While I was at work yesterday, the weather guy was making a map for the newscast today. He had a map that showed Katrina's path and Gustav's path, if the east side is more trouble and it stays on the current path, the big easy could be in trouble, major trouble if it becomes a cat 3 (which iirc is what Katrina was when she hit). There was a story on CBs saying that the levees could only stand up to a Cat 2 storm so good luck down there.

TR & HD Videos: SFMM -- "NO TRIPOD FOR YOU!"
spaceace12 replied to ajacy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That sucks about the tripod, I have never had any issues taking mine into theme parks. I think I have only taken it into Indiana Beach once. I might see if they were busy and said you couldn't bring it in. I do have a replacement suggestion. Buy a monopod, they usually fold up to be only about 12 to 15 inches long and only have one leg. If I take something in, that is usually what I bring in. I haven't looked at your videos yet, but one thing you might look into using and not using your bandwidth is www.vimeo.com it is a high def. video upload site. I personally use it just for standard def. videos though. -

They should have just named it the Gravy boat and then all the Acers would be drooling to ride it....rim shot! (sorry if that has already been said). -

Some could percieded as a negative while some might consider them a positive, it all depends on like other parks ( I don't like this one as it makes it like all the other parks around here and not as family friendly as it is now). While some are extreme negatives. -

My first visit this year was opening day, it was cold, but everything was open. I then returned on May 31st and June 1st and seen the effects of the new ownerships. The things they did I don't like. *new colors on the sky ride *the style of the new buildings they build on the midway *putting a building in front of the carp viewing spot, you can't get that many people on the ramp towards Galaxi *the random rotating ride closings they did on my last vists (supposdely is better now) *One train operations on lost coaster, makes wait times terrible. (this is a problem that can be fixed with money). *I have not seen anyone using the mini golf under the big wheel, I guess it is shut down (I really don't know) *staffing has been a big issue this year, all the good staff has left because Morgan's doesn't want to pay them very well. The good *Galaxi's new paint looks good *while not technically part of the new ownership, the Skyroom Brunch buffet kicks butt. Eh, that is all I got. I know of a few other proposed changes and why some things are happening in the park, but have been told not to say them. I have only told one other person in private what a few of them are. -
So to all who know/have exp. a hurricane, is it true the east wall is the most dangerous side? Obviously all sides are dangerous, but I think I heard something that the east side is the most dangerous.

Obama or McCain or Beemerboy?

I am at the point I will probably not vote for President because I know nothing about either. Politicians will say anythign to get into office. But if it was up to looks on voting, the McCain team has my vote because the Alaskan lady sure is nice looking. -

As for doom and gloom days ending at IB, from insider information that I know, it just might be the beginning of the end. The new management is spending money on advertising, but that is about it. -
I applied for the store I work at back in 2001 when the owner built the new store. I went to school and didn't persue it anymore. Back in 2005, I finally finished school and needed a second job, so I called the owner every week to find about if there was a opening, after about 3 months, there finally was. I been there ever since.

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays....I leave home at 9am and get home at midnight from both my jobs.

^ Thanks for saying that because that is what I thought also. I seen on the news the last night that the Army Corps. are putting in temp. levees because they still have not had the time to fix all of them. Then add in that fact that the repairs have not been tested on the fixed ones. I just hope Katrina's aftermath has everyone in NO that didn't evacuate evacuates this time. Sorta sad is that people are just finishing their homes from Katrina and now who knows what will happen with this storm.
-
If they have to evacuate http://www.neworleanssaints.com/Articles/2008/8/Statement%20from%20Mickey%20Loomis%20Regarding%20Evacuation%20Plans.aspx knowing weather history, it could miss or it could wobble a little and hit head on. I think a few players might enjoy some time in Indiana. The punter, Steve Weatherford, is from Terre Haute. The Saints Coach once coached at Indiana State here in Terre Haute. Drew Brees was a football player at Purdue.
-
I think you hope it doesn't hit NO, even just rain will be devasting to NO. Its current track has it heading straight for the area, actually has he eye to the west of NO.
-
I am 99% sure from posts on a few message boards that the New Orleans Saints are evacuating to Indianapolis to practice in the RCA dome while the hurricane threat is a danger to New Orleans. According to a few posts at the Colts message board and a Saints Message board and also a comment made a NFL network reporter, I pretty much believe it.
-
Not being very familier with hurricanes, isn't the most dangerous side the east side of one? If so, at the current track, that is the side that is projected to hit NO.

What do you know, New Orleans officials are preparing for a Hurricane. They are already preparing to bring in 3k national guard and possibly evacuate the whole city! The Saints are supposedly coming to practice in Indianapolis if they have to evacuate. The Saints might not even get to play a game in the regular season if the storm hits the city as hard as Katrina. -
If England is anything like the USA, most jobs are out fo the question were you get a normal weekly check. IF it is like the USA, your best best is to do odd jobs.

this ride isn't even built yet, and you seem to know it will break down a lot. I know Intamin doesn't have the best reputation, but that doesn't mean it will be down a lot.
