Busch Gardens Thanks for that Busch Gardens commercial. Seems all these spots from the 80's & 90's have this "Feel Good, Family together" happy theme songs running thru them. Here is another Busch commercial... -

I wish I had more commercials from Carowinds, that Drop Zone one is the only one I have. There is a list of all the commercials I have posted on page 56. The ones in white are links to the ones already posted. The ones in yellow are the ones that are coming up. There is one from Busch Gardens coming up plus one that you will not want to miss from Story Land in NH. It gets the award for the "Cheesiest commercial in my collection" -

I rode it during WCB and didn't think it was that bad. It is not as good as it used to be but it really isn't as un-rideable as we make it out to be. But it sure does seem little right next to Tatsu. Especially as you are heading down the hill into the loop, Tatsu just dominates Revolution. Funny to see the new generation right next to the old. At one time Revolution and Colossus where the "end-all" in the roller coaster world. Now Revolution seems teeny next to Tatsu and Colossus barely comes up to Goliath's knees.

The ocean park song is remenicent of the Pointer Sisters song "I'm so excited" But what about the Linnanmaki song? You don't find that catchy in a sort of "polka" way??? -

Same here! With all Anton's coasters ending up in Mexico (who would've thought such a thing could happen?!), it would indeed be grand if Wiener Looping would come back to American soil. Huge fan here also!!!! and I love this ride! I am so glad to see it all refurbished and back on the market. Would love to see it here in the states but somehow I doubt it will be back on American Soil. Too wild for todays so called ride parks and I doubt an FEC could afford to maintain this. I'll start booking my flights to Mexi.. -

Jay- Why do you say that? I don't recall seeing a Disney commercial lately, how are they different? -
There have been some interesting posts about fire safety and evacuation brought up. I have been involved in quite a few construction projects and fire safety is usually designed around exits being located certain distances away from each other and based on occupancy of the designated areas of the building. If a fire were to break out in one of these buildings I am sure there are routes that employees of the ride and those waiting in the queue could easily access and get out of the building quickly. But what about those that are on the ride? If a fire breaks out while you are riding and secured in the cars you are in a shit load of trouble. How do you escape a situation like that?

Today you get two commercials, and the theme is "Mountains" first up... Six Flags Magic Mountain's "Mountain Report" This Mountain features the most challenging vertical drops and the fastest lifts in California... Long underwear not required. Disneyland's "Mountain Ranges" Matterhorn Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain... Conquer Southern California's most thrilling mountain range! -

God I miss the Tidal Waves. They were such well done rides: the name, the themeing, the stations, the location in the park...it all just worked. Although I did like the trains better with the red strip better than the dark blue. Too bad there are not more rides done like that now-a days outside of the Disney, Universal or Busch parks. -

Drop Zone Of all the commercials I have in my collection this commercial for Drop Zone at Paramount's Carowinds is by far my favorite. I think it is very creative, funny, full of great lines and the guy that plays the part is perfect. "Houston, we have a problem!" "Thank you sir may I have another..." Even though this commercial was filmed at Carowinds it also ran for the Drop Zones at Great America and Canada's Wonderland. -

^ i was being sarcastic. I would take the impressive bat over the Vortex any day. One of my favorite things of the Vortex is the station...and, Hello, that is the only thing left over from the Bat! I think that the Bat II takes the form of Flight Deck. It wouldn't have surprised me that if Kings Island was not owned by Paramount at the time that Top Gun may have had a name that harkened back to the Bat somehow. -

The concept of Flashback could actually be quite a good ride if they could put B&M floorless trains on the ride. Those trains that box you in and those awful restraints killed the ride, they were the worst. Another great post Oslor! -

Tibidabo Now this commercial from Tibidabo park in Spain kind of reminds me of the opening sequence of the movie Roller Coaster, ya know right before they take that fateful ride on the Ocean View Rocket. -

Which parks have gotten worse over time?
montezooma replied to roland303's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's not really fair to say that Paramount ruined the parks. Paramount basically bought the parks but it was still the same people from KECO that ran them and made the decisions. They had new properties to apply to their attractions but I think things would have pretty much gone the same direction with or without Paramount being added in front of the parks names. It is different than Six Flags. Everytime Six Flags changed owners they pretty much brought in new people to run the show and make the decisions (for example Time Warner, Premier Parks and now Snyder's group) The group at Paramount pretty much stayed the same...Jane Cooper, Al Weber and the rest pretty much ran the show until Cedar Fair took over. -

Well the VCR is used to record some of these commercials was as big as some of the microwave ovens nowadays. You had to push down hard on a button and then the top popped up so you could slide the tape in. The thing was like a tank.
