realized I had some footage that I shot last summer that I never posted. Here's a Rebel Yell POV:
  5. Your assessment is 100% correct.
  6. Oh, they DID do something...and it was ABSOLUTELY F**KING HILARIOUS in the most pathetic way possible! LMAO It still makes me laugh to this day to think there were people insanely stupid enough to think they could have moved an entire roller coaster with some locals and their pick-up trucks! I would have LOVED to see a picture of what would have happened when they loaded an NAD train car into the back of a Toyota Tacoma! LOL www.savethebigdipper.com
  7. I actually have no idea what's causing it and not sure how to fix it. Sorry!
  8. Yes actually. When I said that the later years were my favorite incarnation of the park I actually meant these years as it was the last time I visited the park. When it was one HUGE Six Flags park, I actually thought that, given a few more years developing it, that property could give Cedar Point a run for it's money. But at that time, Six Flags was looking for immediate profits, which wasn't going to happen instantly, it would take a few years, and Cedar Fair wasn't about to let Six Flags come in and steal Cedar Point's thunder. I actually don't blame Cedar Fair for doing what they did. It was the smartest business decision to totally wipe out any potential competition. If I was in charge of Cedar Fair and I was watching Six Flags move in on my territory and had a chance to strike when they were slightly down, I would have done the exact same thing. Had Cedar Fair waited even just a little while longer to buy that park until the economy started turning around and maybe by then Six Flags wouldn't have been interested in selling, who knows what would have happened. But they were quick to react to Six Flags moving in on them and Six Flags all of a sudden at that time needed the money. All VERY smart business decisions. Not great for us theme park nerds, but fantastic for the bottom line. It's a shame. I would have liked to have seen what "Six Flags Worlds of Adventure" would have become ten years down the line. Oh, well...
  9. We actually were all a little bummed, to varying degrees, when it was announced that the park was closing. Especially seeing how much it had grown and I actually really liked the final incarnations of the park. But there were groups of people who took it to a whole other level. A level that would be impossible to register on any scale of rational thinking. It got to an absurd point and that's when we all started to have a bit of fun with it. We thought it was HILARIOUS!!! But there were some that didn't. And that made it even MORE HILARIOUS!!!!
  10. I'm not sure what you mean. It's a "pizza tour" not a "hot dog tour."
  11. I will try to answer the best I can but keep in mind when we do Scott's tour as a group, we usually do a private tour so it's a little different from his normal tour, BUT, we have done his normal tour as well, so.... This is correct. I think he *might* do 20 at the most, but I'm not sure his exact numbers. The idea of the pizza tour is to compare slices between each place to you stop. So you get 1 slice of cheese pizza to keep everything consistent at each pizzeria. *sometimes* depending on the nature of the tour and where you go, there might be something different that mixes it up (each tour seems to have a personality of it's own), but for the most part, sticking to the basics of the tour, it's one cheese slice per location visited. Some of the "slice shops" don't actually have indoor seating, or not enough to accommodate the tour group, so you go at it picnic style! It always has worked just fine like this. You're not really at a place long enough to probably enjoy a beer and again the nature of the tour isn't really about drinking. I'm sure if you have some extra time at one of the places you could probably order a beer on the side, but I don't think in any of the tours I've been on I've seen someone do this. Hope that helps!
  12. How did our personal trip report turn into a discussion about lobster rolls??? We don't even like lobster rolls!!!
  13. You know, I'm not sure why I didn't take any pics at Molly's this time around! Scott's tour is 2-3 hours.
  14. Just because *I* don't particularly think that Helix is as good as other people doesn't mean you should "take Liseberg off the list" especially when they have one of the best coasters in Europe! Balder. Or did you skip by that entirely. No one told you to take Liseberg off your list. You'd be missing out on one of the better parks in Europe.
  15. I really wish I could understand why people keep saying that Helix has "great inversions." I feel like it has the same style of inversion over and over and over and over again and really makes for a boring and repetitive experience. Aside from the forceless launches, that was probably my other big complaint about the ride. And while I know that not all of Helix's inversions are technically exactly the same, they all just *felt* really similar to each other and lacked good variety of inversions that a ride like Kumba does, for example. And Helix takes most of the inversions fairly slow. To the point where you almost feel like you're going to roll back while going through a couple of them. I actually felt that the inversions were one of the weakest elements of Helix.
  16. I really wish I understood this insane love for Helix. Helix is a "good" ride, but it is not a "benchmark" not even CLOSE. If you're looking for the most "insane" rides, meaning extreme rides that don't try to be extreme but end up pussying out right before they get extreme (Helix falls right into that category, IMO), then you need to check out: Expedition GeForce - Holiday Park Wildfire - Kolmarden Balder - Liseberg Nemesis - Alton Towers Dragon Khan - PortAventura Goliath - Walibi World iSpeed - Mirabilandia Katun - Mirabilandia Colossos - Heide Park Piraten - Djurs Sommerland Karnan - Hansa Park If you're looking for the "best park" in Europe (Which doesn't always mean they have the 'best coasters') I would look no further than Europa Park. You are not going to find many OMFG HOLYSHIT WHAT THE HELL roller coasters at Europa, but you'll find a wide selection of GREAT RIDES and one of the best park resorts in the world. and every single ride I listed there is light years better than Helix. I just don't understand how someone could go on a ride like Expedition GeForce, then Balder, then even Nemesis, and then ride Helix, which is in NOW WAY ANYWHERE NEAR AS FORCEFUL as those three rides and come away going "Wow, Helix tops those!" I seriously don't get it the hype for that ride. It's a "good' ride. But it does not live up to the hype.
  17. Unfortunately neither one of us eat seafood, so that wouldn't be an option for us. But would recommend to friends that do!
  18. We simply cannot tolerate any more of your insanely stupid posts. Banned for being one of the biggest idiots we've ever had on TPR.
  19. Our next stop will be spending a few days in New York City! Spoiler Alert! There are no "roller coasters" but we had a whole lot of fun hanging out in the city with friends! Back at Chef 28! One of our favorite restaurants in #NYC! Amazing Asian food! OMG!!! We just walked into @bakedbymelissa and Garbles was here!!! WTF???!!! It's like a zombie apocalypse nightmare come true! Making a stop at the original @shakeshack in Madison Square Park! #NYC Some of our group headed down to @LunaParkNYC tonight to ride the world famous @TheCyclone at Coney Island! #NYC (Ok I lied, there would be *ONE* roller coaster photo! lol) Today we are hanging with @scottspizzatour! Our absolute FAVORITE thing to do in #NYC! Our first stop @scottspizzatour was world famous Lombardi's Pizzeria in #NYC! Go here! It's amazing! Today we are going to learn all about the history of #pizza in #NYC thanks to @scottspizzatour! With @scottspizzatour we get "behind the scenes" of the best pizzerias in #NYC Scott explains the crazy world of the pizza industry! It's fascinating! Our next stop on @scottspizzatour was Fiore's in #NYC where we compared a cheese pie to pepperoni. Fiore's had some amazing #pizza options with a unique oven to cook them in! Scott is testing the heat temperature of my slice to make sure it won't burn the roof of my mouth! Tom fully approves of the "bonus slice" he had at Fiore's! Next #pizza stop was John's Pizzeria in #NYC to try a "sauce on top" pie. It was delicious! Now THAT is a damn good pizza! Our #RetroGaming friends may appreciate the #PacMan that Scott made out of this pie! Another amazing time with @scottspizzatour! We highly recommend it when #NYC! Wandering around #NewYorkCity tonight checking out some famous sights! Our evening in #NYC included steak @MJSteakHouseNYC and it was fantastic! #NYC @DisneyStore exclusive #TsumTsum! Times Square touristy photos? CHECK! Today for lunch we are going suck down some balls @MEATBALLERS! The boys loooooove balls! (Especially Garbles! Look how happy he is to have some balls!) Huge THANK YOU! Kristen loved the show! And that wraps up our trip to NYC and our USA trip this year! It was super fun! Thanks to everyone for following along!
  20. ^ All I know is that if I went into a restaurant and had an average meal and was still hungry when I left, I'd never go back, but hey, I always wonder how some mediocre places stay in business, and now I know!
  21. I would totally disagree. I think the ride does a lot of things, yes, but it doesn't do any one of those things REALLY WELL. It has a lot of parts, but none of those parts are impressive, IMO. Let's see.... - It has launches - but some of the weakest launches I've been on of any launched coaster. Seriously Kanonen has a better launch! - It has inversions - but they all feel the same and the lack of variety really disappoints me. - It has airtime - but so does Balder. in the same park. And it does it MUCH better. - It has fantastic atmosphere - Does it? I thought it was just "ok" - Sure it uses the terrain, but if you're not doing anything amazing on that terrain, what's the point? In fact, isn't most of the ride more up in the air and NOT close to the ground? I actually prefer Lisebergbanen's use of the terrain over Helix. I actually think it has one of the most INCOMPLETE packages of any roller coaster I've been on. Don't give me a coaster that does a lot of 'stuff', give me a coaster that does a lot of "AWESOME STUFF!" Just because you have a lot of items on your menu doesn't mean you're a good restaurant.
  22. To be honest, I actually find most of them to be pretty lame. In fact, Nitro might be the only one I truly "like a lot." I thought that Behemoth and Apollo are both "ok" as well, but I don't think I've been on any other one that's really blown me away or that I like as much as I like Nitro.
  23. Maybe... MAYBE... We can move Big Dipper to the wave pool and open it as the world's first "Wooden Water Coaster!!!" Huh? Huh??? How's THAT for an idea???? Yessssss!!! Let me go start a fund raising page, we'll get a bunch of people with hammers and pick up trucks and we'll get this done!!! It's a good idea, right? RIGHT???? http://savethebigdipper.com
  24. Thanks! There is most certainly a "talent" to using the chest mount correctly!
  25. I honestly didn't think Helix was much better than some of the rides we've seen in the USA lately. Seriously, just about every other Intamin or RMC coaster I've ridden is WAAAAY better than Helix. I'm not exactly sure why Helix gets the over-hype that it does. The launches were weak and every inversion felt the same to me. Yes it was a "fun" ride, but so is Gatekeeper, for example. But neither ride blew me away and made me go "HOLYFUCKINGSHIT THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST RIDES I'VE ***EVER*** ***EVER*** been on...." like I get when I ride things like: Maverick, Kawasemi, Wildfire, Kumba, Montu, Medusa, Texas Giant, Outlaw Run, iSpeed, Expedition GeForce, Goliath, Skyrush, Intimidator 305, Wicked Cyclone, El Toro, Balder etc, etc, etc.... The grass is not always greener, and while Helix might be green, I really really thought it was a "just slightly better than average" ride. I really don't understand the hype over it. It's not amazing.... at all.
