  1. A bit off topic, but somebody mentioned winds earlier. Does October tend to be windy all around in Valencia? Last year when I went for Frightfest, Lex Luthor was closed all day due to high winds. I'm going again in a couple weeks and I'm hoping to finally get a chance to ride.
  2. Do they send you this information via e-mail or do you have to specifically check somewhere to find out. I've never been notified of any ERT.
  3. Actually, it's in a parking lot SURROUNDED by a field of grass Really though, they should take the opportunity to do something with Scream. Am I wrong to assume that they'll close off the entire "Back Alley" area after Frightfest to begin work on the new themed area? May as well at least give it a paint job.
  4. Any idea if Goliath will have to close for a while to accommodate any of TC's construction, or no? Then again, they may only be working on SFMM's off days anyway.
  5. Are. I'm pretty sure that contemporary usage of neither is singular, so "is," despite feeling incorrect, is correct. Neither of these options is available. Neither one of those people is present etc. You guys think it'll be busy? I'm pretty sure schools are back in session now, right? And I figured the "bring a friend" days are probably attempts to fill the place up a little more in times when they expect smaller crowds. Not a big deal if it is crowded, really. Technically, either suggests two things. One OR another. "Are" is the correct word to use. To answer your question, I don't think it will be as crowded. Schools are back in session and this is the slightly "slower" period right before FrightFest kicks off.
  6. Didn't SFMM play around with speakers around Scream! a few years ago? What ever happened with that? I think adding some music (along with adding some detail to the parking lot theme) would enhance the experience significantly. Heck, even hearing Darude songs playing in the queue made it more exciting.
  7. ^^Yessssss. This is what I want to hear. I'll be visiting SFMM on the 25th and 26th of October. I expect there'll be more progress by then. I'll probably snap a few photos.
  8. yeah, i know. my definition of popular must be different. it used to be my favorite ride there. i'd say when they opened up the que in the station is when it died down. died down from wildly popular to just popular. Yes, I recall the three separated railings going up the stairs all split up the station into front, middle, and back cars. Those were there when I first when to SFMM in 2006 and 2007. Sometimes in the past few years, I noticed once you reach the station that those dividers are now gone. I'm sure many people were outraged to find they weren't where they wanted and would jump the line to reach their desired car.
  9. The oldest coasters in the park now are Goldrusher, Ninja, Revolution, and Viper. I don't think Goldrusher is going anywhere due to its appeal to families and I doubt Revolution will go anywhere since they can forever advertise it at the world's first vertical loop or whatever. What does that leave for the other two? Both are Arrow Dynamics creations. Ninja too appeals to families and has a unique layout on the hillside terrain. Viper however is now nearing 25 years of age. I can see both sides of the argument. It's becoming older and more rough, especially those awful OTSR's designed for midgets. The plot of land is also conveniently flat for the most part. On the other hand, I believe it can also spit out a decent amount of riders per hour (correct me if I'm wrong). None of these coasters are particularly problematic mechanically either like X2 might be or like Deja Vu was. I'm not concerned with how much land SFMM has left either. I'm just curious what's next on the chopping block when the time comes.
  10. You are correct. My friend and I got them last October. There's the wristband you get for the mazes itself, but then if you want front-of-the-line privileges, it's a separate wristband. The wristband was actually very helpful for a few of the mazes.
  11. The way it works is that you buy your discounted season pass online, print the receipt and head off to the park (tell the parking guy that you'll be upgrading to gold and they'll let you park for free). Go to the turnstile and they'll scan your printout and give you a new card. That card is then scanned again, and apparently, that's the gold upgrade. It's all done in one spot. There's no coupon book, no aplomb, just a plastic card with your name sharpied onto it. The coupons and stuff are online and you can access them once you register your pass. The expiration date you see is the last day to upgrade to gold. So I don't have to go to guest relations to get my "hard-copy" season pass? I just go through the normal turnstiles and they upgrade me there? The gold pass upgrade also says you get early entry in. Does that permit me to go through the gold pass line or do I still have to go through the general admission turnstiles?
  12. So I have a question regarding this Gold Pass deal going on. My friend and I are planning a trip to the mountain October 25th and 26th, and we took advantage of the Season Pass/Gold upgrade option on the website. I'm a little confused regarding some of the "fine print" though. The paper that printed out reads "This is your Season Pass Vouches. Exchange for Plastic Card. Instructions Below." Said instructions read the following: "Vouched expired 11/2/14. Present this voucher at the Processing Center ALONG WITH YOUR PROCESSED PASS to add GOLD benefits to your Pass. This voucher alone does not provide a Gold Pass." So I'm confused. Do I first have to take my voucher to get the plastic season pass card and then get back in line to get the Gold upgrade, or what? I didn't have a season pass prior to purchasing the combo deal today. What exactly is the process I have to go through?
  13. Somebody mentioned something about a double twisting woodie. But what about a double fisting woody?
  14. I too would have to disagree with GL being the only non-faded coaster. If I'm not mistaken, Viper, Revolution, Goliath, Ninja, Batman, X2, and S:EFK have all received fresh paint within the last few years. While some have already started to fade, I wouldn't say they've neglected that aspect. Of course there are a few coasters that could use a fresher upper. On the other hand, I haven't been to the park in a couple years so perhaps it's gotten worse with time.
  15. Lol yeah I was a bit stingy and demanding, and perhaps jealous of how a bunch of other parks got attention. If I still had RCT2 or this park, I'd gladly continue it, but unfortunately it's just a thing of the past. Anybody know if there's any compatibility of RCT2 with a mac?
  16. They have. I recall one summer being loaded on the left station and being unloaded (post-ride) on the right station, due to the use of three trains. Of course it's happened, it's just much more unlikely now. Running two stations requires that much more staffing though. Again, this is something they'll probably invest in more-so during the summer. We may not see all three trains used, but I expect you'll see the return of dual-station operation.
  17. Technically, its purpose could serve as bait to keep the general public away from other rides. If I'm not mistaken, the ride generates quite a line at times (though this could be due to low capacity). I haven't been on it yet though the reviews all seem to be about the same. Just remember, those people queuing for GL could be in line for X2 or Tatsu instead.
  18. Sorry to bring up a long-dead thread, but it's funny (and kind of sad) seeing this creation that is long gone. It was by no means one of my best works but I definitely remember the time effort put into it. I miss the days of owning and PC and playing RCT2.
  19. of 2014? I don't understand why people assume it will necessarily take long to open. If I recall, Tatsu had a mid-May opening. Yes, the mechanics of this ride may be somewhat different, perhaps more complex, but at the same time, it's not something that much more advanced than a typical roller coaster. With the current progress, I'd expect it to be open by May
  20. I'd love to see this park released. It's evident you're one of the more experienced designers, especially when it comes to custom scenery and realism. Great work!
  21. I wish there was more around the "tickets" area around the entrance. Also, I noticed you misspelled "Phoenix" on your coaster. It says Phenoix. The blue rollercoaster seems to have too many wooden supports. I would try to remove some to make it easier on the eye, as well as more realistic. Remember, foliage and scenery is your friend!
  22. So far, your park seems to be going pretty well! This really makes me miss RCT2. I started sharing my own park on here a year or two ago and never got around to completing it. But I say keep going! You seem to have a good grasp of custom scenery.
  23. Has anyone else heard of SocialVibe? I guess I'll briefly describe it. It's a website in which you choose a cause to support, and then you pick a sponser or two from a list of them to sponser you. Then comes the easy part. You pretty much make points through various means. The points act as money (remember you don't pay a dime at all) and as you gain points, your sponser will give money towards your cause. It's such a simple way of making a huge difference. If you haven't yet seen it, try checking it out! Heck, even sign up Try itt. Here's my link. http://www.socialvibe.com/?r=589329 Oh and if you gain 2000 points, you get a free pink ball!
