I think that hard mode is really when the game comes out. You really get to start utilizing the features like hammer-ons and pull-offs.

Its just really fun to play and you can try and challenge yourself to play expert. I dont think many people get carried away... Although actually playing the guitar would be much more challenging than playing guitar hero
