  1. Here's the list of parks I am currently planing on hitting this year: May -Cedar Point (can't wait to ride Maverick) June -SFKK (My first water coaster) -Holiday World (my first chance to ride some "good wood") -SFGAm If everything goes right it should be a great year for me!
  2. I've actually been thinking the same thing. Jobs are hard to come by up here in Detroit and I would love to live close to an amusement park. I think I'm starting to turn into a coaster junkie.
  3. Whenever I go the CP I always head straight for Magnum in the back of the park. In the am it is always a walk on as every one else heads strait for MF, Dragster, or now Maverick.
  4. Congrats on the new little one!! I never realized Elissa was this far along. -Red "I have my $5 ready" B
  5. Actually, from what I've seen of euro-fighters, they and Maverick are quite different. Besides the similar drop of course.
  6. The article was being used by other posters, so I referenced it. Some of you are touchy about this one. I personally hope MIA doesn't get it. A second hand impulse would not do anything to boost their attendance.
  7. ^ Plus that article said a coaster with a unique vertical drop for the area. Cedar point has wicked twister which is basically a larger version of Steel Venom, thus not unique. I do like the idea of a Euro Fighter going to MIA. Either way MIA is long overdue for a new coaster.
  8. Forget Pepsi vs Coke. I wish businesses would carry Faygo. Rock & Rye is the best!
  9. ^ I completely forgot about that one! Fits perfectly. TTD and Hulk are tied for the best in my book.
  10. Maybe Coke just gave those bigger parks better deals. We should do a poll to see where the preference of coaster enthusiasts on this site lie. All votes for coke don't count!
  11. ^ I went this past year and thought it was a nice park. The ride side tends to be dead (one of the reasons CF decided to get rid of 2 of the higher maintenance coasters) while the new water park is packed.
  12. ^ True anything is possible. However unless they could find a way to keep the park open year round I doubt it. I'm just tired of every debate about GL going back to the animals. I miss Seaworld too. But can we please stop talking about the past and start looking to the future of this park. That's what this thread was started for wasn't it?
  13. So what would be the potter version of "Live long and prosper"?
  14. ^ Don't believe I said any of that. CP and Disney are not comparable. I'm just saying this is a big change for CP and Cedar Fair in general after publicly saying before that they don't do theming and don't plan to. And I'm hoping that this change is a sign that they will start doing more things they used to not do, such as dark rides.
  15. I can only speak for Cedar Point and Geauga Lake and they don't. As for why they would start adding them now, it may just be wishful thinking. However they do seem to finally be off their record trip and adding theming (see Maverick) so who knows.
  16. Why have we let this get into another debate about the old animal side of the park? They're gone and never coming back. Get over it. Now back to GL improvements. Geauga Lake is in desperate need of one thing, flats. I would expect that to be their next new attraction. Getting rid of these coasters makes plenty of room for a good flat or two. However as stated earlier in this thread they could also put a decent dark ride in that spot. Would fit in nicely with their new 'family atmosphere' to. My question is what kind of flat or dark ride you would like to see. Right now I'm liking the idea of a Huss giant frisbee.
  17. The sad thing is your right
  18. ^ That was meant as a joke more than anything. I haven't been to Mythos (closed when i went) so I have no idea how well the theming of it could fit into this universe.
  19. ^^It would be hilarious! I doubt it. J.K.Rowling seems to be too invested in this. She has very specific ideas as to what this should be, if the rumors on Jimhillmedia are to be be believed.
  20. ^ If they go with the rumored Kuka's robotic arm based ride, they could possibly put it in Poseidon's place. Mythos could possibly be re-themed into the Great Hall. Imagine eating your meal while ghosts float overhead! And the waiters could be dressed like house-elves.
  21. I believe I was sent this way by a link from Screamscape. I started just looking through the videos but after looking at some of the fun happening in here I finally decided to join.
  22. ^^ Or you could try VLC. VLC Media Player It's like the swiss army knife of media players. It plays almost anything.
  23. If they do this right, this could end up being huge. IOA has been in some serious need of change and IMO this fits the bill nicely. But they have to go all out for this one. If they only go half way, it will probably fail.
  24. ^^ Do I spy theming under the heartline roll?
  25. ^^ Extensive is an understatement!! Nice find. This should keep me busy for a while.
