I am planning on making a visit to BGE last week of this month, July 28th, 29th specifically and was wondering what the crowds would be like?I know it varies year per year but any guesses would be appreciated. Also, what would be the best plan of attack in the morning as far as coasters go? I haven't been since I was about 7, when there was no way you would have strap me to a coaster. So I definately cant wait, especially to pop my B&M cherry. Any help shall be much appreciated!

First Visit To Dollywood Advice
xericx replied to live2tell75's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1.On a Thursday, there shouldnt be much congestion at all. 2.Thursday, you'll not need a Q2Q(personally, unless you're from pretty far away and come on a Saturday, I really see no reason why you would ever need one at Dollywood). 3.Its easy to pack snacks into Dollywood, I always take a few granola bars in my pocket. But im sure if you were to ask, Dollywood would make a exception. 4.I suggest instead of going straight to Mystery Mine, go to the back of the first, and work your well forward. If you time it right, by the time you get to the front lines will be almost non existent. 5.Daredevil Falls, can vary depending on where you sit.Blazing Fury can get you pretty wet if you sit in the front, I suggest the main back for keeping dry, plus there is some surprising air time in the back too. Mountain Sidewinder will pretty much get you soaked every time. Its also, IMO one of the best non coaster rides anywhere. 7.A good majority of food vendors use the giant skillets to cook food.I highly suggest papa's flat bread near the train station. -
These pictures make me ask once again, why oh why doesn't dollywood stay open till night?

Photo TR: Julie's incredibly packed day at Dollywood
xericx replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
you really, really need to go during a weekday.usually everything is a walk on-10 minute wait max.if you go to the main back of the park at opening and slowly work your way to the front you can usually avoided almost all the crowd. -
The Simpsons Theme Park
xericx replied to Tobias94's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Considering the Simpsons is my all time favorite show, hell yes I'd love to see a Simpsons theme park! While I haven't really gotten to watch much of the past few seasons, I'd still be willing to bet it still blows most other shows away. Done right, a Simpsons theme park could be absolutely amazing. You could even have mini parks inside it such as Itchy and Scratchy Land, and Duff Gardens. But unfortunately, I think at this point and time since there are rumors the series will end after the current contract runs out it probably wouldnt be the best idea. However, I think a "land" such at maybe IOA would be a great idea. -
Dollywood Sneak Preview Day 03/29/07 trip report
xericx replied to xericx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
i meant to bring the camera, but ran out and forgot it.which is just as well, usually when i do remember it i get lazy and wont take pictures. the boring/rough part is after the first drop, on the tressel.one thing that i think made it not as fun is, there are about two block section in which it slows the ride down too much.its not rough as in, hey i dont want to ride that again, just a little jerky.theres also a very jerky part on the way to the first hill in the dark part. advice:MAKE SURE YOU GET THE FRONT SEATS, you honestly cant see anything from the back.in fact, i miss a pretty big surprise when i rode it the first time in the back, also the two seats on the right side seems the least rough. -
My friend and I arrived at Dollywood around 10:30, got our photos took for our season passes, and were in line for Mystery Mine by 11:20!After a short breakdown(15 minutes or so) we were on.I wont go into great detail, but as far as I could tell most/all of the effects were on, the theming was excellent with a couple surprises. The coaster itself, was fun..the first half is a little bit boring/a little rough around a couple turns. The last half on the other hand, is pretty good, vertical drop into heartline/immelmann is good stuff. However, i think the immelmann into the breaks/station is a pretty big let down, but there is quite a bit of hangtime before hand.Overall, with the theming I think Dollywood did a amazing job on this, the size of the building is massive.I suggest everyone checks it out asap. The day in general was good, no waits more than 15 minutes(other than the breakdown on MM).Most waits on MM were 10 minutes or less which ruled.Only downside was Tennessee Tornado was not operating today =( ride count: Mystery Mine:7 Thunderhead:4 Blazing Fury:4 Mountain Sidewinder:1 Timbertower:1 Dizzy Disc(i think thats the name):1

Just curious if anyone plans on going to any of the sneak preview days, or regular park opening this week. I will most likely go for the season passholder's sneak preview day on Thursday and also plan on going Saturday evening/Sunday. heres to Dollywood, that Mystery Mine is ready for a soft opening!

SOB New Trains from Myrtle Beach
xericx replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dear Cedar Fair, you apparently have no business operating wooden coasters at all. thanks, -eric. -
this is a old thread but im bored. 1.easier system specs for pc.come on, this game shouldnt lag that much.not everyone can afford the newest up to date pc, and the majority of people fall into this. 2.go back to the old construction interface.i absolutely hate the one on rct3. 3.same thing with the paths. 4.easier menu/navigation system..the first time i played it it took me almost 30 minutes to find how to hire staff.not because i couldnt find the menu, but because i didnt see the tiny hire staff buttons. 5.land editing tools... okay, i like some of these, but others i hate.i hate how land has to be perfectly level before paths can link up. 6.better scenery options. 7.LESS CARTOONISH. 8.smarter peeps.. its really annoying when they crowd in one section of the park, and dont even notice that awesome new rollercoaster you built. 9.rct1/rct2 display options...IE, ability to turn scenery/rides on/off separately from each other, etc. 10.catwalks on lifthills. 11.more elements on certain coasters(IE, vertical drop coasters) 12.maybe midway games?

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
xericx replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
ive been following this rumor on pkicentral now for a couple weeks, and i am shocked that it turned out true.i just wonder what they are planning on replacing the loop with?a whole new section maybe?i guess we will have to wait till next season to see weather this is a good idea or not.personally i find this a very cheap way(and also kindof strange decision) to solve a problem. only time will tell though. -
Supermarket Credit?
xericx replied to Not For Sale's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Jungle Jim's is one damn awesome place for sure. The size of the store is amazing.I can easily spend 3-4 hours there.Hopefully one day they will get the monorail finished and running. -
Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
xericx replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's apparently been talk a little bit of construction going on around Racer at PKI before the season ended. If that is indeed true, that along with the surveying van from Cincy, I think the odds of this going to PKI are highly high. They could definitely use another coaster, especially if you take in account the crowds PKI draws. -

What is the best coaster in your home park?
xericx replied to MattJackson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
even though it is about 2 and a half-3 hours away Dollywood is also my home park.and of course my answer is the same as havenli's. Let the thunder roll! -
My friend Ashley and I left Richmond, Ky around 4ish, didnt get there till about 6:30 due to really bad traffic in Cincy.Earlier before I had tried to buy tickets online but kept getting errors, I went to the will call both to tell them about it and thankfully they let me get one there for the same price as online.Face/Off was the first ride of the night in the front roll, didnt get my head beat too much.Next, I FINALLY conquered my fear of drop rides and rode Drop Zone.Wow, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.Nothing as bad as I thought it would be.Can't wait to start riding more drop rides now. After that the rides get hazy..We didn't do no mazes because the lines were all too long. The crowds werent bad at all however. All the ride waits were pratically walkons less than 10 minutes waits. The Beast was the only ride with a long wait, being 30 minutes.Speaking of which, it was running amazing that night.Especially in the front seat in which I got my my best Beast ride ever.My friend lost her glasses on it as I told her she probaly would, luckily she has another pair. Overall a great time.Park looked pretty good..Hopefully next year I will be able to visit for 2 nights and be able to get some mazes in. Ride count: The Beast-2 Vortex-3 Flight Of Fear-2 Italian Job-1 Face/Off-2 Adventure Express-1 Drop Zone-1 Delirium-1 Racer(backwards)-1 Tomb Raider-1 Viking Fury-1

a friend and i plan on going to kings island next friday(13th) anyone have a idea what the crowds may be like?specifically lines for the rides?although i plan on trying to check out a couple of mazes, i mainly worried about ride wait times.if anyone could help me, it'd be appreciated.

on my last visit to dollywood, the park was closing so my friend and i ran to thunderhead for one last front roll ride(we've had already had about 13 other rides on it that day).well for our last ride we got the seatbelt really loose and the clicked the lap bar down only a few clicks(basically enough for it to barely work).well the ride op didnt notice!so off we went out of the station, and just as we were going down the first drop, *click*.scared the shit out of me, but easily the best ride ever.the airtime was insane.felt like i hardly ever touched the seat.
