  1. Just Wondering what everybody thinks is the best I am purposly excluding Dueling Dragons because I believe it would win by a landslide so this is kinda of a poll for 2nd place. Dueling Dragon trains http://www.rcdb.com/ig558.htm?picture=18 http://www.rcdb.com/ig558.htm?picture=19 Thanks for voting, JEFF Nemesis Inferno Top Gun Montu Katun Alpengeist
  2. ^was that recently or opening year 1992? I remember seeing some footage from press day without the wheel covers from a distance but it was just a quick shot. JEFF
  3. Saw Elissa's pic at the begining of the "last coaster you rode" Thread and Wondered if anybody had a picture of the whole train without wheel covers...I have seen Raptor without one of them but that is it. Has anybody seen a whole train without them? Thanks, JEFF
  4. Grizzly PKD 10-16-05 Last ride of the night Was running really good that night and the ops stiffed us on the "one more time!!!" JEFF
  5. Here are my pics of the B&Ms of Cedar point. I love the color in the Mantis photos taken opening year, 1996. Also photos of Mantis taken from the ferris wheel in 1999, pics that can never be taken again =( Enjoy, JEFF
  6. Here are my pics of the Intamin coasters at Cedar Point. For the photos section Enjoy, JEFF Taken from the Sunroof
  7. Thanks I appreciate that. I have TONS of videos, pics and brochere's (sp?) I have bought, made, traded in my 26 years. and I always thought it kinda sucked that I had all this stuff that only I enjoyed, But Thanks to Robb and his kick ass site you all can enjoy it. So a big Thank you to Robb and Ellisa for hosting all my (as my wife calls it) Crap To Fatality- It was just a standard 35mm camera JEFF
  8. Cedar Point..No contest for me Driving on the causeway my first time....HOLY DUNG!!! (I was 14) JEFF
  9. Yes, Riding it while it happened was very cool...right up there with the loops on Dueling Dragons...But sadly it will never do it again. I had a big rant about it in Jarmor's Gwazi POV post, here is the excert The Loch Ness Monster at BGW would be awesome when the trains were dispatched at the right time and they would interlock through the loops together. One Day We were waiting in the station for a while and I asked the checker why are we waiting? He said that maintenance does not want them interlocking the trains through the loops anymore. What a bunch of Crap! The Loop Structure is Completely independent of one another!!! Sure enough. Next year the lift hill was slowed dramatically to make it Impossible to happen!!! and it remains that way to this day. JEFF
  10. Very nice pics of Pavilion, I sent him some of mine by E-mail but yours are better JEFF
  11. Yea, but you cannot really turn a park around in a year...it just cannot be done. Don't get me wrong, I like the park and do not want to lose some quality rides but the drought of new Coasters in the central VA/Midatlantic area has just got me down, we have not had a new major coaster at the 3 biggies around me (PKD, BGW, SFA) since 2001 (Hypersonic-if that counts and Batwing) and Italian Job just isnt gonna cut it....especially if we lose flight of fear. I guess we will wait and see next year how this goes. Parades I think is an awful idea if he is trying to save money. Look at the payrolls of all those people that is alot of money. Fireworks on the other hand get families to stay in the park till the park closes and eat dinner there and have desert and buy light toys etc. PKD used to do fireworks everynight in the summer and FAMILIES STAYED till closing to see them. Now they do not have them except July 4th and nobody really stayed past 8 o'clock (note they have cut back their hours to 9 o'clock closings this year... a 1st) I do not understand why more parks do not do it...I would think the profits made on the food alone would more than cover the cost of the pyrotechnics. JEFF
  12. The park has never really turned a good profit. They invested millions trying to get attendance up: Roar 1998 Jokers Jinx,2 face and total rehab for park becoming 6 flags in 1999 Superman 2000 Batwing 2001 If 5 major roller coasters in 4 years did not do much, then taking down a caricature stand isnt going to make them into a huge money maker. Bottom line is it is not a very family friendly park...Especially when you have Hersheypark 2 hours North and BGW 2.5 hours south. Those are the family destinations for Theme parks in the mid-atlantic. SFA is more of a Summer babysitter.
  13. Closer????? I am not quite sure how well that would fit into a Roller Coaster soundtrack but to each his own My only suggestion to you is Fuel by Metallica..Judging by what you have JEFF
  14. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/23/AR2006022301967.html Just going by the land value and how seemingly overnight they closed Astroworld, I would not be surprised if the same thing happened here. If they want to attract families, I would not advise jacking up prices $13 for G.A. and an extra $5 for parking in 1 year, especially when you are not even adding anything major. SFA owns a ton of land in that area and I am Sure snyder is well aware of that and how quickly it would sell for big bucks. I guess I better go this year JEFF
  15. To me the trick track stuff that CCI was throwing on everything in the late 90's.... and any kind of straight track for that matter (Morgan's), Great Bear etc. I personally love Cobra rolls as long as they are FAST and have "the Whip" but slow Cobra rolls do suck. To me Chang's and Mantis' Inclined loops (Riddler's is too big and slow), Inverted Top Hats and Fire Dragons wrap around Immelman are the coolest inversions I would like to see alot more of. JEFF
  16. Here are some pics from my midwest trip in 1998 Enjoy, JEFF
  17. Here are some of the pics I took when I went to BGT Steel coasters were taken in 1997 and gwazi was 2000. Also another Alligator pic Enjoy, JEFF Awesome pic before they closed off the overflow Que
  18. Here are some of my pics from 1997-2002 Enjoy, JEFF
  19. Nice little park when I visited in 1998 Outlaw was a pleasant Surprise a very solid wooden coaster especially for being under 70ft tall. It was Mike Boodley's (GCI) first big design when he was with CCI. Enjoy, JEFF
  20. Here are (IMO) the best pics of the park that I have taken Enjoy, JEFF 6 years later...looks a little different Opening Day 1999 Construction
  21. It was the transition from the 1st Corkscrew to the Cutback that was the problem. they removed the Corkscrew and added an exit ramp so they could bank the turn more but IMO it did not help at all. But then again it was not that rough to me. Every time I went I rode at least 5 times and I did not phase me but the GP that goes to that park expects butter smooth rides. Which is why I believe you will never see wooden coasters there. (that and the noise factor) JEFF
  22. I got tons from all up and down the east coast and midwest and some from soCal (But you have that area pretty much covered ) Let me know if there is anything you need that you do not have pics of.
