  1. Cheers to you! May all your coaster rides be as smooth as glass. I used your pictures and I've ridden 28.
  2. At the park, they have videos and photos of the new Iron Rattler. They also have a fact sheet with some stats on the new coaster. One of the stats listed on the sheet is that the coaster will have just two trains. Makes sense. I actually thought it did have a MCBR. It takes a lot of staff and talent to make using 3 trains worth it. No point stacking two on the brakes.
  3. The New Texas Giant has three trains, so I bet Iron Rattler could, too. As far as I know it hasn't been confirmed either way. Those original opening day pictures look epic. I think what happened here was the boundaries were pushed on new design technology and corners were cut by extending the drop, which led to a less-than-deal final product.
  4. Well these pics should curb some of the bitching about Six Flags and their maintenance. I'm sorry you have to ride those knockoff SLCs but the pictures/video have been the highlight of my week. Those wheels and axels look in great condition.
  5. Yeah, where the fuuuu is 305?!
  6. The classic Top Spin is my favorite. I remember when the Myrtle Beach Pavilion got one, I thought it was the coolest ride ever. Of course the ride quality depends so much on the program. That video of some operator making it spin 70 times in manual mode shows just how crazy it can get.
  7. And a train isn't going to blow through magnetic brakes anyway, right?
  8. I rode generation 1.5, with the nasty seatbelts. It was a fun ride though; that drop is nuts.
  9. ^Yeah, or a heart attack or something. They'll probably do a redundant safety check on Monday and then re-open it. It happens, unfortunately. On a side note, has anyone ever noticed the ride descriptions on KD's Web site? I love that Hurler is a "favorite of enthusiasts" and that Shockwave is a "favorite of park guests." Haha, yeah.
  10. That is an interesting new(?) paint job on the Arrow at Ocean Park, not sure I like it. Nice photos from all the parks, too. I remember some Travel Channel program talking about Megaphobia sharing a field with sheep or something.
  11. I think Anaconda will be around for awhile. There is just no reason to remove it before Shockwave. Although, Shockwave did get fresh paint a year or two ago.
  12. I'm pretty shocked this was actually saved. Since most of the problems were electrical, I guess re-wiring it could solve the issues?
  13. ^It's made by Huss? They probably are "waiting on a part."
  14. Those lap bars looked familiar. Sure enough, the train is by Premier. Is that their one and only wooden coaster train?
  15. The last post I made came off a little douchy, but I didn't intend it as so. I wasn't talking specifically about the lap bars, just the wild ride Skyrush gives in general. I very much believe people on TPR about a ride's quality and comfort, so the comments about the lap bars on Skyrush, rattle on Oziris, etc. I assume to be true. I've just had some funny experiences at theme parks where people will complain about ANYTHING.
  16. Is Green Lantern really that bad? How does it compare to Mantis? I have ridden that and loved it.
  17. I think part of the problem, and I haven't actually ridden Skyrush, is that a lot of people think a roller coaster is supposed to be no more forceful/uncomfortable than sitting on their couch. Should a ride beat the hell out of you? Probably not. Are roller coasters for everyone? Again, no.
  18. I just did the following as original. I have a cool edited version somewhere but can't find it at the moment.
  19. I want to record all these episodes, but U-Verse has them listed very strangely, by their individual titles, and not as a series.
  20. A family member of mine went yesterday - Sunday - and said there were no lines whatsoever. Everything, including Skyrush, was basically a walk-on. The longest wait all day was 20 minutes for Fahrenheit.
  21. 45~ second ride, 1 minute ~ load. So probably.
  22. The ride looks really great, and that was a slick video! I'm really proud of MM for doing that make-over and addition to the Superman tower. Looks like a great ride combo. Thought it wasn't shown in the video, the audio at the top is a nice touch, too! The 4.5 second free fall looks absolutely nuts. One day I will get to Valencia. One day.
  23. I love that the trains on SOB are from the Myrtle Beach Pavilion's Hurricane...Gerstlauer's finest! I wonder if they run them now and then? Seems like you'd have to do a lot of track maintenance just to make an unmanned test run possible.
  24. The Premier coaster is a fun little ride, too. Led Zeppelin/Time Machine has a great drop and is smooth through the cobra roll, but then becomes a forceless, rattly disappointment. I just hope the decision is made one way or another in the next 6 months or so. Sell the rides before they are no longer usable.
