At home with the flu on a Friday night...sounds like the perfect time for a contest! And, those RCITR DVDs are my favorite. Can't wait... -
Vengeance - Knex Coaster
scooterdoug replied to Commando's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Simple, yet effective. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, with CD trains, it might keep the chain dogs from engaging the lift spring...or it could make the train bind on the lift hill. I'll have to see how to modify that for Coasterdynamix. It would be great if I could get that train through more track...then I could make longer layouts with taller elements. Thanks again for that information. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Medusa @ SFDK. Front row ride with 3 strangers who had never been on it before. Lots of yelling, screaming, and swearing. Great energy and great fun on my favorite B&M floorless! -
Vengeance - Knex Coaster

I wieght and lube all of my trains so that they retain there speed better. It currently clears all of the elements with speed so I dont believe I will have a problem. I didn't realize that weighting the trains made that much of a difference. I've seen other K'nex coasters that are ridiculously tall, but only seem to make it through a very short course. I am looking forward to seeing this once it is completed...it's a beauty! Also, would you mind telling me how you weight your trains? I might see if I can do something similar for my sitdown CD trains in order to increase the efficiency. -
Vengeance - Knex Coaster

That's got to be the best K'nex work I've ever seen. I hope that you end up having enough speed to build your intended layout. I build with Coasterdynamix, and I don't think the CD train would clear that course. And, from what I understand, the K'nex trains are not as efficient as the CD trains. Of course, I've never built with K'nex, so I could be wrong. Be prepared to possibly have to alter your design if you get a valleying train. Still, that's mighty fine building there...beautiful and smooth shaping. -Doug -
What is your next park?

Heading to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom this Sunday to process my season pass and get a few hours of riding in. I just moved to the Bay Area from Reno, and this is the first season pass I've ever owned. If any Bay Area people would like to meet up for some riding, hit me up! -Doug "Loves finally having a home park again" Heim -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Am I the only one who finds this incredibly funny? His very entertaining panic attack aside, I like how the two people behind him start screaming in order to freak him out even more. Either that, or the guy was doing it on purpose, just to put on a show. -
Very cool! I'm glad to see a park will finally be building this impressive tangle of steel. Though, I am (and always have been) confused about the Eejanaika record that was mentioned above. I ride that thing 3 times, and was fully inverted (feet above my head) MAYBE 5 times throughout the course of the ride. Perhaps less, but certainly not 14. I'm not quite sure why Guinness slapped the 14-inversions record on there. Still, on topic, I look forward to seeing the POV, as I doubt I will ever get a chance to head down south and try it out myself.
