  1. Unfortunately for me, this park closed before I was old enough to go. Always wondered what it was like. Seems like everyone who ever went there had fond memories of it. It's a shame no one was able to step in and save it.
  2. I thought it was the 'Launch Lift'. Now I'm all confused.
  3. Would you even be able to complete the course without the raft? I can see people getting ran over by other rafts if they fell out. Still might be fun to try though
  4. The nets kind of take something out of the ride for me.
  5. Thanks for the help Elissa. Looks like I'll be better off getting the passes to SFKK if there is nothing worthwhile in those books.
  6. I was already planning on going to SFKK first. SFGAm while being the closest to me is still over 5 hours away so I don't see me going there very often either. My question now is what's in the value book? I'll probably only spend one day at SFKK since I'd rather spend the time at Holiday World while I'm in the area. I'll probably spend 2 or 3 days at SFGAm. Is there enough in that book to make up the cost difference?
  7. I've been online trying to plan my summer trip and noticed it was cheaper to buy a season pass at $79.99 than passes for two days at SFGAm (totaling about $90). Upon seeing this I immediately decided to look for more parks I could go to and noticed that SFKK was only $49.99 for season passes. Do I have to get a pass from SFGAm since it's the closest to my home and thus could be considered my home park, or could I get one from SFKK instead. My current plan has me hitting up both parks this summer.
  8. They said in the last OnPoint blog post that they hope to make a new PointCast(what they call their video podcast) of the process. A time lapse video of that would be pretty interesting.
  9. Looks like Cedar Point has started the pull through. Train is on the track above and to the right of the trucks.
  10. I finally got on it twice last year after trying every year since it opened. Couldn't believe it was actually running that day It is a good coaster with a ride like none other, but after finally riding it i really don't have a lot of desire to wait another 2 hours for a 20 sec ride. If they made a longer version of the ride you wouldn't be able to keep it away from me.
  11. From what I've heard, everything in the videos will be there. Not much question that most of what is in the animations will end up in the ride. CF seams committed to that. The question is what will it look like for real. Animations can only go so far showing the beauty that can be achieved. I can't wait to see a POV when they're finished. Hopefully they will post one on the site early to tease us. Four months is too long a wait.
  12. To continue with the maverick goodness, new pics have been added to the official site as well. Check them out. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/gallery/
  13. Those are some nice shots. Definitely loving the one of the lift hill disappearing into the fog. Imagine the ride if they could actually keep it like that.
  14. Hi, my name is Justin. I'm from Michigan. (why does this feel like the first day of class?) I've been a fan of this site for a while now and finally decided to join. Looking forward to the summer coaster season where besides the yearly Cedar Point trip I am planning on hitting up Holiday World and Six Flags Great America for the first time. Maybe I'll get lucky and hit them up during the Midwest trip. Be nice to meet some of you in person.
